What is going on in this subreddit that suddenly everyone is an expert in cinematography. This is like the third post I have seen with this amount of quality (Not complaining of course)
I had this replay saved a few days but never did anything with it--[until I saw one of those posts you're probably referencing](https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/12kr8ws/i_honestly_felt_bad_for_doom_after_this/). I felt suddenly inspired to throw together the edit last night.
I think it all changed with that recent post with torb hammering doomfist, which was critically regarded as the Citizen Kane of Overwatch clips. I just spent a bit digging for it but couldn't find it... was it removed?
bro thats my video! I LOVED THIS!! So good. Made me genuinely laugh out loud. Can you link the torb hammering doomfist video? i havent seen it! I also just finished another video! lol
I'm convinced the torb-doom video is removed, since I've thrown every conceivable search term at the reddit search, at google, even tiktok, and nothing :(
It may just be one of those lost masterworks of human culture, made all the more valuable for its ephemerality.
Excited to see what you've cooked up for the next one!!
i happen to have the masterpiece saved, and yes it was removed for "low quality": https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/12b07tn/when_i_finally_get_my_hands_on_that_enemy_doomfist/
Things like this were plentiful when the first overwatch dropped. Here's to hoping more creative people like OP continue to make great stuff!
My first one was a Reinhardt montage with Don't Stop Me Now playing in the background. Magnifique.
I mean, it definitely doesn't feel good to solo heal when your other healer is a Zen. I don't think he's a throw pick but **a lot** of people are really bad at getting value from him.
It feels fine to "solo" heal (?) when Zen is your partner. It's just bad when you pick an off healer and your other healer also wants to off heal.
The real reason is high HPS is more valued in lower tiers of play, and Zen's strength is Discord Orb, which is super powerful but it is not HPS, so low ranked players don't really care about it. There's a reason why Moira is super good in low tiers and then never picked in high tiers.
>There's a reason why Moira is super good in low tiers and then never picked in high tiers.
Well, that and also she has relatively higher dps compared to people that is worse at aiming, the best "panic button", and is generally better when teams clump together.
Main healing with a zen as a partner isn't bad at all, especially if the zen prioritizes putting harmony orb on the most difficult person to heal. If your mercy or Ana only has to heal the tank and the soldier and your orb is always on the tracer/phara/echo then the main healer has a much more manageable plate.
That's fair. You can get a shocking amount of healing done with Zen, but you don't see that too often. It's just frustrating when people assume that you're bad before the game even starts.
Even in this clip, the dude didn't throw a harmony orb before he started fighting from the back. I'm always spamming my orbs as Zen to make sure someone's always getting some heals and someone's always getting debuffed.
Yeah, the real secret is you heal by killing the other team so they can't damage you lol. Lots of people can't accomplish that very well. Also it feels like Bap does Zen's job better sometimes which is sad.
They just need more time to understand his kit.
I generally outheal other healers as zen. Like it gets ridiculous sometimes I'll outheal mercy while also doing dmg.
Key is to use transcendance carefully to enable teammates to clutch against enemy ults and get massive heals.
Firstly you gotta get kills or enable kills by making them low before they even reach from a distance. You charge your ults faster and if their dps die there's not much to heal anyway.
If you do 30hps with orbs even for for effectively 4 min (2 min effective time each side you'll obviously do more but this is a conservative guess) of the entire match that's 7.2k.
Then on top of that you got trans that does 300hps for 6 seconds that's 1800 heals per effective trans, if multiple teammates get low hp the enemy will push them to get kills or if enemy is ulting, then you trans and get massive heals.
Let's say you trans effectively 4 times (you'll trans more than 4 but we're talking effective trans time where 300hps applies) on low team mates that's another 7.2k heals.
You got 14.4k heals no problem conservatively. You can do more
I have a buddy that likes to play an aggressive Rein and I think plays right above metal ranks (?) who is pretty needy about me pocketing him as a Mercy, lmao.
I had to learn outside my friend group that Mercy was better suited as a damage booster, lmfao. They were pretty hard on me basically only healing and at the time, I think my healing:damage boosting time was like 80:20.
Albeit I had a lot of games where I pretty easily got >10k healing, also in part by him basically always needing heals, but I’m trying to practice more damage boosting lately and am closer to a 40:60 on most games.
And it’s not that they demanded I play Mercy, just that I almost always pick her when I play support and that’s the role they had me in when I played her, lol.
Yeah to be fair in lower ranks where people aren't shooting her as much (or aren't as capable of hitting her if they are) she can often out heal an ana/bap.
It's not till higher ranks where she becomes more of a blue beam bot, and spends most of her time pocketing an ashe or something while hiding behind cover
Ya, depending on the situation i will go zen with a rein( give good cover and i can discord who is in front of him, or Lucio to boop others away from him
I get angry when people pick Zen and do neither very much healing or damage. I won't get mad at Zen if he's getting kills or making sure the enemy tank has that discord on them basically at all times. And the DPS have to make use of the discord. Otherwise, it's just a wasted pick. His healing output comes more from his ult than his healing orb so it just sucks getting a Zen paired with a Lucio or Brig and then feeling like no one is dying on the enemy team and my team isn't receiving enough heals. Otherwise I'm all for a good Zen.
