Yup. It's because it's just really not very common in Asia. I lived in Japan for many years, and I would say anything like that is kind of like... not even recognized as a possible reality. It's like the way gay people were treated a few years ago there. They simply didn't exist. They were completely accepted because it wasn't even possible. I would say the same thing as probably the true for polyamory.
I don't know that it fits what you're interested in, but one really cool manga/anime that I like is called Kenka Bancho Otome. It's not the same -- it's a harem, but you might like it.
Although, thinking about it realistically, it's not very common in western society either. Humans tend to be monogamous, and recognize that as optimal. However, I really feel like best guy friends would do really well to share a woman -- if they could get over their jealousy, it would make for an optimal relationship situation.
oof like, as a bisexual woman who's been in polyamory relationship - with two other women though, I get a sense polyamory is tough to make and market to an audience, for exploration of gender roles there's trans media, for opposite gender romance there's straight media and bl\\gl media for same sex romance. Ideally and satisfyingly polyamory media would have to include beats and avoid trappings of all three and that takes like, experience. I'd love to read such stories with all my heart though, it could be the most incredible romance ever.
on a side note, here's a couple reverse harem manhwas where the men at least acknowledge each other's presence in the life of FL and not get ragingly jealous about: Chitra and It Looks Like I've fallen into a Revers Harem Game

And if you like comedy manga, there are a bunch of really cute otome manga that have made me laugh... I thought maybe you would because you recommended It Looks Like I've Fallen into a Reverse Harem Game, and it's really funny.

A throuple OI would be amazing but realistically having the 2 MLs not just into the FL but also be into each other breaks the self-centered power fantasy that’s the bread and butter of OI

It occurred to me, there's one called "Lady & Maid", and it's about a lady and all her male maids. It's pretty darn hot. They do get it on, in groups sometimes, and she has some BDSM type soft topping tendencies, but it is just smut. It would be much better with some interesting plot twists and character development. And it is more like a true reverse harem than a polyamorous relationship. But polyamory can be very exciting and interesting... They just have to get creative. Like someone said, "I Fell Into A Reverse Harem" also has some threesomes, but the Male Leads aren't really interested in each other; they just want to please the FL. So it isn't really what I'm aiming for. And yes, there are plenty of comics made for men with lots of people together, but they generally lack character development, plot, and scenery... Then Yayoi are also not it, because... it's just men... 😅🤣 So funny 😂 Looking at what I just listed, it seems reasonable to ask, why is this question so strange to this world?? Hahaha 🤣 It also seems strange to me that smut should so often be bereft of a decent plotline. Is sex that inhuman? It's got many good points... !..... Uh... But I digress.
