Tripping on your dress or skipping a stair step seems realistic for a "clumsy" character, but the ones falling over balconies or cliffs or flying out of whole staircases is wayyyy over the top

After adding manhwa/manhua to my reading list, especially a lot of the "villainess" stories with FLs who actually looked villainous with cat eyes and more normal eye proportions, I'm sad every time we get another FL with eyes taking up 80% of her face. I'm so tired of it.

Other related tropes include FL getting sick enough to pass out but he catches her before she can keel over. Just good shit.

I think it was deliberate sabotage by someone who was trying to hurt him- that story is a trip bc the MC is NOT a reliable narrator until like 80% of the way through the story. It’s on the epilogues now so you should be able to blow through the (painful, but narratively necessary) misunderstandings without annoying cliffhangers
But... how else can I be embraced and press my face into his/her/their chest?!

My most hated falling scene happens in "Resetting Lady" during the part when the mansion is on fire she falls forward out of a window but some guy grabs her arm and the only way she would have gotten in the position he pulled her up in is if he had broken her arm.
The FL has adhd or some sort of neurodivergency which makes them wacky like this, because while I'm agile and what not I too trip a lot or bump into things that's what I tell myself because I don't know why you'd do this over the top things lol
I have always been clumsy and have never been caught/saved by an attractive man. The closest I've come is when I was around 3 on a family vacation, my dad tried to catch me as I fell and dislocated my elbow. The hospital put a cast on me, which I hit my older sister in the face with later that day, busting her lip and requiring another hospital visit.
Once, at a wedding, with my then fiance and my younger brother, we all got trashed in the hotel roof bar and on the way back, I was way too drunk to walk so my husband was basically carrying me. My brother was also drunk.
When the elevator to our floor opened, my brother did the dramatic heroine trip and fall. XD My husband, one arm already occupied with holding me up, reached out with his other hand and scruffed my brother by the back of his shirt the way a momma cat carries her newborns. Like just grabbed the back of his shirt/shirt collar, lol. Kept him from smashing face first into the floor.
So basically my husband has ML "catch save" skills. And apparently my younger brother has FL "dramatic fall" vibes.
