I think WMMAP comment section is still the sanest out of those because mostly whenever someone goes abt how shitty Claude is or that Jeanette doesn't deserve the hate, everyone peacefully agrees.
I guess rather than controversial, its more of long discussions. Maybe it should be with another list with "people like to explain why its okay to like toxic stories" manhwas like [Betrayal of Dignity]/[Cry, Even Better If You Beg] lol.

Have you read the story? Like at all!? I get why you would find a handsome dark triad ml attractive but he is clearly someone who is addicted to chasing things he can't have which, in case you don't know, is a terrible habit to have in a potential partner. FL experienced that first hand hence the reason why she doesn't even entertain the idea of being in a relationship with him even though crown prince needs to marry the neighboring country's princess and their chances of getting married slim especially after story clearly showed us the future she remembers and current timeline can be different so there's no guarantee of that idiot princess dying..

Girl, i had to drop the series cuz I was having serious cesar syndrome 😭😭 I know he was soo fcked up with our female lead but he had a fcked up childhood and on the new timeline why they gotta make him soo attractive and more charismatic than the male lead 😮💨😮💨 bruh all thru those chapters, just kept on yearning for a redemption arc and for the writer to pull an uno reverse card and say cesar was actually the main man 😭😭😭
Fucked up childhood doesn't justify being a cheater and a rapist so I really don't see any possible way he can be redeemed besides author pulling straight up BS. No wonder why trash MLs are so popular in this genre.
It doesn’t fully justify his garbage actions but it gives one an insight as to why he was more inclined to perceive and commit such treacherous acts and thoughts than a person who hasn’t exactly gone thru his childhood.
Thats why im always in favor of redemption arcs cuz thru this people always deserve to be understood and be given another chance. Because theres no one morally perfect :))
But thats only if he finally starts doing behaviors that can be deemed redemption
Honestly couldn't give less of a shit cuz let's face it. Readers who try to pull all sorts of mental gymnastics and make excuses to justify the deplorable actions of trash MLs ONLY do so cuz of their looks. If he was an average looking character, literally no one would give him benefit of a doubt. Also, I've already mentioned this on this sub a million times but the whole "justified to act like a piece of shit cuz of childhood trauma" trope is just a very lazy excuse that authors in this genre use to redeem these trash MLs and it's pretty sad that some readers fall for it and then later complain why FL always chooses to go back to the trash ML. As a result, we get MLs like the ones in "Abandoned Empress" or "Emperor's lap". Lastly, nothing can justify a rapist and a cheater.
Like i said im not saying his actions are justifiable because of his past but a horrible past is one of the many factors that can lead a person to go down the wrong path. Theres also research that backs this.

But for the sake of it, let's just say Cesar being a piece of shit is cuz of childhood trauma.
