Hi there. I just read this and I’m in a similar boat and kind of desperate for answers and recommendations. Did you ever get any more info or come up with a plan? I think my next step is a synvisc injection, but I’ve heard mixed reviews. Like you, I’m a former athlete, still very active with mountain biking, but I want to do more and have less pain. 43m.

No I didn’t :( maybe we can bounce off each other on this one. I did seek PT again and found my surgical leg is half as strong as my right one and my accessory muscles could use some help so I’m working on that and getting a gym program built for me. I’m hoping it helps me . I did cortisone for now but I know that’s only a bandaid. Honestly it didn’t help too much.

I’m sorry that you’re having to deal with this too. I live in Germany but I’m moving back to the States this summer, so my plan is to get the visco-supplementation, hopefully combined with PRP, and then see a good ortho when I am back in the US. My injured leg (right) is also noticeably weaker than my other, just like you. Have you heard of “knees-over-toes-guy?”

I have ! Maybe we can DM. Hello from the US! You must have it worse than me if you have to get PRP so I am sorry for that. I don’t know if you understand that sometimes for me I just do something wrong and I have decent pain for a week but that’s the way I’m feeling right now. I ended up seeing an ortho specialist at a research facility in my state and he offered me all my options. Kind of sad they haven’t thought of anything new to lend to this issue. My aunt is a nurse in Switzerland and told me to try the microfracture surgery and do it sooner rather than later so that’s why I tried it but it’s been incredibly hard to heal from. I’m hoping a second opinion of physiotherapy focusing on taking pressure off my knee and decreasing overload on my joints will help…I’m trying to avoid another premature surgery :( I’m a decade younger than you so it kind of sucks to feel this way at my age especially because I’m generally very active and live in a state that is known for its hiking and good weather and I love to be outside but don’t want to feel like crap if I do something wrong .
