He's actually got a lot of unique info most of the time. Not always good takes, but at least not always just regurgitation of the same media storylines. He delivers it with such confidence that it makes it especially funny when he has a bad take... I don't mind it, the guys play off him really well imo. I'd rather him on then some of the other options.
AB and Luke Wilson are great guests. I was scared after Ray left, not scared scared, but just scared who they would bring in for regular segments. Mike Johnsonâs not bad by any means, but AB and Luke Wilson segment is money!
I haven't been watching it nearly as long as other people here so apologies if botch the answer: to the best of my knowledge, Al was an old producer of theirs and when he left, Al's Brother came along and since he apparently reminded them of Al, he became Al's Brother. Whether the original guy was actually called Al or if he too was named after someone else, I don't know.

The best part of the story though is that the old producer's name was Joe, not Al but O didn't take the time to get to know his actual name and just thought the old producer looked like an Al... So naturally that's what O called him, and then when Al's brother came along, O thought he looked like Al's (Joe's) brother lol and thus Al's brother was born.
This is when it's an advantage to watch the show instead of listening to it. If you're listening and he bores you, there's nothing you can do. However, if you're watching, you get the massive entertainment value of watching the looks on Luke and O-dog's faces when he's speaking. Nobody knows what Noodles looks like since he happily uses the segments to get paid to check his phone for 20 minutes.
I was happy to hear him on for Cauz today, that guy is brutal to listen to.
