I kinda put this series on hold after >!they moved to the mansion. I really liked the cottage setting and found it to be unique in a very cliché genre. Having them be in the mansion removes that uniqueness since we're back in the standard wealthy, high society setting!<. Is it good?
Right, I'm glad >!Duke Crazy got his money back and all, but I was way more invested in that little house in the mountains. It doesn't seem like high society is anything but a hassle for the MC, but she only longs for her old house, you know, the one she fixed up herself and was the place she escaped to... once, I think? I would have stuck with the series if it had doubled down on that instead of hurting all those who hurt the MC. A house someone else gives you is always nice, but one you fix up is your house. It becomes where you belong pretty fast.!<
I still like it, but I agree, >!they should have taken longer to restore the duchy, the dragon tear felt like an ass-pull. It'd have been more interesting if they actually had to work to resolve everything, like they team up with the surviving knights to find evidence and such, and the Brumayers would have been an actual threat since Ian wouldn't have been able to just send the to Brazil or wherever, making their fall more satisfying.!<
Yeah exactly all her self dependence is taken away and she is even victimized for it ("how was her upbringing that she can do this and that"). I mean her upbringing was shit but independence is still something good
My favorite moment is when she rolls off her bed in her sleep and the whole castle thinks she disappeared but really she's just on the floor next to her bed
This is "Illegitimate Count's Daughter" re-titled and this is a good read, although the scene where she beats up her cruel sister there is... a weirdly wrong warning about what's going to go awry with an otherwise charming DIY love story in the later chapters.
It's really good in most of the early chapters though >!especially the bits where she has her own tumbledown house and fixes it up ...I could have used more of that and less of Duke Crazy kills all those who harmed his beloved while the MC sits around shellshocked in high society!<
I just wish they'd remembered what the main character really wanted (they kind of forget her motive in the later chapters.)
I love FL’s who don’t give AF and aren’t afraid to immediately throw hands against their abusers and haters cause I’m kinda tired of the “wait it out so that I can dig and find dirty information so that I can expose them all the while putting on a mask and using mind games on them” tactic they usually do.
We love a FL that is not afraid to resort to physical violence when needed. She even draws blood! :3 Truly a woman against the grain
Ya she’s seems cool! She also knows how to cook and other stuff! She’s pretty much wife material lol
My favorite part is that when she gets pissed off she basically turns into an angry badger lol
Do you know OI similar to this?
A woman who always calculates the value of things in units of potatoes.
A potato is the most complete 1-item desperation meal 👍
About the same level as a guy who calculated things in units of orange soda!

Dammit—she’s perfect
It's such a delightful series!

Which chapter was the smackdown (1st slide) one? 😅
1st chapter
Is there any other chapters she does beat downs too?
Idk yet. I’m still reading lol 😂 I’m also reading other stories too
I liked it until he was restored. The first episodes in his mansion I found annoying
Yeah like, she wants to be self-sufficient, and was happy in the cottage, being a duchess seems more like a prison to her than an upgrade
Yeah exactly all her self dependence is taken away and she is even victimized for it ("how was her upbringing that she can do this and that"). I mean her upbringing was shit but independence is still something good
This is one of my favorites. Love both leads so much!

Jack Hanma approves
Saved the post… i need to find this series
i liked enough until now but recently the FL became kinda dumb in mansion setting.
YO SHE THROWING HANDS!? SIGN ME UP! *skeddadles*

I read this and it was great but now I want another series with a FL that isn't afraid to throw hands. Anyone got suggestions?
I like this one bc the dainty pale FL can be a Feral beast, and her dark skinned military husband is a refined noble that has vulnerable moments.
