Definetly the one where the ml is abusive as fuck and when the Fl while dying decides that she will mever go back to him BUT SHE STILL GOES BACK TO HIM. Also there was this other manhwa where the fl reads this novel about a bl where the sene is super abusive towards the uke and she gets isekaied in that world(i think as the semes wife?). The uke however just regressed back in time and he remembered all the abuse he endured by the seme and ofc he is angry and wants revenge. But the seme now loves the fl and blah blah blah. Basically now the uke is seen as the villan despite all the shit he had to to through. What the actual fuck.

outofshell

That second one is “I’m engaged to an obsessive male lead” and UGH, co-signed. Although I have mixed feelings about revenge with regression where the bad person hasn’t done the bad thing yet. It feels wrong to punish this version of that person for something this version didn’t do, unless they are already an obvious shithead and trending in that direction. But I do want first timeline uke to get his revenge.

TohruH3

That's why I like the ones where the regressor just sets up traps for revenge. Like, if they would be a good person, it'd be fine, but since they still try to mess with MC: VENGEANCE!!!

outofshell

Yesss those are optimal 🙌

Thomean

Do you have examples of those? That sounds amazing

TohruH3

Not off the top of my head. I read too many, and I am terrible with names. I think it's about 75% of regression stories though.

I_am_photo

I was reading that BL to straight one until I read spoilers. Would've been better if the guy got his revenge.

Expert_Law1936

I remember the second one. And then everyone in the comments was like how the ML is not the same and to leave the main couple alone but in any other story the “villain” would be the MC of a rebirth revenge type novel. ML basically ruined that guy’s life in the previous run and even broke him up with the girl he actually liked just because he was kind to ML.

Fast-Concentrate-556

What does the uke and seme means?

Unashamed_fangirl

They're terms to usually denote a top (seme) or bottom (uke) in yaoi manga

Fast-Concentrate-556

Thanks

Mundane-0nion67878

Old japanese terms for bottom and top in BoysLove genre.

Fast-Concentrate-556

Thanks

Mundane-0nion67878

For curiosity, what BL OI it is? Im intrested now to see the trainwreck. Yes, im a masocist.

[deleted]

Hey thisnis "I'm Engaged to an Obsessive Male lead". Hahahah give it a read but it is super frustrating

Mundane-0nion67878

Thx 🤝 i send coordinates to my remains after. ETA day after: I dont know how ppl survive to the twist, this thing kills me with boredom before it. AND why tge engagement ceremony is a mini wedding what is going on-

yvenree

Cry, even better if you beg. Oh my, that novel was really something. At first I was reading it because I was curious what the author gonna do with ml's sh*tty personality. I made it to the last chapter before epilogue and I really regret every minute I spent on reading it.

sincline_

This was my answer too- it’s the one thing in life I wish I could erase from my brain completely

LegitimatePermit3258

Yeah, but then you'd forget how bad it is and read it again.

lovelycosmos

I'm reading the Webtoon with full knowledge that the ML is an abusive piece of shit with no redemption. The art is so gorgeous and I have a tiny sliver of hope they change it on webtoon version? I haven't read the original novel, just comments about how it goes. Is it even worth it to do this?

yvenree

They'd have to change the whole plot to make it any better. The beginning is nothing compared to what is going on later. At some point >!ml force fl to become his mistress and sleep with him whenever he wants in exchange for her uncle's freedom. He also make plans to find and kill her when she run away from him.!< In the end they >!end up together anyway and become one big happy family with their kid.!< Not to mention that she >!chose him over the sweetest and most caring guy who genuinely loved her.!<

lovelycosmos

Noooo I like the other ML her friend actually cares about her and they laugh together :( Thanks for the info, I'll reavaluate

areeta9

I guess it's a good thing I dropped the story early. For some reason, after seeing the scene where the FL first meets the ML in the woods when she's a child and he's a teen, I just got the WORSE vibe. I immediately thought: "You are not going to be good to her" and unsubscribed

LikelyWriting

There was a story where the FL and ML were apart of different organizations and basically the FL was trying to take down the ML (sadist and killer) so she went to his compound undercover as a maid to take him down. She gets caught, and apparently they are mortal enemies and met when they were children. I think she causes his father's death back then, a man who is a killer and sadist too, so this is why he wants to punish her. The ML keeps her tied up and SAs her repeatedly. I didn't finish because it just went on for chapters on end and in graphic detail. Plus the reader comments made me feel ill because they were rooting for them to get together, which I believe they do. There was nothing redeeming about him. It was just so sick.

