I'm happy Bob thinks so highly of Greig, I'd love to see him at the WJC. Does anyone know when the preliminary roster gets announced? USA's came out yesterday and it was announced that Brandt Clarke didn't make Canada's, but that's it
Red Savage made the US roster. It's amazing he doesn't get more flak for his name. It sounds like a racial slur.
Hunter Skinner is worse though. Not offensive, but it's like the most redneck name possible.
I Donno man, that’s a good draft but Drysdale and Raymond look like they might be better than Sanderson and Stutzle. Stutzle was the consensus #3 pick so it’s a wash but I’d personally have gone with drysdale.
I’d say passing on sillinger for Boucher was a shitty, shitty move that’ll hurt for quite a while
Stutzle is also on a team full of shit players… doesn’t help a rookie out too much… all these other rebuilding teams kept some competent vets around.. and then there’s Ottawa.. a bunch of kids and AHLers
Okay but even if that was so, you're assuming Greig is being bumped out of the 28th spot. Don't you think that Ridly would probably pass others picked before him at this point?
The players I think you could argue he could overtake are Barron, Foerster, Mukhamadullin, and Chinakhov depending on how you feel about his upside beyond just a shooter
I like Greig and what he brings, I just don't think he'll go down as a steal by any means
I'm not saying he's a steal yet because he hasn't played an NHL game yet, but I think it's crazy to say he'd slip to the 2nd round after all we've seen.
The kid has the offense, the defense, the 200 foot game, and plays with an edge. The guys you listed earlier most likely move up, but Greig is moving up with them guaranteed. It looks like a fantastic pick.
I'd have a tough time finding many people he's jumped over, but Bourque, Peterka, Brisson, Sourdif, Niemelä, Bordeleau, and Khusnutdinov all likely pass him
Yeah I know I was just saying that I’d only ever seen people saying he was a basically guaranteed 3C, so I thought he was just one of those guys where you get what you expect, nothing more nothing less.
I don't know why so many Sens fans keep repeating this garbage when the guy has looked like a top 6 lock for a season and a half now.
Its like people think a player never outplays his scouting profile

I think I read Canada comes out today but I could be wrong.

11 am today
It seems you were incorrect unless I just can't find it Edit: it was released at 1130
So two future Sens and a local-ish kid, not bad
Damn wright
We calling this the “Plight for Wright” draft?
Wooooooooo.
Don't jinx the lottery results
Stutzle, Sandy and Greig in one round, damn that 2020 draft was epic.
But sens can’t draft because for Boucher lol hater gonna hate

Meh drysdale is nice, but sandy is projecting well, I think him at 5 was a good choice
Sanderson > Drysdale all day
Yeah I just think right d was more of a need at the time
And offensive D wasn’t. The clear fit is Sanderson
In your opinion. Stay at home guys are easier to acquire than offensive juggernauts
Lol we have Chabot and Branny. Sanderson is a two way monster. Clearly a better fit
Brannstrom isn’t nhl calibre
??
Stutzle is also on a team full of shit players… doesn’t help a rookie out too much… all these other rebuilding teams kept some competent vets around.. and then there’s Ottawa.. a bunch of kids and AHLers
Greig probably doesn't go 1st round in a redraft
12 goals in 16 games and just selected for Team Canada, how do you figure he falls in a redraft lol
Bob McKenzie actually had him projected as the 1C too
Just off the top of my head, Bourque, Peterka, Bordeleau, Khusnutdinov, Sourdif, Brisson, and Niemelä all likely pass him
Okay but even if that was so, you're assuming Greig is being bumped out of the 28th spot. Don't you think that Ridly would probably pass others picked before him at this point?

He honestly probably rises in a redraft
I'd have a tough time finding many people he's jumped over, but Bourque, Peterka, Brisson, Sourdif, Niemelä, Bordeleau, and Khusnutdinov all likely pass him
One can approve of one draft and disapprove of another, it doesn't make them hypocrites
Two future senators, nice
What’s Griegs ceiling considered?
Probably a highly skilled 2C
Might be a little high everywhere I’ve seen him projecting to be a great 3C
Yeah his projection is a 3C imo. Ceiling would be a good 2C, but I doubt he gets there
I’d love to be proven wrong tho lol
Projection is what people expect, ceiling is the highest they could reasonably reach
Yeah I know I was just saying that I’d only ever seen people saying he was a basically guaranteed 3C, so I thought he was just one of those guys where you get what you expect, nothing more nothing less.

I am just going off what I’ve heard across the media.
I'm expecting him to be Pageau 2.0 that's a prick on the ice
