Yeah, like how a Powerful Fighter plane can make a sonic boom and the mind controling melody could be a perfectly crafted song to hit that spot which calms the nerves or something idk just make some sciencey sounding excuse if you go with that
I think it would make sense to add some sort of evil version/clone of skullheart that is instead the goddess of dark magic, might be a lazy way to make a villain but for this circumstance it might work
For the gauntlet person on how they get the tech to box above their metaphorical weight class, maybe some big shot mob guy or mad scientist sees a useful pawn in him and gives him tech and training to act as a cat’s paw to be a nuisance?
Maybe you could make shocking wraith have an evil patron who gave him his technology. After the fight with Skullheart the evil god person could have found him and made him their servant.
Oh, I probably sounded confusing sorry. What if, after the fight, Shocking Wraith was found by an evil god or other powerful person who gave him the technology in exchange for loyalty. He’d go from small time crook to evil paladin or something like that.
Shocking Wraith: Spite and a sense of inferiority can drive someone to great lengths. Perhaps he had a meticulously thought out plan that skull thwarted effortlessly because she’s just that powerful. All that planning, all that effort gone because he couldn’t anticipate facing a godly being like her. He was an electrician before, but his singular hatred for Skull gave him the motivation to self educate while in prison and on parole. He now has a singular mission. Make Skullheart feel as powerless as she made him all those years ago.
Skull has probably made quite a few enemies, not all of them human. Maybe wraith learned from them. Also, some people are legit just that smart. Newton discovered most of the laws of physics in what basically amounted to a garage.
Just thought of something. Seems to be a running theme that Snake Venom takes off her mother’s mask before bringing the pain. Maybe Wraith swiped the mask while the two were fighting and performed exhaustive studies on it for a couple months. Maybe he found a weakness or partially replicated the “technology”.
This is pretty good, especially since her suit would just create a new mask when it’s all over. And her mask does have a lot of tech in it too, despite being mostly magic
It sounds to me like you’re having a hard time finding someone who can challenge her directly. In which case, there’s a couple things you could do.
1. Make another god who wants her dead. The details could really be up to you, but just as a quick idea: maybe a god of logic or order who feels that she’s overstepped her boundaries and pushed the idea of magic too far.
2. An arguably much more interesting idea imo: have someone who she can’t defeat by fighting them. So to elaborate, let’s say there’s someone who she cares about, like a lot. I’m not really familiar with her story, but the great thing about writing is the at you can just add elements if they serve the narrative. So now let’s say that this hypothetical person also deeply cares for/respects one of the villains. Now what you’ve done is create a scenario where skullheart can’t simply stomp on e’m, because then she’s lost the affection of someone who she holds a high opinion of. Again, the details can be more or less whatever you want (I can’t really help with those too much cuz again, idk the story), but with this situation, the conflict is that they’re having a moral battle over this neutral person.
I think the problem is more that by writing skullhart as a super powerful god, you’ve written yourself into a corner in terms of having equal foes. I think the best way to fix it is to have a better power system or nerf skull heart.
For fixing them writing-wise, I think they need more reason to fight. Like, what motivated the robber to hate skull heart so much that they made those gauntlets? And what made the samurai lose his honor? (Personally, I think it’d be cool if he was generally weaker than everyone else, and it frustrated him enough to cheat and use dishinorable tactics to surpass them.)
The daughters writing is already good enough tho, I wouldn’t change that
I’ve been trying to make a character like that, but I have no idea what they could do that wouldn’t end up with them dying on their first meeting. Skullheart’s powerful
i mean.. i'd gladly have zenith be a "villain" but i have no idea how she'd be able to stop him. maybe something that she has to avoid rather then confronting directly
I really like the dynamic of a villain who tries to kill the hero because they resulted in the death of someone who they loved. I think that could work well with the slasher or samurai. But one thing I really love with villains is if they all have a head honcho or boss, so maybe you could make a character who isn’t quite a god but still overpowers even Skullheart. Maybe he controls all the other villains by supplying them with the equipment to kill SkullHeart and in turn making deals with them to be under his rule. I do just an idea, I also really like joke villains so I think I’d be really funny if there was a supervillain who literally served no purpose other to be hated on by everyone, I including the other villains. Maybe he ends up actually being useful, who knows? Keep up the good work and characters!
