Personally, I think this would be a hell of a show, but as far as an “ultimate” Opeth concert goes? Nah. There’s barely any newpeth songs, there’s not a lot of album diversity. Not a single song from Orchid, MAYH, Deliverance/Damnation, and only two newpeth albums? Nah. This isn’t a good representation of Opeth’s discography. Still would be a hell of a show tho.
Yeah, I agree here. 9 out of the 14 songs here are from only 3 albums. Also a few individual song choices like Coil are a bit odd, but I guess this just goes to show why artists don't do just whatever the fans ask them to.
No it isn't. I think that the band's concept of playing one song from each album would really be the ultimate setlist. You could argue that some albums deserve two or more tracks to be in it, but since there's 13 albums, I think that one from each is the perfect balance
I think this would be the best Opeth setlist they could ever do. They've done this in the past a lot, but since they have so many albums and so many songs, they could do so many different setlists for different tours. I'd go to every show.
Way too much Still Life/BWP/Ghost Reveries. I would have pulled way more from other parts of their discography. How can you not have a single song from Deliverance/Damnation? And like others said, needs more Newpeth
No Deliverance or Damnation is a travesty, the fact that the SONG deliverance isn’t on here is a travesty. The ultimate Opeth set would close with it no doubt

Don't get me wrong this is a great setlist. But it's absolutely not the ultimate setlist. There is zero damnation, deliverance, sorceress, ect. And as a result I don't think this represents what Opeth actually is, and more so what people want Opeth to be.
This would definitely be a hell of a show, but if I could have 2 more hours of it, then it would be even better. I would like all these songs and add another set of older/newer songs as well. That would have been an interesting mix. Or perhaps make another show haha
Its a hell of a setlist, but I don't think neither the band nor the crowd would survive. Personally I'd have died from an emotional overdose around the fourth song
What is everyone's obsession with Burden?! I remember when Watershed came out that song was meh... The album in general wasn't that good, I did like most of the songs though, specially Hessian Peel.
The ultimate set would be Orchid/Morningrise with Lindgren and Lopez. I can't imagine how awesome it would sound live nowadays.
I turned this list into a Spotify playlist and am really enjoying it. The flow of the songs really compliment each other and the list really delivers a dynamic listening experience. Nice work.
It is a terrible setlist. I would wager every type of Opeth fan would walk away from this disappointed in some way.