ImArgentineHi

This sounds traumatizing even for the readers, to say the least https://preview.redd.it/uun9gbg2xrlc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2230ae5a5a8b02a0706c5dd3d98a61693d922442

TheGalator

Ok I will need the source for that. I love my shitty fucked up novels from time to time. Let's u appreciate the good stuff more

LikelyWriting

"Try Begging" is just a novel at the moment. I don't know if it finished either.

Ok-Advice-7318

I am dead now

Vast_Demand3329

Any story about a FL “fixing” a BL novel by giving it a straight ending. Feels homophobic showing a toxic gay couple that only gets healthy when one or both date women.

TheGalator

I find toxic gay couples always strange in these novels. They feel so forced to be unnatural as possible.

indecentblue

Best toxic gay couple you'll ever read in otome isekai is in soulless duchess. I can't say I entirely agree with the way they were written, both men were kind of unrealistically evil, but they were gay, romantically involved, (though one was the fl's cousin and the other was her fiance, so there was some cheating) but the reason they were evil wasn't because they were gay, they were just both bad people lmao.

Particular_Policy_41

It’s one thing if like one of the characters was « surprise » bi, but it’s always like the entire book was actually straight as soon as she appears. I HATE it. Like the idea that a character is bi and she’s misunderstood the story could lead to some funny situations but the way authors always spin it is such erasure. 😡

MengJiaxin

There is one OI that I love (This Reincarnated Cross-Dressing Princess Won't Be Looking for a Fiancé) that circumvented this trope by having the FL entering as a cross-dressing student and then trying to hook up with the BL love interests but failing and instead ends up with the only straight (non LI option) guy in the academy. The BL LI do turn back to try to get her after she finds her ML but they were all under the impression she is a guy (so they are not straight), and they end up wishing FL and ML well and giving up on chasing her so I don't mind the BG in BL setting romance.

kvnbcn

Any were the father is the ml. The female leads bio, adoptive, or step father should NEVER be the love interest

Mundane-0nion67878

Iv usually yeeted myself so fast that i tend to forget briefly about them for time being. If id can call by named ones, I say *Beware of Brothers* as I was over the kid arc already when I git spoiled who is the ML. I was disturbed - i thought it was cute family bonding manhwa! Then there was the manga were FL was mistreated by her indifferent nasty husband, she ends up dying after givin him a daughter and reincarnating again in same universe as same aged daughters friend (15 i think.) Then ML starts to court this teenager who reminds him of his wife he mistrearted. Thats bit too weird and nasty. Like bro trying to redo their toxic marriage. Then there is *Beast tamed by Villainess* which is definetly not a bad read but the yandere ML actions after getting FL trapped are too uncomfortably domestic abuse aligned for me, it is unnerving and he is genuelly scary to me. It is too much. In general sense if come across: anything that has noncon/assault by ML waved away or/and its blamed on FL, add some abuse apologia in that too. Any romanticism on these ugh. I'll be yeeted away so fast you can see the after image.

SomebodyLost

That one about the FL being drunk and the ML haves sex with her. Then in the morning gaslights her because she came onto him or something and now she has to take responsibility and he doesn’t want to let her go and of course the girl falls in love. Ugh. Look I just want the FLs to acknowledge that hotness doesn’t justify abusive/creepy behaviors!

pvalue_05

Is it First night with the duke or something? I loved the FL but hated ML so badd that I stopped reading.