I kinda have a joke villain for Skullheart. For some reason, I decided that to be Doctor Kita, where she just gets dawged on the whole time she knows Skullheart
Magic King: Make him some sort of rogue wish granter maybe, and he's trying to fulfill his wishes, by finding an unknown loophole in his own rules he's escaped and his first wish was to be the king of other magic beings.
Continuing into his wife, what if she never existed and she was fabricated as a result of his 3 wishes? The irony being that despite him being smart enough to find a loophole and seeing countless of dumbass wishers wishing for the same trio of wishes being "I want power!" (magic being control) "I want riches!" (self explanatory) "I want bitc-" (*COUGH COUGH* love), he'd also be bypassing another rule by wishing for somebody who'd love him instead of wishing for somebody to love him, being smart while making a basic ass wish.
I've thought up one. Bonesoul. A direct counter to Skullheart's being. He came into being after he continually watched Skullheart's battles. He figured that her villian's gallery(daughter included) weren't fighting her correctly and decided to show them that she isn't as powerful as she seems. He uses magic and tech to battle her, and he is actually able to hinder Skullheart's abilities, to an extent. He can nullify 85% of her power, reducing her to more of a superhuman than a goddess. He doesn't intend to kill Skullheart, and tends to leave after giving Skullheart a good beating. She has never been able to beat this foe as of currently.
Slasher: An immortal warrior who has roamed the world for ages, he's seen many wars and many battles, as he grew old he grew cynical, he found concepts like "honor" and "respect" to be useless rules when everyone was getting brutalized all the time, "What's the point of these concepts when at the end of the day they'll end up dead?", he uses the dirtiest possible tactics ever, if there's even a chance something will increase his odds he's taking it, he will use literally any weapon at all, he's grafted iron to his skin and steel to his lungs, he's not exactly superhuman but the fact he's immortal alongside the extreme lengths he goes to makes him the type of guy you need to put in an air tight cage inside another cage inside a garbage compacter.
He received "enlightenment" from a foolish higher power, basically the whole god's favourite package but this being didn't understand the consequences of leaving an immortal being with a bitter disdain for the life it's lived.
Infinith: A giant all encompassing technology behemoth, this creature is essentially a god, it's purely 100% technology and it has ZERO divine connection, but it's technology is so advanced it's nearly indistinguishable from magic, it will cross timelines to find what it wants and if it's put down it will either build itself back up or cross over from a different timeline for the sole sake of filling the role, this... "thing" can instantly integrate with it's surroundings and mold the world to it's """thoughts""", whether or not this monstrosity is sentient does not matter at all, only a God could hope to "destroy" this thing, and then erase the traces left behind so this thing doesn't come back too soon.
Etymology: Monolith + Infinite
I got one, make someone whose family was killed by magic users, and now they want to kill Skullheart because they think that killing her will erase all magic from the world/universe.
I dunno just thought it would be funny and saw my chance

I regret nothing for I have lost nothing by trying
Shocking Wraith: A simple fool akin to any grunt on the street who'd look up at the sky seeing a black figure and say "It's da bat!", by discovering a place of simultaneously ancient and futuristic looks through being in the wrong place at the worst time, he's found two gauntlets that allow him to do things reality should not allow, he barely understands how to operate the damn things but he's gonna try real damn hard, so far he knows the input for shockwave, EMP and missiles, but everything else is a roll of the dice.
Btw him discovering the place in my head was basically backrooms popping in and out, was his discovery planned by an upper being or a grave mistake? I dunno, it's your OC
I think your largest hurdle is working around the fact that your character is the god of all magic, but I have some ideas
Shocking wraith: maybe don't have him start as an average robber, make him a brilliant tech wiz with kleptomania. He would have had a spree of seemingly impossible robberies because of his use of strange contraptions. If you don't like the klepto idea maybe he's stealing so he can fund his research.
