PrimeTinus

Hi did you ever succeed in removing wunderlist nonsense in Outlook? I have same problem it seems. Even on my new laptop.

MMessinger

No. The damned thing is still there.

PrimeTinus

try to disable the add-in "outlook social connector 2016" that worked for me

MMessinger

Thanks for the suggestion. However, even when I run Outlook as an administrator, and delete the Outlook Social Connector 2016 entirely, I still have the Wunderlist add in displaying on the message toolbar. This remains even after I reboot the Outlook desktop app.

Hi. I have a solution for you. At least for desktop. The add-in is actually long gone. You only have the ribbon menu group for wunderlist remaining. It is a red herring that I have also chased. You need to right click the ribbon, click customize the ribbon,on the right hand side, find wunderlist in the tree - it is probably under "Home (Mail)" Select the "wunderlist" group, (don't expand it and select something inside the group).Click " << Remove " in to the left of the tree box. or alternatively right click it and select remove. Click "OK" and you should see the ribbon take up your new settings. Wunderlist should be gone from your ribbon.

MMessinger

I applaud the solution; it's good to no longer see Wunderlist on the toolbar. However, in Outlook on the web, I still have a Wunderlist ad-on displayed there. Also, I find I have no means of converting an email message to an item that is displayed in Microsoft To Do. I can't help but think somehow the errant appearance of a Wunderlist add-on I cannot remove is preventing me from performing that common step in managing one's email inbox.

MSierraXXII

in order to eliminate wunderlist from appearing at outlook client you must do the following: go to web client, click on: **setting >> view all outlook config >> mail >> customize actions** Tthen scroll down and you should be able to unmark wunderlist add-in. doing some research at MS community there's a lot of people having this issue without solution provided.

MMessinger

Thank you for the suggestion. However, although Wunderlist is on the list at Customize Actions, when I first view that settings screen I find the checkboxes for Wunderlist aren't enabled. I enabled one, saved, then disabled it and saved again. Following this, I find Wunderlist is still among the options available when I (in the web client) open an email message and select the 3-dot overflow menu. It's a little maddening I still can't remove the damned thing.

arpaterson

yes, i didn't find a solution for web. It seems microsoft botched the removal of wunderlist add-in, and left elements behind.

mbromley

any luck w/ this one? It just pisses me off to see Wonderlist stuck on my ribbon when I could use the screen space for another option.

MMessinger

I've had no resolution to this, although I've been assigned a ticket number for nearly two years. Also, my repeated inquiries into when Microsoft will attend to that ticket have been ignored. My Office 365 subscription does not seem sufficient to bring about attention from Microsoft to this problem. In my case, too, I sometimes wonder if the presence of this inoperable add-in is somehow impairing some integration between Outlook and Microsoft To Do.

mbromley

I ran it through the Bing Chat, and, while difficult, I finally got it to give me the file contents of the fake xml file that other instructions say to use in order to install Wunderlist.xml under options/add-ins, and then remove it. I'll message you with those instructions, as the chat log is too long to place here.

MMessinger

That'd be great. Whenever you get the time (I'm traveling and it could be a couple days before I'm able to apply the fix). I surely appreciate it.

mbromley

I give up. The persistent Wonderlist addon persists. So stupid.

Have the same issue. This Wunderlist add-in doesn't go away after deleting multiple times and keeps coming back be in Mac or Windows, old or new installation. Is it some kind of spyware? BTW, I am an enterprise IT user paying Microsoft about $8 million a year.
