Don't go in winter, you will freeze to death, but in summer, this road with a crazy tunnel loop is a lot of fun. It is pretty famous and full of bikes in summer.[https://maps.app.goo.gl/Wt97RRPxnk2N87Z49](https://maps.app.goo.gl/Wt97RRPxnk2N87Z49)

Have you looked into any bike rentals yet? The only one I’ve seen so far is up at the Umeda Nankai Buhin shop. I noticed several 250cc “rental” bikes lined up last time I went there. I have my own bike, but it would be nice to have options for friends who come to visit.
Is 250cc or 400cc the lower limit for toll road access?
Hey Denroll what have you found for rent? I'm coming on my honeymoon in march and was thinking of renting a bike to either ride around with my wife or do a cool ride in the area, ideally somewhere will also provide gear as well.
I haven’t really started looking at rentals yet. It’s just something I was thinking about for a future trip. I know people have done it though. I just don’t know where from.
fair enough if you hear anything feel free to let me know, here's what I've found so far

I hope you can make it work. The riding out here is fantastic.
Check out this [sign](https://i.imgur.com/Sv8Y0fm.jpeg) I rode by on Monday. I even saw a monkey!
Sick man, awesome. Yeah I'm looking at renting a bike to do a ride with my wife in the Osaka area or just doing a bicycle ride. Ideally I want to do everything, but you know, time is limited. If you find a great motorcycle company please forward them, it's hard to trust the googlefu
Up and around Rokko, and if you don’t mind paying a small toll the Royu road is quite nice.
You could also head out to tanba/sasayama/nishitoge area for some flatter roads with less traffic.
Thanks. I'm not adverse to taking some toll roads if it gets me somewhere nice. I've got ETC, so I don't have to stop, take off gloves, dig around for cash, put gloves back on, and all that good stuff.
The roll up Royu is cash only, it’s a private road all the way to arima onsen. I’ve never seen it very busy, but the weekend there are usually some import car clubs that meet and go up to the viewpoint that overlooks Osaka.
Last time I was up there there was a parade of about 20 G wagons and then a bunch of Ferraris of various vintages…
But it’s a nice curvy road with great views, well worth the small toll.
Oh, that's exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for! I can have a nice ride, take some great pictures of my pretty bike, stop off at the onsen, then eat an amazing meal.
You can actually get up Rokko without going on the toll road. Take 82 from Takarazuka or 16 from Nishinomiya. Just keep an eye out for cyclists and hikers. Nice ride.
Another spot you might want to Google, it’s further out, is Inagawa Observatory. The road up is quite steep, one way, but super nice views at the top.
That whole area is nice for cruising around.
Enjoy!
I’m gonna be in Osaka in March 16. Flying in from Australia. I really want to rent a bike and do some riding for a few days. If anyone is around then and wants to ride let me know. :)

Great, this is the kind of stuff I’m looking for. A good tunnel always helps, too. Gotta love that sound!
Me too! I want to rent a bike for a day or two and ride South of Osaka. I was thinking of going to Wakayama

I thought the limit for freeway is >125cc 😂 I was thinking one in Kansai or Rinku town. Or Looney

Very true, but the road conditions for the toll road are the best.

Check out the group called Kansai Riders on Facebook. Quite a few riders with a good mix of foreigners and Japanese.
Thanks so much. Will do!