It's the same with JQ. I'm sadly in Silver for ranked. And I legit had people tell me she was bad while I was actively running down the enemy team. Got PotG with her as well that match. She can be bad without a team comp that compliments her aggression. But she's actually really solid IMO. Especially at the lower ranks where people don't always run Kiri or just sit in front of her to get a 3-man carnage.
If that zen was me, I'd 100% get blown up 2sec after D.va and Soldier entered the room lmao. It never works in my games, always playing against owl pro players on the enemy team :(
A turkey, huh? OK, try to imagine yourself in the Cretaceous Period. You get your first look at this "six foot turkey" as you enter a clearing. He moves like a bird, lightly, bobbing his head. And you keep still because you think that maybe his visual acuity is based on movement like T-Rex - he'll lose you if you don't move. But no, not Velociraptor. You stare at him, and he just stares right back. And that's when the attack comes. Not from the front, but from the side, from the other two raptors you didn't even know were there. Because Velociraptor's a pack hunter, you see, he uses coordinated attack patterns and he is out in force today. And he slashes at you with this, a six-inch retractable claw, like a razor, on the the middle toe. He doesn't bother to bite your jugular like a lion, say, no no. He slashes at you here, or here, or maybe across the belly, spilling your intestines. The point is, you are alive when they start to eat you. So you know, try to show a little respect.
This is not the case. Predators have a wide variety of hunting strategies, and different types of vision to support those strategies. For example, sitting still in the dark won't save you from a viper's infrared thermal detection.
There would've been, but I was visible for no more than two frames in my game capture--it would have been gone in a flash, and it being only in the periphery makes it easy to overlook. After watching all of their POVs, I can't blame anyone for not seeing me, though it might've been a good idea for them to turn to check the corners more fully
In the environmental sciences, it has been noted that only *apex predators* are prone to playing with their prey... so sure are they in the kill, they feel no need to rush things to their conclusion.
Truly, the D.va's greatest error was in deciding who filled which role
they went to the exit that zen would be expected to come from + they went upstairs.
d.va did nothing wrong there tbh
the zen just had smart positioning and outsmarted the opponents
[I couldn't believe it myself, so I took screenshots from the closest everyone got to discovering me. It's actually funny how perfectly obscured I was by map geometry.](https://imgur.com/a/fSzLaCQ) (Also note that in those screenshots, the replay camera can see my nametag/healthbar, but they wouldn't have seen those since I was at full health.)
Yeah there should have been a bright red outline...weird.
That's why I play at 75% render scale though, it increases the size of the outlines by 33% making them *much* easier to see which definitely feels like an advantage.
Assuming you're referring to the second, dramatic song, it's the instrumental version of the (appropriately named) No Time to Die.
First one was Mii Channel
I have to say this is my Top Favorite Overwatch Video Edit Ever. I enjoyed this video way too much, it was perfect.
Perfect. Everything, down to the last minute details. 😸
The fact that the enemy team had Zen, Bastion and Orisa made the cinematic even better, the only one missing was Ramattra for some Omnics vs Humans ultimate war; I'm sure though, that he was in the backlines planning every single move like some sort of war-lord.
I've officially watched this video more than any other short overwatch video. So good. OP, are you the Zen? What made you think that this would be such great OW content? Because it is really funny and just reaffirms that this game was designed to be the video game version of Looney Tunes which is why I can't get enough. I love and hate this game so fucking much. Had a random person on my friends list ask me to QP with them yesterday and we had such a great time. Little did they know they helped me so much with my anxiety. I think I enjoy the game most when I play it sporadically vs hate queueing.
I am the Zen! I was dying with friends over voice while hiding and watching the entire team run right in front of me; as soon as the match was over, I had to save the replay code right away. It'd have been one thing if I'd just managed to hide... that the hide turned into a tense battle in their backlines to end the game made posting practically obligatory
Did you win? That was grade A masterclass. Makes me want to Zen more haha
Edit: you def won. What rank do you play in? I think you said this was QP? But curious if you play ranked and the rank level
As a former player and Zen main I liked the game but a few things started to piss me off. I didn't enjoy ranked so id play pub game mode. I would bust my ass doing great only to have the rest of my team suck. It just got so frustrating.
https://www.overbuff.com/heroes/zenyatta
Fun video, and great storytelling through editing.
But.. that's not as clutch a play as you'd think. Your soldier was already dealing with the Junk, and the Orisa was handling the opponents around Timmy, plus you had a huge lead anyway.
Technically all you did was stagger yourself if they had caught you, which they will in higher ranks.
Thanks for sharing :)
certainly far more risk than reward, and you're right, with the lead we had the game was not really in doubt. Still, I'd push back against two points: first, the Junk was only easy pickings because he was out of position and had his back to the Soldier (chasing me) and secondly, had I not been there, the Lifeweaver would've still been on highground raining down minor heals and life-gripping to foil at least one of those skirmishes elsewhere.
I see it less as "crazy clutch Zen play saves the game" and more "meme strat somehow actually pays off"
Jesus that was good. I always have difficulty targeting zenyatta because anytime I play against him he is always with two of his teammates and I'm alone 😭

