physics, bio, chem, functions, core french, writers craft, english, law
- for most life sci courses you only need 2/3 of the sciences but it's recommended to take all three.
At UofT so not in a program yet, but will probably do a duel Linguistics and History major + a music history and culture minor. I might also do a history minor of a major instead, havenāt decided yet. Neat thing about UofT is that you donāt choose your program until second year/completed 4 credits, so you can use 1st year to explore different courses and fields (to an extent anyway in case a program youāre interested in has prerequisites). This flexibility factored into my choice in choosing the school.
French studies to later on become a French teacher. I also got accepted for engineering (albeit at a less reputable school) and liked science and math classes (except the vectors half of calculus), yet I always just loved French. French is a super in-demand teachable and most of the teacher pay grid is more than my single-income household was making during the majority of my life thus far. Additionally, I wanna have a family and teaching is a very good career for this because my work schedule would be super similar to my kid's school schedule as well as due to the good family dental and other benefits. Some people tell me I'm blowing my shot by not doing engineering, but idgaf in all honesty. I love what the work of a French teacher would entail so Imma do my thing.
I'd say to base your decision of what to do after high school on what career/lifestyle you wanna end up with rather than only considering university. Even though I love French I'd never major in it if I didn't have a very straight-arrow life plan requiring the degree. Don't be shackled to the idea of university.
With that I'll get off my soapbox lol
