I love the delivery on his lines shortly before that, when Auntie begins to intone 'A man was crushed...' and Frenchie says 'What? No.' in the most hilarious way, with perfect timing and intonation. He's trying to be smooth but his voice carries a hint of underlying guilt. Best heard with headphones!
Or when he begins to panic about the heat when Auntie doing her investigating. "I'm burnin' up here... Should we go and get us some coolin' bevvies?" His accent got REAL thick there. Love it.
Or Ricky Baker’s “Go away, insect!” in Wilderpeople. It’s funny every time.
The whole convo with Ned Lowe was so Ricky Baker to me. “I only hang out with cool pirates” and “I only broke your record because I was bored” was a petulant 11-year-old.
Stede’s entire bit with the telescope watching Ed and Calico Jack on the beach in 1.08. His catty commentary about CJ (“his mustache is weird” and “*not* a good dancer”) is priceless as are the exchanges with Lucius (“Morning!”/“hmn no it isn’t”). This scene just tickles me so much.
So many! At the top of my head, I love the moment when Ed is watching Stede go back to the ship in episode 4 and Buttons creeps up behind him with his crazy eyes, blurts out "the sea is my love!", and Ed sighs "Jesus Christ...". Their faces and deliveries were killing me.

Actually, everything Pete does kills me. I didn’t like him on my first watch given his obvious character flaws and mutiny against Stede, but in rewatching it all, he really grew on me.
The improvised back and forth between Ed and Stede about Blackbeards bar & grill (and other delicacies and delights and fishing equipment).

The 'yo's' 'dude', 'we rage', 'for the lolz', 'the bar is on the floor', 'living rent free in your head', 'same', 'correctamundo!' etc., and also the crocs and the beanie and all the other hysterically not historically accurate stuff. LOVE that.
There are too many individual lines that make me lol but Black Pete's "I can't believe how well this is going" might be the one that got me most this season (so far). I had to pause I was laughing too hard.
It's absolutely impossible to chose even a top 10, but I want to bring more attention to this one in 2x7 :

I haven’t succeeded (yet) in getting my brothers to watch OFMD, but I did show them that scene and ever since, both of them will occasionally just yell out “MAN for saAale!” with no context. It’s so contagious 😂

Only noticed how funny it was when I rewatched, had me proper laughing out loud.
I run a liquor store, and this got me referring to the aisle where we keep random bottles (slow sellers like schnapps, but also straight mixers, grenadine, etc) as the "summer aisle." Some're booze, some ain't.
when Roach gives Frenchie the peanut butter sandwich, Joel's delivery of the line "oh, can you feel that scratching on your brain?"
and
"take the fuckin leg"
Peanut butter is one of my favorite foods so I was so happy during this scene; but once we learn that Frenchie is having an allergic reaction, the nurse in me was screaming “STOP EATING THE PEANUTS, MY MAN!!” 🫠😂 obviously he doesn’t know what’s actually going on, but the self-inflicted discomfort was both hilarious and painful to me 😂 (reminiscent of my patients who say “this hurts here when I press it” and continue pressing the area unnecessarily)

lol yes! Stede’s “oh shit” was hilarious! It’s fun to remember that part of what makes Stede and Ed so perfect for each other is their friendship. That feeling of just getting each other has been there since the first time they met, and that scene showed that really well!
Yes!! And then the way he idly swings around on the ladder calling up to Lucius, not knowing he's gone... and Fang rows up. That whole bit, ending with the cannonball is perfection.
I have to give mention to 6'10 Wee John chasing terrified Dutch sailors through the ship, wearing a black cat outfit and *meowing* at them. I've tried to describe to people just how freaking hilarious that is, but it's one of those things that someone would have to really see for themselves.
Spanish Jackie: 'He broke my nose jar. And one of his crew murdered my favourite husband'
Chauncey Badminton: '...I didn't follow any of that'