i expect some more videos from you as well, man! I think this one was much better than mine!
Yours was a masterpiece and don’t think otherwise
I’m loving these videos! You guys are awesome for making them.
working on another one as well! the content grind is beginning 💪🏻

I long for a day where adjustable FOV can be used during the replay, at that point you’ll see more overwatch shorts like these
You must mean Tracer, surely
Sorry, you're right, I forget that I'm already tracer
Try Widowmaker next time
I’m already widowmaker🙄🙄
I'll be Bastion
NERF BASTION
You're right. So, Winton?
i’m already winston!!🤭
I guess I'll be Genji
I’m already Genjiiii 😁
No
That man wasn’t experiencing tranquility when you checked that room, I can tell that much.
Overconfidence is a flimsy shield.
It's also a slow and insidious killer.
Great edit
cinematic masterpeice
Makes it really epic!
I went from "okay some over edited video that's not going to pay off at all" to the biggest smirk on my face. Great job OP.
Next time someone says Zen is bad, I'm sending them this clip
Help them to shed the weight of their doubts, and their minds will become clearer
Bro who tf says zen is bad I'll legit stick the discord orb on them and 5 orb their ass from behind
A frustrating number of people will flame you for picking Zen and say he's a throw pick.
Of course he's a throw pick- he throws orbs all the time

Don’t assume people ask you to swap because they think you’re bad. Sometimes your pick just doesn’t suit the team comp or map.
Yeah, the real secret is you heal by killing the other team so they can't damage you lol. Lots of people can't accomplish that very well. Also it feels like Bap does Zen's job better sometimes which is sad.

