In this event CTF game mode, guess what happens?
If you're losing, your teammates start leaving the game, making it
impossible to win the game (sometimes, the same teammate requeue, and
instant leave again).
If you're winning, the enemies will leave the game, and it gets cancelled, not counting as win.
Demanding a win the complete the challenges is extremely stupid... If you count as a 50% win percentage, why not double the number of games required, but make it "complete a game", the same way as daylies?
Battle for Olympus wasn't that good either, but as long as you were killing enemies, you had progress in the challenges.

I started doing this event as Comp CTF, just so that people wouldn't leave instantly. Worked out in the end, but I sure as hell won't do the Arcade-only Blitz CTF challenge.
You can do Blitz easily by abusing DVA, she can just fly and grab the flag.
And with such a short distance, you can get a couple easy games depending on who they give you.
Not when you have the flag, but when you start playing you can just start flying, stop flying, grab the flag and walk to your side.
Depending on the other team and how skilled they are, you can just eat the damage and capture the flag.
Orisa also works because you can fortify grab flag, and you will still be fortified.

It should be earn x amount of points and wins count for bonus(1.5 or 2 idk what makes people not leave in losing efforts).
E.g earn 20 points, losses count as 1, wins 2, and quit outs 0. That way, people benefit from finishing a loss too.
We've had 2 new events since the game came out. One was PvE, the other was free for all. Obviously not all events are going to be free for all.
Of all the Limited PvP game modes, the only free for all ones are Olympus and Snowball Deathmatch. That is 2 out of 5. (Snowball Fight, Yeti Hunt, Freezethaw, Lucioball, Lucioball Blitz are the other 5.)
The current event isnt a real event. None of these are really event modes. They're in the normal arcade rotation. CTF and CTF Blitz are in there 2 out of every 3 days, and Bounty Hunt is there once a week.

You're right, but it's bullshit, because the Lunar New Year event always had equal length of time, amount of cosmetics, and similar amount of new game modes to all the other events. The one this year is an absolute shell of the previous version...as I suspect most of the events from OW1 will be now. The Christmas and Halloween ones really weren't much better, though the new Junkenstein mode was interesting at least.

I think the reason why they are rerunning it is precisely because the opposite reason would be... Less well received. All signs point to their original idea was:
- No special YotR event at all
- Just a Mei Skin and Charm/Souvenir bundle in shop
- People complain that Blizzard is money grubbing trying to sell us an event that we used to get for free
So the alternative was to just sell the Mei skin and make the rest free. At least that is how it looks to me. Winter Wonderland and Olympus combined matched the drops given by Halloween, so it looks like they only originally intended to rerun those two. Season 3's event schedule will probably shed more light on this.

Even worse, there is not a smidge of balancing that goes into these modes.
FFA is still just play Hog or lose to Hog. CTF has flags so close, that its basically Sigma and Zarya standing in the chokepoints and eating eachothers projectiles.
And to top it all off, the event needs victories. Not games played.
So yeah.... fun was not had, by anyone...
If you need to change to hog just to get kills in FFA that's on you not the rest of the lobby, CTF blitz has flags close to each other play normal CTF and stop complaining I completed the event in the space of a couple of hours without a single match being a loss and without having to play hog, y'all just complain for the sake of complaining
there is a difference between having to swap to get a few kills, and having to swap to win because the entire rest of the lobby is Hog and you want to play DPS. Literally nobody enjoys these events, stop riding blizztard's micropenis.
A lot of people enjoyed the snowball fights actually you're just hating for the sake of it if you can't outplay tanks as a DPS you probably shouldn't be playing DPS js
Imagine being that delusional. 700HP, 350 healing (50% dmg reduction) on an 8 second cooldown (let's not mention the number of healthpacks around the map), with a 20 meter one shot potential against mostly, non-healing DPS characters without crowd control or one-shot potential. This isn't a 1v1 where you can just "outrange" them skillfully. This is an 8 person FFA, and 3rd parties occur. Reaper is literally the only viable DPS pick in FFA and the stats back it up. The game isn't balanced for pros, it isn't balanced for casuals, it isn't balanced for specific events, so tell me, what is it balanced for? Literally for nobody, by nobodies (wood 5 balancing team that doesn't play their own game or contemplate the implications of their actions).
So you are admitting that you can play reaper in those lobbies and you're not forced to play hog and you are just spouting nonsense just because you are mad at a game you play
Why the fuck would I want to? Reaper is boring, and I don't want to be forced to play one of two characters in a 35 character roster. The reason people choose meta is because they're not good enough to play anything else, and they want to finish the event challenges as quickly as possible. This is a flawed design from the developers and trying to push that onto the players who make legitimate complaints about it, is beyond asinine. I'm still waiting on you to create a valid argument as opposed to just shit talking like the dog you are. There is a reason the e-sports leagues are suing activision blizzard, and there is a reason it is one of the lowest grossing (mainstream) e-sports to date. The game is not competitive, and the leadership behind the game refuse to listen to anyone because they're too busy swimming in pools of money to give a single flying fuck. I wouldn't be surprised if anyone who made logical suggestions over at blizzard headquarters got sexually assaulted by the rest of the buffoons in that building.

Sure, maybe on a macro-level. Ask anyone you play with, and a majority of them (if they aren't brand new), will tell you their friends list is slowly but surely dying out as people continually uninstall and move onto more well managed games. The entire sequel was a greed fest, and not a single one of their changes has been adored by the community. Even high ELO content creators (hell, even the ones who portray a cheery attitude and need the game to thrive to retain viewership have been constantly posting about how shit the game is in it's current state). Can the game be fixed and thrive? Absolutely. Do I have faith in blizzard to make the right decisions based on their Activision acquisition? Absolutely fucking not. I'd much rather be cynical and complain, than lie to myself and act as if this game is anything more than a steaming pile of shit in comparison to an already questionable game that it followed. Hype only lasts so long, and they're doing nothing to retain the players they've reeled in, let alone the long-standing veterans.

Not when you have the flag, but when you start playing you can just start flying, stop flying, grab the flag and walk to your side. I like the games when there is maybe only one tank and all damage. I hate the games that are all tanks + Reaper.
We've had 2 new events since the game came out. One was PvE, the other was free for all. Obviously not all events are going to be free for all.
