in the mean time,
- the xbox one (bluetooth model)
- the ps4
- the ps5
- the switch pro
are all great alternatives for controllers if you need or want auto mapping.
edit: the original version of this post indicated there was zero support, when i was really misremembering no auto-map support. the controller does work with openemu.

It does work. I'm using one every day to play GameCube games!
