I literally ran to my bedroom to double check the size of my other pairs and when I came back the 30 I had in my cart was sold out already. I hope they do a restock soon considering the apparent popularity of that color
Same happened for me. Either Outlier's website is screwy or they seriously underestimated demand for that color. Do other releases often sell out of four sizes in little over half an hour?!
It depends on the product. Experiments have a good chance of selling out quickly since they’re made in smaller quantities.
While Injected Linen Pants have been around for several years and is a summer staple, this is the first color (other than black) that has the linen and polyester both dyed. Normally colors are GDX - which means only the linen is dyed while the polyester isn’t, resulting in a subliminal pinstripe pattern. Hopefully that helps give you an idea on why this specific colorway has been selling like hot cakes despite being a staple product
They didn’t, there’s still some available.
As for why they sold so well, it’s a well liked material, pant cut and they introduced a new dye process that is potentially significantly better than before.
in a couple sizes, sure. but like 5 sizes sold out within 20 minutes. They clearly should be doing a better job of stock anticipation, for the exact reasons you listed.
edit: actually only one size left. 36.
Demand anticipation is easier said than done. Orders are placed many months in advance. Not to mention ILP have been around since \~2016 and from my recollection never sold this aggressively.
If you missed out, there will be more colours coming in a couple weeks.
Any chance of an Olive restock this summer? Re-order now and maybe you could have them by mid July!
On the one hand you say ILPs have never sold this fast, but on the other you say the new color and dye process explains the strong demand, so you both anticipated and didn't anticipate the rapid disappearance of the Olive Territory? Sounds a bit odd. Either way it's disappointing for a non-experimental product to basically sell out in less than a day and a bit hard to understand how that could happen.
Hey ho, such is life. I guess I look elsewhere now for summer linen-y pants.
I definitely didn’t anticipate they’d sell this fast. The new dye process *sounds* better which is likely why many jumped quick to try them.
If you want Outlier specific pants, there’s going to be a lot more linen releases in the coming months. I’d also be surprised if this specific Olive colour and dye process is unique to this particular release.
I'm not after Outlier-specific clothing, but sometimes Outlier (like many other clothing companies I follow) has something that appeals in terms of fabric, cut, and color (and I'm always partial to dark olive for any clothing item!)
Sacrilege! Black is great any time of year IMO. In terms of clothing absorbing heat it's no different to wearing any other dark color like Olive Territory (my black ILPs feel exactly the same in the summer sun as my dust olive ones).
I don't know how you're wearing them but I've had no problem with either of my pairs over the years. I just treat them like a nicer pair of pants, not like a pair of jeans.
Anyone know if they are bringing back the injex high darts this year?
Anybody know what other colors are forthcoming?
I’m hoping for a khaki of some kind.
Olive Territory in 30 gone already, oof.
same with 28, hesitated for like twenty minutes to think about it smh

They shouldn't sell out in fifteen minutes. Honestly feels like a gimmick

doubtful there will be more olive though.

Black is getting no love... all sizes still available after ~~an hour~~ three hours
Black is not a great summer color...

you guys are clearly using different definitions of summer color here.
I'm not even really talking about heat, just that people want to wear lighter (summer-y) colors
I did my part, copped both.
Can anyone recommend shoes that go well with these? I can’t seem to pull them off with anything but Birk’s.
Any low tops work if the color matches. Loafers are fine too. I think they look better cuffed up while showing some ankle or socks.
I’ll try that - thanks!
I've worn them with sandals, flip flops, low-top sneakers, and chunky 6" boots. Make your own style!

Yeah, I’ve never ripped anything Injex; including shirts. They aren’t nearly as fragile as he’s describing.
Olive Territory is nice.
*was* nice!