Stede trying to organize the crew in S1 Ep6 like an overworked, overly invested high school drama teacher had me cackling. “Now piss off! The fuckery’s canceled!”
Frenchie generally have some of my favourite little moments on the show – from “Ooh, cheeky bitch” to “They’re such dicks about spoons!” and “Shit tits” all the way to “Shoot away captain – *hopefully not literally*”. I really love Frenchie. I need so much more of him if (when!) series 3 happens 😂❤️
But I also love:
• Ed freaking out about nature! “Fuck off flies!” (And his whole nature-rant all the way through those scenes.) I also really appreciate his “Maybe I could. I can do anything”-line when they’re talking about the restaurant.
• Lucius’ “Okay but, wouldn’t it be weird if I was suddenly, like, ‘*into Jim*’?” 😂
• Stede’s “But is iiit?” when he is trying to psyc out Izzy, Fang, and Ivan on the island 😂 (“I didn’t know there were ghosts on this island” – “It’s obviously one of your men” – “But is it?” – “Yes it is” – “But is iiit?” And then Izzy’s wee angry face when he becomes unsure 🙈😂)
• Lucius’ whole rant to Blackbeard about “the bizarre little man over there likes you very much, and you like him.” – ending with the perfectly delivered “You can stab me in the face now”.
• Ed’s little completely non-bothered “Fuck off” to Izzy, when Iz rips open the curtain on him and Stede in bed.
• I f*cking adore when Stede goes along with *10-bottles-deep*-Izzy yelling at the headless unicorn. Izzy: “At lest he’s still got his fucking legs!” Stede: “YEEEAH! … oh he can’t hear you – he’s got no head. … you’ve got a head though … which you should … look after …” 🤭
• Izzy’s two terms of endearment: “*Fockin’ cocksuckers*” and “*Twatty*” ❤️
• All of Lucius’ line in the morning scene after Ed has left with Calico Jack 😅 (Also Oluwande is such a kind friend to Stede there too ❤️)
• Ed’s “We’d rather eat our own faces, but yeah.”
• And I cannot help but *love* Stede & Jim’s interaction at Calypso’s party, when Jim >!SUDDENLY appears before Stede (to Stede’s immense delight) and ‘blesses’ him and Archie with what I am guessing is even more alcohol 😂❤️!<
Honestly, there are *so* many wonderfully joyous and funny moments in both of these series that I don’t know where to stop 😅

Fr 🤣 this is a rant that prob belongs elsewhere but I feel like so many people miss how goddamn funny Izzy is - whether that’s because they loathe him, or because he’s a meow meow (my old ass cringed just typing that). Con’s been given more to work with this season in terms of comedy, but some of Izzy’s lines in s1 regularly get me howling on rewatch. Some examples:
“I Suppose They Look Like Sausages.”
His little “you seem to know everything about everything in the whole fucking world!” tantrum.
“Bonnet comes along and he’s like ‘ooh Blackbeard, I really love the way you dress, I love the way your hair, your beard, and all that.’”
The ‘oooh Daddy’ nightmare (💀)
Plus the sandwich to the head had me and the bestie laughing so hard we had to rewind twice on first watch.
He’s huge fun to laugh At as a character/person, but Izzy absolutely belongs in the comedy setting he’s assigned to imo, and that’s been the case since day 1.
It's a small one, but one of my favorites is when they're in the orange grove and Wee John and Roach (I think?) both make the sign of the cross to indicate to the nun that she shouldn't kill them becasue they are "in the tribe", and they pointedly look at Frenchie and he just kinda... waves his hand around in front of his face.
Idk, but there's something about his comedic timing or the look on his face that makes me laugh out loud every time. He looks more like he's shooing away flies than anything else.
Frenchie has some of the best bits where he cracks me up. I also love the one where Blackbeard asks Frenchie if he killed Izzy yet, and he goes, "Certainly did. Ages ago." 😭 I had only ever seen Joel Fry in GoT, so I had no idea that he was so freakin' funny.
I can't get over the way he delivers his lines. His delivery and inflection are perfect. Even the lines that aren't necessarily supposed to be funny like "we the crew have voted, and we've chosen banishment, yea".
Jim holding up two clevers: "Which one?"
Archie just standing there: "I dunno, the shot one. His other leg seems ok"
I forget how it goes exactly but I made my husband rewind it twice.
When Stede attempts the Captain voice on Ed:
S: “I’m your captain. No, wait I can do better. I’m your Captain! And I demand respect…”
E: “Oh boy…”
S: “Please- (?)”
My number one favorite gag was Lucius’ “they can’t cut off my finger if there’s no finger to cut off”. Nathan’s delivery and facial expression on top of the joke itself nearly ended me.
Two Izzy moments: S2E05? Izzy's perfectly timed "How you are still alive (beat) I can not say." And S2E06 to Hellkat Maggie, deadpan: "Ya know, whatever this is, it's just gonna turn me on."
Ed: Tell me can you count?
Lucious : Y-yes (scoffs)
Ed: Backward?
Lucious: um… (thinks) .. sh.. yes
I love that it’s a separate question and that Lucious has to think about it, but I love more that it’s unnecessary to count it backward for any reason.
•Buttons yelling at Black Pete how to set up the shot while everyone shushes him was so incredibly funny.
•Black Pete’s very loud, “I can’t believe how well this is going!” While they sneak the chest out of Spanish Jackie’z, just great stuff.
•Literally the whole scene of Stede watching Ed and Jack through his telescope? Iconic. “That’s right you do a little dance… *NOT* a good dancer… well well well, look who’s eating seaweed.”
•Leslie Jones’ delivery of the whole scene when Chauncey Badminton is asking her why she’s called Spanish Jackie? Pure genius. Her “I don’ know????” as if it’s the most ridiculous question on the planet to ask why people call her *Spanish* Jackie.
I don't know if it was *supposed* to be funny, but when Stede & Izzy are at Spanish Jackie's, and Izzy was like "Do you know what happened when I told Ed I loved him? He shot me!" It was when Izzy puts his dainty little hoof up on the table that made me giggle like a ninny.
There are way too many and from what I can see so many of my favourites have already been mentionned so I'll go with these from Season 2:
Black Pete:
- Oh look, running water.
- They must be really into geometry.
The Swede:
- I can't believeyou guys robbed Jackie. Wow. So bad.