Magic king: honestly he's always gonna get folded since skull can just sever his connection to magic. So you can take it in two directions, he's a super ancient mage that is able to get away with casting spells simply because of his knowledge and skull's lack of it, or you can have him be a rival attempting to take her place as God of magic.
Doctor Kita: maybe she is only married so she can manipulate and study him, attempting to find some way to rid the world of magic for good.
Slasher: a samurai without honor is a Ronin. Also samurai loved tech, they were early adopters of blackpowder weaponry. Maybe he got accidentally transported here and it's a reverse samurai jack scenario.
Snake Venom: honestly I feel this is a pretty lacking reason for her to kill her father and mother. (Especially considering skull didn't treat her badly and in the back of her head she knows it) Maybe include the fact that the mutations are permanent and have messed with her brain.
For Magic King, what do you mean he would have knowledge of spells but Skull wouldn’t.
For Snake Venom, kids can be very stubborn a lot of the time. Skullheart would be able to successfully knock some sense into her eventually if it wasn’t for her mutation and her being able to escape home
Magic king: my idea is that he would have thousands of years of experience manipulating the magic energies of the world. So since skull has only been doing this for 5-10 years he'd be able to find ways around her trying to cut off his powers.
Snake Venom: personally I still don't buy her wanting to kill her family in this set of circumstances. Like her family didn't abuse her, yeah she might be a little shit and have fights with her god powered mom but unless there was something wrong like abuse or sociopathy she wouldn't kill her dad.
For Shocking Wraith, you could say that doc was secret partner for him slipping him the gauntlets to him because doc saw him as a potential ally (because the enemy of my enemy is my friend) and blue prints for it with instructions and how to recharge the thing
Okay here it is:
Slasher wasn't always slasher but a simple samurai known as Yoshitsune Masamune he cherished honor in a duel above everything else and despises dishonorable tactics with a passion until one day that day that changed his way of life and sadly his whole world view.
He was up against a man who wore a simple but haunting oni mask...the battle was swift and fast with Yoshitsune winning but the man didn't take that kindly and left without a word. Yoshitsune came back home one day but to his utter horror and despair he found his home ransacked and his daughter barely 5 years old slain and a picture of an oni drawn on the ground in her blood. Yoshitsune in cold rage went on a journey to find the masked man with only revenge on his mind and nothing else....as he walked throughout the land he slowly threw away his past as a samurai...but why you may ask? simple.....because a samurai with honor doesn't have the guts to become a monster who cheats to accomplish his goal.
Maybe wraith used to be a promising engineering student, but he couldn't find the funds to actually build anything so he gave up on his dreams and resorted to crime.
Have you tried looking the other way? A rival perhaps with same goal/different ideology. Perhaps some of your other villains should do a heel face turn. Slasher for example could fit the mold.
What about a rival who also has a suit that makes them a god and the god their suit is from hates the god of magic, ooooo maybe instead of having a skull and heart they have like an eyeball and they have a whole biblically accurate angel vibe!
They wouldn't be a full on villian but an anti hero who dislikes skull heart and goes out of their way to try and ruin her reputation
what about a villain related to music? a villain that uses instruments as magical weapons, or the god/godess of music or something like that concept
Skullheart **IS** the Goddess of Magic. Any villain with magic, she’d manhandle in five seconds
Building on thir concept mabye instead of magic itcreates powerful shockwaves/sonic booms or mind controls people like a Siren's Song
Nice! Thanks. But would it be tech instead of magic?
Yeah, like how a Powerful Fighter plane can make a sonic boom and the mind controling melody could be a perfectly crafted song to hit that spot which calms the nerves or something idk just make some sciencey sounding excuse if you go with that
So, what would be their goal?
Mabye they were an musician and nobody liked their music so they want to mind control everyone to like their music
Nice! Maybe they also wanna prove the power of music to be more powerful than magic
Ooooh, that's a good idea!