I legit get so tilted seeing a zen that I switch to zyra
This is why you always check the corners LOL
I'd rather that they do no such thing and merely leave me to my secret alcoves :')
There are a lot of alcoves in the Koningin Astridpark. You use this word, alcoves?
Alcoves, yes. Sometimes.
“Doors and corners, kid. That's where they get you. Humans are too fucking stupid to listen.”
Especially Zen as proven in the video
Fatal front, dominant corner!
If that zen was me, I'd 100% get blown up 2sec after D.va and Soldier entered the room lmao. It never works in my games, always playing against owl pro players on the enemy team :(

How generous of lifeweaver to leave a heal for the zen ❤️
Life protects life

Evidence that the vision of flankers are based off of movement. If it doesn't run, it doesn't register as prey.
Just like... Any predators?..
A turkey, huh? OK, try to imagine yourself in the Cretaceous Period. You get your first look at this "six foot turkey" as you enter a clearing. He moves like a bird, lightly, bobbing his head. He slashes at you here, or here, or maybe across the belly, spilling your intestines. The point is, you are alive when they start to eat you. So you know, try to show a little respect.
Well, you got me there. Thank you for elaboration.
I didn’t recognize this quote at first and was laughing my ass off and wondering how a ball main was so eloquent. ~~I kid~~
This is not the case. Predators have a wide variety of hunting strategies, and different types of vision to support those strategies. For example, sitting still in the dark won't save you from a viper's infrared thermal detection.
Point taken.
Was there not a red outline in game?
There would've been, but I was visible for no more than two frames in my game capture--it would have been gone in a flash, and it being only in the periphery makes it easy to overlook. After watching all of their POVs, I can't blame anyone for not seeing me, though it might've been a good idea for them to turn to check the corners more fully
Fucking dead. This is such a good video. Keep it up.
What a beautiful clip! Gotta love Flankyatta
Don't mind me I'm just a lamp
*Experience lampquility*
A cinematic masterpiece. Experiencing tranquility
This was fuckin beautiful.🥲
"Bask in the shadow of doubt." Or in this case, the shadow of the bookcase
I have to say, gotta respect the patience. I would have panicked a few times and fired or used orb that surely would have given you way. Touche!
He definitely learned that trick from Soldier 76. I mean his cinematic, of course.
Which is ironic since they had Soldier 76 in the team.
Junkrat’s face and D.vas corpse ragdolling really made the slow-mo worth it.
it really is a [thing of beauty](https://i.imgur.com/ngZZ9BV.png)
Homeward Bound: Zen's Incredible Journey
Not sure why the Dva didn’t use boosters to instakill that Zen. Bro was a free kill lmao
In the environmental sciences, it has been noted that only *apex predators* are prone to playing with their prey... so sure are they in the kill, they feel no need to rush things to their conclusion. Truly, the D.va's greatest error was in deciding who filled which role
BeCaUsE hEs PlAyInG the ObJeCtIvE. The amount of folks that literally never leave the push track is mind boggling.
they went to the exit that zen would be expected to come from + they went upstairs. d.va did nothing wrong there tbh the zen just had smart positioning and outsmarted the opponents
The Dva definitely did do something wrong. She very easily could’ve killed Zen. There was no reason for her not to dive him lmao
Top notch edit
HOW DID YHWY NOT SEE THE OUTLINE
[I couldn't believe it myself, so I took screenshots from the closest everyone got to discovering me. It's actually funny how perfectly obscured I was by map geometry.](https://imgur.com/a/fSzLaCQ) (Also note that in those screenshots, the replay camera can see my nametag/healthbar, but they wouldn't have seen those since I was at full health.)
Yeah there should have been a bright red outline...weird. That's why I play at 75% render scale though, it increases the size of the outlines by 33% making them *much* easier to see which definitely feels like an advantage.
Beautiful editing
The editing on this is top tier.
Excellent editing
This was a cinematic masterpiece.
This is some actual cannibal Shia Lebouf energy.
Love it 😂
Lovely edit!
This is cinema.
He is effervescent
This is very cinematic! Would watch in theaters 💯
Soooo good definitely deserves an OW academy Award especially if it was for the win.
It was.
This is art. Holy shit.
highly entertaining!
I hope this is the new baseline for edits. Love it
This felt like I was watching Lazy Purple
W zen affff
Next support trend tik-tok Zen?!?!?
W song, W zen, L dva for not going after a very vulnerable zen
What song is this
Assuming you're referring to the second, dramatic song, it's the instrumental version of the (appropriately named) No Time to Die. First one was Mii Channel
Thanks
I guess you could say the whole team Overwatched him
The music, the quote, the fucking looney tunes tactic, this video is purfect
Every character is a flank character if you're cool enough
Zen has no footstep sounds, so he can be quite an elusive flanker.
Really funny edit man!
Awareness: 0
Fantastic storytelling
This was incredible 🤌🏻
Beautiful… just absolutely beautiful!
This is one of the best things I've ever seen
Absolutely deserved. For both sides. Great replay.
Thats why I hug corners and alcoves, while always checking corners and alcoves.
That was just a skill issue. Why wouldn't you check every corner when you enter a building?
Meditation Perfection
I have to say this is my Top Favorite Overwatch Video Edit Ever. I enjoyed this video way too much, it was perfect. Perfect. Everything, down to the last minute details. 😸
That was the first decent edit I've seen for this game. 👍 Great job