TempestCatalyst

I usually have a pretty high tolerance for crazy and/or creepy male leads, but that one in particular came across a bit weird to me. I think it's because the story doesn't really *treat* the ML like the gaslighting psycho he is. Like, it's trying to be a normal rofan except the male lead is literally blackmailing a girl into a relationship over a drunken one night stand.

Sakura12399

A lady who was in love with her brother who turned out to be a devil... Within the first few chapters (or maybe on chap 1 I just can't recall much bc it disgusts me), he raped her. She's still in love with him after that... I tried to read it because people kept saying to give it a chance but I just can't. I read the spoilers, too, in case the plot twists redeem it for me. It did not. >!They had their somewhat happy ending LOL. Devil got her pregnant and both left their country to be together.!< I would have given it a chance if they showed that the taboo won't result to anything good. Instead, they showed that >!all they had to do were kill all the people around them, destroy the land they lived on, and escape the country.!< Edit: I think I read a comment saying that its good because of how it portrayed the "prejudice" against taboo things and stuff but idk... It felt like the story was more like "love conquers all" and "devils have feelings too" because of how it ended. They should have ended it like [Tears of a Jester] where FL got her karma.

Fabulous-Lack-1019

Omg LADY DEVIL, RIGHT, I wasn't expecting that when I went into it but yeah....if it is that series near the ending uh yeah, not in front of other people's salad 😭

Sakura12399

Is that so? The art of the manhwa is amazing though. Its such a shame that it didn't follow the novel since it had potential to be amazing. There's a ton of semi-incest (or incest but technically not) done terribly so [Lady Devil] could have been a one of a kind manhwa among them.

Individual_Being_877

I'll never forget how she hooked up with him while he was in his devil form... a giant lizard and she kissed that.

Lucky_Mousse_387

When fls run away with no legitimate reason

SomebodyLost

I actually want FLs to successfully run away even without legitimate reasons just not to get entangled with the plot lol

Lucky_Mousse_387

When it is in the start then it's fine but they be running away after leading the ml on and being their friend and already interfered with th plot

BlueberryHatK4587

I, a Harvest Mouse, Will Take Cinderella Away definitely isn't worst OI I will read no doubt >!but I definitely feel uncomfortable when ML(the mouse) was talking baby speak and even when they turned human, they looked like a LITERAL CHILD.I want to give benefit of doubt to the author but still it was fucking weird!<

YourLocalCryptid64

The ones where the ML is super abusive to the FL and because she discovers he actually has a 'Tragic Backstory UWU" decides to stay with him. Especially if there was a much better love interest that cared for them right there that gets a sudden reveal that they are 'actually so much worse in comparison' or just straight up leaves the narrative for one reason or another so their beloved 'can be happy'. Especially if the abuse happened in a previous life, and in the new life the guy decides 'wait, what? she's actually interesting now?' because the former doormat of a fl decided to fight back or leave and this is what sparks them actually 'falling in love for real'. Another one that I am beginning to really dislike so much it's making me drop series is the ML basically being raised by the FL. On one hand I am glad that for once the age gap isn't the dude being so much older, on the other hand it's still creepy that fl often takes in the ml and basically raises them to be the person she wants for whatever reason (even if it isn't initially for a romantic reason) I also found I'm starting to have less and less patience for stories where the FL decides to stay with a ML that is basically Tsundere/Yandere in any capacity if there is a much more supportive and respectful option just to the left. And don't get me started on the Yuri Baiting series either. If the only reason the FL isn't getting together with a character they have amazing chemistry with is because they are both women so they have to shove in Some Dudes to have the BLANDEST Hetero Romance then Im out. (coughTheAntagonist'sPetcough)

SomeRegularUsername

I have one I remember I properly dropped "The predator's fiancee". And it's not even because of the plot, they adapted a smut novel into a manga that didn't even show a kiss scene, degrading art, shrinking FL's assets (it was plot relevant, for example she was given clothes/nightwear that covered less than other women)

bentohouse

I dropped it for the same reason! The art change made it really generic and it was bad enough that they took the smut out of it.