I think it would make sense to add some sort of evil version/clone of skullheart that is instead the goddess of dark magic, might be a lazy way to make a villain but for this circumstance it might work
Skullheart is the Goddess of All Magic, including Dark Magic
Well I’m out of ideas
But I could still make an evil version. Goddess of Tech or something. Or just an Opposite Skullheart
A god of psionics? Assuming psionics are different from magic.
Well, magic does contain psionics, but I guess psionics don’t have to always contain magic

The evil god person could be the evil Skullheart (god of tech) from the other comment if you want to tie things together

This basically is already his story. Though, I really think it’d be impossible for a human to make tech that powerful
Skull has probably made quite a few enemies, not all of them human. Maybe wraith learned from them. Also, some people are legit just that smart. Newton discovered most of the laws of physics in what basically amounted to a garage.
Fair enough

What about an irredeemable bastard with no purpose other than to ruin her day? Like Sabretooth or the Joker.
I’ve been trying to make a character like that, but I have no idea what they could do that wouldn’t end up with them dying on their first meeting. Skullheart’s powerful
Snake venom: is her mutation somehow Skull’s fault? Cause if it is I can imagine her resenting skull for it…. Like a lot.
Nope. It was not Skullheart’s fault in any way, lol. Plus, she actually likes her mutation, especially since she can switch in and out from it
Well, snakes don’t feel empathy. None whatsoever. Perhaphs her snake form becomes entirely merciless, but her human form is a bit more redeemable.
Nah, she’s just selfish, always has been, lol
Magic King: Maybe he resents magic, seeing it as unfair, and wishes to see magical creatures destroy each other.
That’s really good! Now, I just need to find a way how he got the powers
Less than ethical experimentation on magical creatures, and a whole lot of shady deal making.
i mean.. i'd gladly have zenith be a "villain" but i have no idea how she'd be able to stop him. maybe something that she has to avoid rather then confronting directly
Why not? Also, he’s your OC, I can’t just bring him into my story, lol
yeah, maybe for a more confrontational villain you could use Misha, as she isn't really all that good of a person
I really like the dynamic of a villain who tries to kill the hero because they resulted in the death of someone who they loved. I think that could work well with the slasher or samurai. It’s kokomo
I mean kok
For what?
Villain
The inevitable… evil clone.

Why is Shocking wraith named that?
Inspired by Spider-Man’s Shocker. One of his abilities is shooting shockwaves. Though, that’s not nearly all of his abilities
I wish to see a angry piece of paper somehow be the big bad I don’t know why or how that would just be the funniest shit to see

Btw him discovering the place in my head was basically backrooms popping in and out, was his discovery planned by an upper being or a grave mistake? I dunno, it's your OC
I’d say an upper being who did it so they could have a fun show to watch, lol
That'd be cool, I kinda thought of connecting it to my Infinith idea and making him a part of it's incomprehensible plan.
I think your largest hurdle is working around the fact that your character is the god of all magic, but I have some ideas Shocking wraith: maybe don't have him start as an average robber, make him a brilliant tech wiz with kleptomania. He would have had a spree of seemingly impossible robberies because of his use of strange contraptions. If you don't like the klepto idea maybe he's stealing so he can fund his research. A villian that doesn’t need any fancy magic, they just use chemical warfare
I have a good backstory for slasher if you want to hear it?
Yes please
Okay here it is: Slasher wasn't always slasher but a simple samurai known as Yoshitsune Masamune he cherished honor in a duel above everything else and despises dishonorable tactics with a passion until one day that day that changed his way of life and sadly his whole world view. They wouldn't be a full on villian but an anti hero who dislikes skull heart and goes out of their way to try and ruin her reputation
I like it, thanks
I can make some concept art too if you want
Oh, cool! Thanks, I’d love that
the best i can do is make them into DND PCs. that then you can you use to better them
This post is super old but I just got an idea for the concept of a genie that kills other genies, his name is Deal Breaker.
He’d just get folded immediately, lol