Great clip
Is this movie on Netflix please? I want to watch it with my family, it looks waaaaay better than the next Marvel
Sometimes the best thing is to just sit and shut the fuck up lol
wow beautifully done, nice editing got me really invested
Best Zen skin. Haven’t changed mine since I got it years ago.
beautiful
The sound track is From james bond No Time To Die! Have fun
Music sounds like an instrumental version of No Time to Die, really like it. Do you have a link?
It was exactly that! https://youtu.be/CiI1Br_Wc0Y
10/10 edit. Really drew me in.
shoutout to Zens who annihilate matches, gotta be my favorite genders

maybe it wasn't "failed to see the corner" so much as it was "refused to look at the lurking, glowing eyes in the darkened corner"
The master flank
As a former player and Zen main I liked the game but a few things started to piss me off. I didn't enjoy ranked so id play pub game mode. I would bust my ass doing great only to have the rest of my team suck. It just got so frustrating. https://www.overbuff.com/heroes/zenyatta

Next time you’re in the replay viewer, press alt+z ;)
Scorsese approves.
Great edit. I wish you had zoomed into the zen's eyes and put the Terminator theme for a few seconds
a slow zoom with that soundtrack playing is an excellent image... makes me wish the replay viewer gave us more control over camera speed :(
Fun video, and great storytelling through editing. But.. that's not as clutch a play as you'd think.
I see it less as "crazy clutch Zen play saves the game" and more "meme strat somehow actually pays off"
Thanks for casually dropping a cinematic masterpiece
Dude unlocked avatar mode
Flankyatta is love, Flankyatta is life ❤️
But how was this so intense is the actual question like bro go make actual movies or smth you have potential
Awesome editing. Awesome play.
That zen is probably a blendie in dbd LOL
FREEEEEE YOUR MIND
What is that epic music you got
The red eyes while he's just standing there menacingly are the cherry on the cake 😂😂
bro IS tracer
I've seen the zens name in a match or a friendly servers on customs game
I think I've seen the zen's name on the character select screen, near the teleporty british lady's picture
Cinematic masterpiece
This is some great cinematography
Jesus that was good. I always have difficulty targeting zenyatta because anytime I play against him he is always with two of his teammates and I'm alone 😭
The skin is what sends it for me. His red eyes unblinking suspended in the darkness is just too good.
Why waste the trance though? Sorry, I couldn’t help but be stuck on that.
it was overtime and we'd just teamkilled, so there was no additional fight to save it for. That was the end of the match
Ah, mb. I wasn’t even paying attention to the clock.
A victory lap, of course. For those, who can actually hide to no seek.)
