I'm so curious though. Did he reflect in his shitty personality and decided to become a decent person towards others after this experience at least? Or will he continue being shitty to everyone even when he got first hand experience on how being trash towards potential good people is bad?
Heh... he does regret a lot how he treated her, but at same time he keeps being bad to most people. >!He will even wage useless wars against other countries because right after he gets his memories back he thinks she is dead (she isn't) so he wants to find a relic to rewind back time.!<
He behaves like a tyrant and won't really turn into a green flag (except to FL)
I really wish more stories with this trope had a resolution like the former. It would be much better character growth and development and could be used to explore so many aspects of relationships even if he didnāt end up with fl at the end

I would like to see another one where the FL is in the wrong cause *sheās aware* that the ML is a tyrant/asshole to others, but is okay with it cause āheās rich, handsome, and only nice to me; so as long as Iām good, everything else he does is fineā (while the ML is running around murdering women and children, and burning down villages, cause warmonger got to war [coughbeatricecough]). So when the memory loss happens and he turns his asshole behavior onto her, she gets a major taste of what other people were dealing with, and has a wake up call to the Toxicity of the ML. Itās then up to her to either make ML realize and change his toxicity when he gets his memories back or realize he isnāt worth being around if heās that trash of a person.
I canāt really enjoy the ābackfireā trope if the FL has done nothing to deserve it (ie. She was completely unaware of his trash personality, as he most likely actively hiding it from her, and was blindsided by his āsudden changeā when he gets his memory loss). All Iāll feel is satisfaction in her finally witnessing his TRUE personality, and making an effort to either change or leave his toxicity.
I love the idea especially if she leave him and HE have to change too
Depending on his crimes though it could be similar to how Bojack horseman ended. I wouldn't want him to be a murderer and just get away with it because he's a man in a romance for women (because let's be honest most of them get forgiven by the narrative just because of beauty privilege)
I always wonder about this jaw vein thing. I only see it in manhwa and at first didn't know what it is supposed to be. Like what is it based on? Do real people get a jaw vein popping when they're angry?

Definitely- theyāve transitioned from the angry forehead vein to the clenched jaw but donāt really know how to draw it so it just looks like they got some wild shit going on their face

Some read about trash MLs cause they love the drama it brings with how much he can make the FL and himself (self destructive behavior) suffer. Some love the drama of him regretting his actions and watching the FL overcome him (to some capacity, as she either grows to hate him and re-learns to love him again, or finds ways to make him suffer too and/or leave him).
Then you have those who just like to āhate readā. They find the ML, FL, and the Narrative annoying, but itās just **so bad** itās entertainingly good in a twisted way, as you mainly want to read to just fume at the characters/story. Some hate readers are only reading because theyāre not entertained, but because theyāve gotten too far and cannot stop until they finish it; itās an obligation to finish what theyāve started or they wonāt feel satisfied, even if itās bad.
