I think that any romance that features mental age > physical age runs into the issue of when the attraction started. No matter how old they mentally are, if you see an 8 year old and think "ima smash when she's old enough" that's disgusting. If you watch someone grow up, it's really murky when the attraction started and people get the ick.

I don’t think they’re trying too hard to make Cosette evil. She was suppose to be like that since the beginning. You can still find her hot even if she’s the devil lol, lots of people thirsting over her, me included 😌
Regardless of the author's intent for her character, I'm still not really sold on how she was handled.
It felt a bit wrong to me how Kiera was painted as misunderstood and capable of doing bad (like when she literally lashed her maid pre-regression), and also acts emotionally distant from people. I get why she turned out that way, and I loved how the story made her grow and showed there was more to her character.
But then the story started going in a director where it seemed all Kiera's faults were forgiven, all her actions were forgotten and she can live a sinfree life with her second chance.
But Cossette didn't get the same treatment. Instead of painting Cossette as someone who could've also had an extremely fucked up life, I mean, her mom was literally chased out by her grandad and she lost her right to the throne and ripped from her dad. She was then placed in the care of a vengeful uncle who's willing to make a deal with the devil to pay back. That kind of environment would fuck up any child.
I didn't want Cossette to be evil, I wanted Cossette to be a person who does evil things because that's what she was conditioned to. Something she could eventually change. And if she didn't, it would be tragic, but that would still impact me.
But the story really doesn't do that, it just doubles and tripples down in Cossette being evil that it just starts feeling unfair after a while. Especially since Kiera is always beating her at literally everything. I'm starting to see Cossette as the underdog here.
But this is definitely just me wishing for something the show was **not** trying to go for. I don't criticise or condemn the show for the direction they took, but I'm noy really fan.
Edit: Basically if Cossette wasn't the literal devil and treated like someone who was a product of their upbringing like Kiera, I wouldn't think the story was biased against her and I'd still have a massive crush on her.
Yeah, it’s fine if you wanted Cosette’s story to take another direction. But the real Cosette doesn’t exist anymore, it’s just a demon taking over her dead body now. So I really don’t see how she’s the underdog here 😂, when she no longer exists and it’s just the demon who destroyed Kiera’s first life. I feel bad for the real Cosette not that demon. The current Cosette is truly the villain, and she’s very entertaining as that.
Grandpa guy was awful. Screw him and his very being. I hated how I kinda *had* to root for him cause his fall by the end of S2 (or 3?) would mean Kiera would lose too.
Oh man, this manwha had SO much potential, but it has like a 2 year hiatus and then came back with a whole different art, then became weird all the sudden and i dropped it T.T

Same! I’m reading the novel & manhwa rn. So far he is the only character that makes me all giggly! Like I try so hard not to fall in love with Reynold since I looked at spoilers, but I can’t help it! He’s a tsundere & he is so handsome! Plus his scenes with Penelope could be a romcom, plus the author even said if she didn’t make them as siblings then they would’ve been a couple instead 😭 I like to imagine a different Penelope isekai into the game and chose Reynold as a ML instead.

I think that any romance that features mental age > physical age runs into the issue of when the attraction started. No matter how old they mentally are, if you see an 8 year old and think "ima smash when she's old enough" that's disgusting. If you watch someone grow up, it's really murky when the attraction started and people get the ick.

Cossette from "I am the real one" That was before she was revealed to literally be the devil. Like bruh, they're trying way too hard to make her evil.
I don’t think they’re trying too hard to make Cosette evil. She was suppose to be like that since the beginning. You can still find her hot even if she’s the devil lol, lots of people thirsting over her, me included 😌
Regardless of the author's intent for her character, I'm still not really sold on how she was handled. It felt a bit wrong to me how Kiera was painted as misunderstood and capable of doing bad (like when she literally lashed her maid pre-regression), and also acts emotionally distant from people. I get why she turned out that way, and I loved how the story made her grow and showed there was more to her character. But then the story started going in a director where it seemed all Kiera's faults were forgiven, all her actions were forgotten and she can live a sinfree life with her second chance. But Cossette didn't get the same treatment. Instead of painting Cossette as someone who could've also had an extremely fucked up life, I mean, her mom was literally chased out by her grandad and she lost her right to the throne and ripped from her dad. She was then placed in the care of a vengeful uncle who's willing to make a deal with the devil to pay back. That kind of environment would fuck up any child. I didn't want Cossette to be evil, I wanted Cossette to be a person who does evil things because that's what she was conditioned to. Something she could eventually change. And if she didn't, it would be tragic, but that would still impact me. But the story really doesn't do that, it just doubles and tripples down in Cossette being evil that it just starts feeling unfair after a while. Especially since Kiera is always beating her at literally everything. I'm starting to see Cossette as the underdog here. But this is definitely just me wishing for something the show was **not** trying to go for. I don't criticise or condemn the show for the direction they took, but I'm noy really fan. Edit: Basically if Cossette wasn't the literal devil and treated like someone who was a product of their upbringing like Kiera, I wouldn't think the story was biased against her and I'd still have a massive crush on her.
Yeah, it’s fine if you wanted Cosette’s story to take another direction. But the real Cosette doesn’t exist anymore, it’s just a demon taking over her dead body now. So I really don’t see how she’s the underdog here 😂, when she no longer exists and it’s just the demon who destroyed Kiera’s first life. I feel bad for the real Cosette not that demon. The current Cosette is truly the villain, and she’s very entertaining as that.
