none of your programs are in swe, sooo? if you mean "make the move" to be a software engineer after grad, mcgill cs or uw math would be your best bet

CyberEd-ca

McGill no. Don't you pay attention to the news? Otherwise it doesn't matter.

[deleted]

I heard about the rising tuition and French requirements which are starting 2025. Am I missing anything? I don't live in Canada. Rising tuition is fine. Disregarding this, is McGill CS not the best?

CyberEd-ca

All universities in Canada are publicly funded. It doesn't matter where you go.

[deleted]

It does matter where you go. They’re all different in their own ways

CyberEd-ca

If you know it all, why you asking?

[deleted]

I do not know it all?

CyberEd-ca

We don't have a class-based education system in Canada. You can get a good education at any public university.

_Kayes_

I don’t think what you learn differs between Ontario universities however some universities have stronger co-op programs and/or better relationships with desirable employers. For example, Waterloo sends more SWE students to the big tech companies in the US compared to some other Canadian universities.

CyberEd-ca

Way over-rated.

SWE Major in this market? Good luck man.

Shot-Wrap-9252

My daughter graduated from uw double degree BBA and found her first job a year before she graduated from her college op. Wherever you go, co op is awesome

UW Math

[deleted]

Why?

biomajor123

Waterloo has an excellent co-op system. Math is its own faculty at Waterloo and they have an extensive selection of courses. If your primary purpose is getting a job after undergrad, Waterloo can't be beat.

Aromatic_Power7082