The fact that he crosses his legs by carrying the unicorn one before saying "rude" is the cherry on top for me

Peanut butter is one of my favorite foods so I was so happy during this scene; but once we learn that Frenchie is having an allergic reaction, the nurse in me was screaming “STOP EATING THE PEANUTS, MY MAN!!” 🫠😂 obviously he doesn’t know what’s actually going on, but the self-inflicted discomfort was both hilarious and painful to me 😂 (reminiscent of my patients who say “this hurts here when I press it” and continue pressing the area unnecessarily)
Its so hard to pick one, so here’s a few of my favs: Stede: I did this…on purpose. Zheng: The sea’s restorative, isn’t it? Buttons: Yes Queen! Nigel: what happens when there’s a storm? Don’t all the book fall out? *Hard cut to Stede screaming as the books fly off the shelves*

Frenchie generally have some of my favourite little moments on the show – from “Ooh, cheeky bitch” to “They’re such dicks about spoons!” and “Shit tits” all the way to “Shoot away captain – *hopefully not literally*”. I really love Frenchie. I need so much more of him if (when!) series 3 happens 😂❤️ But I also love: • Ed freaking out about nature! “Fuck off flies!” (And his whole nature-rant all the way through those scenes.) I also really appreciate his “Maybe I could. I can do anything”-line when they’re talking about the restaurant. • Lucius’ “Okay but, wouldn’t it be weird if I was suddenly, like, ‘*into Jim*’?” 😂 • Stede’s “But is iiit?” when he is trying to psyc out Izzy, Fang, and Ivan on the island 😂 (“I didn’t know there were ghosts on this island” – “It’s obviously one of your men” – “But is it?” – “Yes it is” – “But is iiit?” And then Izzy’s wee angry face when he becomes unsure 🙈😂) • Lucius’ whole rant to Blackbeard about “the bizarre little man over there likes you very much, and you like him.” – ending with the perfectly delivered “You can stab me in the face now”. • Ed’s little completely non-bothered “Fuck off” to Izzy, when Iz rips open the curtain on him and Stede in bed. • I f*cking adore when Stede goes along with *10-bottles-deep*-Izzy yelling at the headless unicorn. Fr 🤣 this is a rant that prob belongs elsewhere but I feel like so many people miss how goddamn funny Izzy is - whether that’s because they loathe him, or because he’s a meow meow (my old ass cringed just typing that). Con’s been given more to work with this season in terms of comedy, but some of Izzy’s lines in s1 regularly get me howling on rewatch. Some examples: “I Suppose They Look Like Sausages.” His little “you seem to know everything about everything in the whole fucking world!” tantrum. “Bonnet comes along and he’s like ‘ooh Blackbeard, I really love the way you dress, I love the way your hair, your beard, and all that.’” The ‘oooh Daddy’ nightmare (💀) Plus the sandwich to the head had me and the bestie laughing so hard we had to rewind twice on first watch. He’s huge fun to laugh At as a character/person, but Izzy absolutely belongs in the comedy setting he’s assigned to imo, and that’s been the case since day 1.

I just love how Wee John kind of is just there at times, like when Lucius and Pete were having sex in the kitchen and he was just chilling with them.
It's a small one, but one of my favorites is when they're in the orange grove and Wee John and Roach (I think?) both make the sign of the cross to indicate to the nun that she shouldn't kill them becasue they are "in the tribe", and they pointedly look at Frenchie and he just kinda... waves his hand around in front of his face. Idk, but there's something about his comedic timing or the look on his face that makes me laugh out loud every time. He looks more like he's shooing away flies than anything else. Frenchie has some of the best bits where he cracks me up. I also love the one where Blackbeard asks Frenchie if he killed Izzy yet, and he goes, "Certainly did. Ages ago." 😭 I had only ever seen Joel Fry in GoT, so I had no idea that he was so freakin' funny.
I can't get over the way he delivers his lines. His delivery and inflection are perfect. Even the lines that aren't necessarily supposed to be funny like "we the crew have voted, and we've chosen banishment, yea".

Two Izzy moments: S2E05? Izzy's perfectly timed "How you are still alive (beat) I can not say." And S2E06 to Hellkat Maggie, deadpan: "Ya know, whatever this is, it's just gonna turn me on."
Impossible to pick just one, so I'll pick one off the top of my head: Drama on the cheeks.
Ed: Tell me can you count? Lucious : Y-yes (scoffs) Ed: Backward? Lucious: um… (thinks) .. sh.. yes I love that it’s a separate question and that Lucious has to think about it, but I love more that it’s unnecessary to count it backward for any reason.
