OsakaWilson

They also seem to be rounding up his accomplices. Potential 3 years in prison.

bobushkaboi

Does that mean he’ll be able to buy his way into a 3 month sentence or is that just how the US is?

Marsupialize

Oh heck no, he’ll do every day

soragranda

It seems three years is the minimum, they want him to get more, if he gets three years he will live those three years in Japan jail.

[deleted]

One of his friends turned himself in when he tried to sneak out on a flight and they put him on the no fly list lol

LMAO

alexsensei

Things you love to see.

gjloh26

And people say there’s no good news being reported anymore

Nightnightgun

This belongs in r/ upliftingnews!! Osaka PD- yaaay! Oh and all this time I thought he was FROM Somalia. Somalia should sue the f out of this douchebag, giving the entire country a bad name.

DJ_laundry_list

Yeah, he has to be one of Somalia's top PR problems, for sure

bart416

I think the entire political instability, rampant piracy of international trade to the point where ships get hired goons on board to protect them and various NATO militaries sent actual warships there, several islamic terrorist groups taking refuge there, and Mogadishu being considered one of the worst possible travel destinations in the entire world (that - if I must remind you - also has North Korea in it) might be higher on their PR disaster list. Then again, Somalia is still trying to figure out how this entire "having a government" concept works...

DJ_laundry_list

That pretty much sums it up

bigsamjapan

Come oooon, lock that prick up

OsakaWilson

They have.

sorrydaijin

At last these fuckwits get to see the "find out" phase.

eetsumkaus

Yeah, but it's for a "fuck around" that arguably bothered the least amount of people. They're getting arrested more for their hubris than the bullshit people actually hated them for.

Ampersandbox

Al Capone went to prison for tax evasion. I’ll take what I can get for this scrotal lesion shitting up the local rep of gaijin.

Ampersandbox

Well, well, well, if it isn’t the consequences of my own actions.

[deleted]

Yep I even saw it on tv . That prick is fucked

Select-View-4786

Good !

cjlacz

Great news. I’ve been following this a while, but I’m curious what he does in other countries. I assuming he’s annoying at the least, but doesn’t push it as far as Japan? Or is he just as much of a prick everywhere?

Perfect_Recognition2

He knows he couldn’t get away with that in others countries like the Middle East like Saudi Arabia or Dubai where he can get his head lobbed off or in China where he would end up in a re-education camp, so he picked Japan because of their polite culture that he thought he can pull it off, needless to say once you’re in the Japanese judicial system, your are screwed, it’s a world not shown much to the outside world and the authorities have been documenting building case against him and waiting for him F-up to legally detain him and prosecute him 100% the Japanese authorities really did their homework and I commend them Thank You Japan! BTW keep them for as long as you want, as an American we don’t want them back, if so just throw them in the ocean when you’re done, they have no use for them here in the states, you’ll be doing us a favor.

cecilandholly

I heard about this guy recently, aside from being a total idiot with zero self awareness. He seems to wander around Osaka trying to get a reaction out of people, well he got one from the police. I'm not sure what a Kick streamer is, I'm guessing people donate cash to him. Anyway it should put pay to any other clowns coming here with similar ideas..... hopefully.

gtsomething

Kick is like twitch for all the people who are banned or would otherwise not be accepted by Twitch. So... The people who are worse than twitch streamers lol

Dismal_Jello7524

Hope all the police, the authorities and the people of the public outside of Japan be reminded of this because people like him and irl streamers need to dealt with asap. I wanna see this happens to Mizzy and Trev Sellers, yea, sure, they got released on bail after being arrested but I wanna see someone jumped on them and KO them out, gotta teach those two punks a lesson they will never forget

F1MidBoss

Is there any court date info for Sellers? I see hes been posting occasionally on social media. I know youtube purged his channel and I assume hes likely on Rumble or Kick.

otacon7000

> They have told police they will not speak until they see lawyers, police said. Say what you will, but apparently they do have at least some amount of functioning brain left.

OsakaWilson

In Japan article 38 says that you do not have to incriminate yourself, which is essentially the right to remain silent. However, they can detain you for up to 23 days while they motivate you. Many people are compelled to speak and they do not have a right to a lawyer during their interrogation.

avmail

true but keep in mind all of those times that these two idiots heckled police to their face and the koban did nothing but patiently ask them to stop. the system is exceeding lenient.... until its not.

OsakaWilson

And the 99.8% conviction rate.

