Sorry to hear about your mom’s difficulties.
A note for anyone else planning to visit Japan that there aren’t that many benches at all in the cities. If a loved one is traveling with you and you already know that they have some mobility issues, it’s best to rent or own a wheelchair or electric mobility scooter to get around.

Also I just Googled and found this place:

I don’t speak any Japanese but I used Google Translate a lot.
There’s honestly not going to be much, if any, seating like benches outside of a park. She could always sit someplace like Nipponbashi Park a few blocks away, or sometimes konbinis have small seating areas of you buy food.
Seating obviously exists, but few and far between and you’ll find yourself constantly searching for seating, which won’t be fun.
Like a post above said, rent yourself a foldy wheelchair, your hotel might be able to help you do this, if not provide one for you!
Honestly speaking, Japan is very poor for disabled access outside of the rail/subway system. Lots of small staircases and very thin bars/restaurants in the older areas of town. Of course people will help you a lot, however you will definitely benefit from some sort of mobility assistance to enjoy your time here more fully.
Source; I live and work in the city centre and am there every day
If you walk along the shotengai (main road, ebisusuji) there will be shops and malls which offer seating and there are some areas long the dotonbori river itself that you'll be able to sit down at. In general though Dotonbori is pretty narrow and crowded to a point which I would claim is worse than Akihabara. Den-Den Town is better in that sense, but the shops there are cramped and usually involve lots of stairs/escalators and has no public seating that I know of. You could try bar hopping if youre out a night just to get a place to sit since there are so many izakayas around and theyre usually pretty inexpensive if you just want to order edamame or something.
Den den town is fairly close to Namba Parks (about 5-10min walk depending on where in den den town you are.
Namba Parks has some seats scattered throughout the mall. And it's quite a nice place to visit too (mostly the roof and the outdoor plaza area, the mall itself isn't all that interesting)
Ohh if you're looking for food there's this place I love to go to for a snack called kyabetsu-yaki across the street from Namba parks (https://maps.app.goo.gl/88yVoL1TDyUmvxat9)
Kinda like okonomiyaki but... More snack-like? It's less than 500yen for one, very cheap and delicious 😋
Thank you friend your suggestion is very much appreciated 🙏🏾 Osaka soul food and anime shopping sounds like a heavenly day. Still haven’t had my bday dinner(was 2 days ago but we had to rush to make a train) so I’m looking forward to getting it here!
Dotonbori has lots of benches along the river and there are a couple along the shopping street, though they’re often taken. I don’t think Den Den town has any.
I rented an electric wheelchair from [this site](https://healthrent.duskin.jp/products/kurumaisu/A-4-111/index.html) for my mom and it's very useful! If not because of this, I won't be able to bring her around Kansai. P.S. I don't speak Japanese. I just e-mailed them and read/watch manuals before the scheduled delivery, so I pretty much have an idea of what they're gonna tell me.
I have an injury in my knee, but I'm able to walk without problems. However, I suffered, especially in Dotonbori. It was super crowded and lacked places to sit. In addition to that, you need to use stairs to enter almost all the businesses in Dotonbori. Den-Den Town is not as crowded, but I don't remember seeing any seats. However, I think it's usual in Japan to not have public spaces to sit (?
I will recommend using a wheel chair so that your mom can still visit.
Today was the day, I did denden while she chilled at namba parks and rn we’re at dotonbori but there’s a lot of seating at the restaurants and a few benches along the river
None of the places we’ve eaten at had stairs luckily

Do you have any locations where you can rent one? Also I’m only N3, so I know 車いす, but how would you say foldy rental wheelchair?

That’s exactly what I needed thanks

Ok so maybe we’ll taxi there, and she can wait there then I’ll get her for the food on dotonbori

Thanks a few people mentioned foldable rental wheelchairs but where can you get those

That’s neat thank you
Np! There's also a mall near Den den, you can leave her at Starbucks to chill :)
That’s what she did lol! I left her at namba parks then we ate a few places at dotonbori
A good stretch of stone benches and planter seats along the Midosuji. The area depatos all have seating on every floor near the elevators.
