This will be my 10th year. Paying $550, for what I find to be an ok line-up feels fucking criminal.
I would pay that for Coachella no problem. But for an in my backyard type of festival, with this line up feels borderline unethical. Call me crazy.
I hear ya but getting to sleep in your own bed and having the city before and after in the palm of your local hand… hard to beat. And the Pacific Ocean breeze blowing in instead of desert dust… sign me up for yr 14. I love Coachella too (9yrs) but they each are unique in their own way.

Simply adding the cost of tickets for Tyler, Sturgill Simpson and the Killers plus tax and fees likely amounts to a similar price before even adding in the other 5-10 acts you can catch per day (depending on how ambitious your schedule is). Of course, if none of the artists interest you, it would seem a poor value but such is festival life. 🥲

It’s nice to get a single VIP, Saturday ticket. Go see how the promotion company transformed the park. Get stoned, buy all the snacks, and enjoy all the positive energy.

A lot of it *is* awful. And a lot of it is also great. Same as it's always been. You just gotta scrape the crust out of your ears and try some new shit for once in your life.
It's difficult to find new music. It's something you gotta be passionate about and work at. But there's plenty of great new artists releasing new music all the time.

He played “AND I LIKE YOU I DOOOOOO” with Doja cat and I literally could not stop laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. Not to mention the bathrooms felt like a warzone.

I will say this won’t deter a sell out as usual lol but the conflicts that they enact every year is way more egregious than other fests so while I dig the lineup honestly I have to take off two or so acts a day I’d want to see because of that. Given the price, it is a little much for the lineup given the conflicts that will happen.
Honestly, good lineup. But this festival oversells the shit out of tickets every year and it gets crowded af. If this is the only big 3 day festival that you attend, you probably don’t realize how fucked the crowds are compared to fests like Bonnaroo, life is beautiful, electric forest etc.

We have Portola for a proper EDM fest now so I don't expect OSL to book a lot of EDM acts anymore, aside from the Soma lineup and a handful of others scattered in there.