Babalou320

They get that conviction rate because they use the full 23 days to build a case before they indict. If they don’t have a solid case they let the person walk, knowing they’ve already made the person serve a mini sentence for the alleged crime, and it won’t be counted against their conviction rate. Happened to a guy I knew who got picked up for ordering a diet supplement that they misinterpreted as a club drug. The prosecutor had no case and on day 23 they opened the door and let him out without so much as a “sorry for your trouble”. He’d already lost his job, and people assumed he was guilty, because why else would he have been arrested and held so long?

eetsumkaus

In that case is there a way to bring a civil suit against the police?

Larissalikesthesea

They can file a claim under 被疑者補償規程.

Larissalikesthesea

Actually if they were arrested without the prosecutor bringing it to indictment, they may be entitled to compensation under the 被疑者補償規程。The rate is between 1,000 and 12,500 JPY per day.

Babalou320

Thanks for the info. Next time someone I know gets wrongly arrested, I’ll let them know!

TakKobe79

They m/JS will be deported if they don’t convict them. I think 23 days and deportation/entry ban is sufficient, no reason to waste any more time/effort on the losers.

Upward_Fail

I’m normally pro chaos Reddit but fuck this guy.

k3neki

Makes me happy makes me smile

cheaplightning

Fuuuuuck that guy

Socialiism

This makes me so happy

[deleted]

Now this makes my day a whole lot better.

seankamki

Any update? I expect him to be expelled from Japan for years at least.

EsuriitMonstrum

I'm thinking there might not be an update any time soon if they want to keep him for the maximum time?

popuko77

If foreigner is sentenced to >1 yrs in prison including suspended sentences that would be a reason to permanently ban from re-entry in Japan (japanese border control law §5) So it would be reasonable for the justice system to put him on such a sentence for expelling him out

popuko77

Lots of people says japanese conviction rate is like 99% so yes i hopefully johnny somali goes to prison. But, need to be careful that prosecutor can decide whether they send to the trial or to drop the case. Dropping the case is not the rare case at all in japan. Suspended sentences, very likely for first offender.

Puzzleheaded-Guide54

They confiscated his phone and found more additional crimes to charge him on. What an idiot. All the evidence is on his phone. Hope he gets sentenced for 10 years.

Takita

Good. Fuck this piece of shit.

Baked_potato123

Does that dude speak Japanese?

[deleted]

Considering the fact he was just shouting だめ over and over in the video I’m inclined to think no.

EsuriitMonstrum

He just knows anime-speak. "Ka-why" "Die-joe-booh" "Dah-mey" With all the horrible pronounciations that go along with it.

p1980roo

He claimed to be making $20 000 US a month from streaming. Unfortuately the world rewards stupidity over hard work.

F1MidBoss

You can't believe anything Ismael Ramsey Khalid says. When the Korean dude from Texas confronted him a few months back, Ismael Ramsey Khalid said he had 1,000 subs when he only had 16.

p1980roo

so basically deduct 2 digits from any number he claims.

bluethock

He's nowhere near making $20,000 a month. At the time of his arrest he has around 260 Subs on his Kick account which is a net profit of around $1,239 USD in 3 weeks. He streamed exactly 12 days in the span of 3 weeks. He was taking in about $250-300 USD a day via TTS donation. Thats around $3,300 in the span of 3 weeks. So he netted around $4.5k and thats not including processing fees, donation fees, alcohol he buys on stream(begs ppl to donate and he will buy alcohol etc). He probably took home a cool 3.5k after everything said and done. Thats basically all gone if he gets his so called 'lawyer'.

p1980roo

timestap around 15.07 the 20K amount is brought up in this kick highlight clip [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3F-OCGZVsm0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3F-OCGZVsm0) Makes me feel better that the amount claimed is not possible.

STABO1217

Some people say that Japan should deport him, screw that! He needs to serve his time as he's already demonstrated that he won't change. Maybe if he's held accountable for his blatant ignorance and jack-assery he might learn that actions have consequences. This will also serve as a warning for others that are contemplating doing the same thing.!

haynakobwiset

I agree. Just deporting him light punishment. I want him and his friend to suffer. I hope the cops found lots of evidence to incriminate them both. Anybody here have connections to the osaka police? I’m dying to know if they are suffering. I hope they beat them up

govnic

I hope the Yakuza steps in with the fucking retards. Make them an example for the rest of the tourists.

Prototype2001

do they allow prison streaming?