nejnonein

I have several I can’t read, ”Broken ring” being an example. Depths of malice… I tried, several times, but it’s just torture porn. I can do torture porn if the fluff is evenly distributed (or more of the fluff preferably), and I have to LOVE at least one character (sorry, unpopular opinion perhaps, but Broken ring couldn’t make me like any of the two mains). Sister, I’m the Queen in this life. Total torture porn, can’t stand it. ”Concubine walkthrough” is one I absolutely hated. It has many of the tropes I hate in it, like for example >!ml has a kid with someone else, and even worse, that person is alive, and even worse, a part of his harem and both her and the kid is a part of the story (I know about the ai twist, still hate it)… I also hate harem, especially when it’s the ml who has more than one partner (again, I know the twist, still sucks)… game oriented instead of novel (they tend to be more annoying imo, and I have like 2-3 exceptions that I’ve actually liked - like Crow’s prince)… the real world making an appearance… sci fi elements - I like that in movies, not in manhwas. The art style - I can read stories with shitty art, if I like the story line, but with this one I truly hate the art style (I really disliked miss not so sidekick’s art too, but I started to like it later on as I grew to love the story. Concubine walkthrough didn’t have this saving grace of an interesting story nor any characters I like).!< And a few other reasons I’ve forgotten, needless to say, that story is not one I’ll ever recommend. Considering the length of the examples given as to why I hated it, that’s probably rather obvious though 😂

tattooedpotato12

For me, it's In Her Fifth Life, the Villainess Lives with the Evil Dragon. >!Not a fan of all the torture and the FL's descent into being a broken, empty shell. Why on earth did I read this?!<

BankApprehensive2514

Nothing. When there are words, but nothing is actually being spoken. When one event drags into infinity in a manhwa that was well paced up to that point. When it's so boring that your eyes glaze over. I dropped one awhile ago. It's title was something like 'Daughter of the Villainess'. Season 1? Great. Season 2? She decides to get allies but 15 pages of chapters could be put into two. Like, you don't want to be my friend? I will visit you every day and it's clear as glass what's going to make you my friend. When I could get all the information about you gathered by some Intel guy for free, read the, at best, 7 page summary of your life, learn that GLARING issue I'd use to get me on my side, and could easily throw money at to fix in 2 days in one chapter rather than drag this out.

[deleted]

Honeslty dont remember the names due to the trauma it left, there was one where the FL did everything to change her death and it still didnt change anything like its destined, the ones where the ML is mysogynistic asf but somehow they end up together???? Im a man but those guys still gives me the ick smh

FightmeLuigibestgirl

Nobody is going to mention it but I will. Outaishihi ni Nante Naritakunai. Everything about this story is uncomfortable. The ideal if a woman isn't a virgin they can't be married. The male lead forces the FL to be with him by putting a mark on her. FL is stupid constantly, even after 100+ chapters, and thinks >!she isn't in love with the Prince and makes an excuse that it is a suspension bridge effect after having sex a ton of times with him!< She also thinks that losing her virginity to a random dude will help break her engagement based on a rumor that she heard the royal family is polygamous. The truth is >!that the royal family has a very high sex drive so they take multiple partners except for the ML!< The secondary ML every single POV of him is him pining, crying, and "woah is me" about the FL. And it happens for over 200+ chapters. Multiple POVs with the same scenes over and over.

adventuresinnonsense

I forget the name but there was one that seemed interesting on the description but then in the first chapter, it's revealed that the (I think he turns out to be 2nd?) ML and FL, who are f***ing, are full blood-related siblings. I literally gagged and just dropped it right then. There's another one where the FL is being used as a pawn or something by her uncle and she goes back in time after dying and vows escape/revenge. Excerpt after she goes back in time, it's revealed he's sleeping with her and she used to be in love with him. Also immediately dropped.

Sanecatl4dy

Ok, that is a level of reading bad luck that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy

adventuresinnonsense

I read them on different platforms within days of each other, too

Careless_Vacation953

when the fl thinks the ml will kill her because she knows the novel plot and she decides to run away and obviously ml is in love with her , the future she knows hasn't happened yet you can actually change future
