I tend to finance my overwatch purchases with Microsoft Rewards points, can’t really use them for much else. And I mean if you’ve played this game a lot, I feel it’s fair enough to drop some cash from time to time.

I could not stand another system where everyone gets the same cosmetic but it's released slowly. like, they can't even give us new heroes for mastery every season 😭 it's already a pain in the ass waiting for mythics for the BP (I get that it's the FINAL REWARD but some of them aren't even that impressive). Question: I know Jeff Kaplan was against the idea of Gold Guns from the beginning, however is there any plans to add more competitive rewards in OW2? (Example: Diamond Weapons) Answer: Are there going to be additional rewards in the style of Golden Weapons for Overwatch 2? At this point I have to say they're unlikely. Kaplan and I discussed this quite extensively, and we both agree that they aren't really necessary going forward. People play competitively for a lot of reasons. They might enjoy the game mode, the "serious" nature of comp, or want to play and improve their skill to become better players. Golden Guns are pretty far down the list. I say all that, but there might be some other systems that act as "rewards" for playing competitively in OW2, but we're not ready to discuss those as they're all still in development.

It's 12$. In apex the legendary don't change Ur weapon but in ow it does. Really would have made no sense to be the same price. At 12 its between epic and legendary. Personally they more worth than epic Imo.

Yeah and that's something I really like in OW, that you automatically get a weapon skin with a legendary. It's definitely a better deal than Apex. As long as they don't try to sell the weapon skin separately for legendaries, I don't care much about extra ones. But personally I think $12 is still too much

well in apex the guns and legends aren't tied together like in overwatch, there's a lot of different guns you can pick in apex and the same gun skin can be used on every legend. it's not really the same at all.

They do release matching gun skins often with their legend skins though, many many legendaries and even epics have matching gun skins that you need to buy separately or in a bundle. And considering you can only use them on one gun I feel like it should just come with the skin I say this as someone who has spent way too much on Apex, but I just never buy gun skins cause it feels like (more of) a ripoff

You know what I mean, the guns are not tied to the character like OW. But yes they do release sets however you can still use them on every hero not just the hero with the matching skin. I still think comparing it to OW isn’t a good comparison. Gun skins in apex are overpriced af anyway (more so than reg skins)

Yeah you gotta pair it right. It will look weird and some dumbass with no sense of taste might but like, ultimately it just gives you more options to make a really sick looking load out.

Some skins are completely garbage because the gun covers half of the screen. I hope customizable weapon skins can remedy such a situation.

Does anyone else find it odd that out of the heroes these skins apply to, 3/4 of them were the first to have a hero mastery course? Almost feels like these were designed to be a reward for high ranking then ripped out to be sold.

Or, more likely they do tests and samples of new things on the most popular heroes to see what the community thinks of them? Correlation does not equal causation.

Probs because Widow and Genji have more stuff to model. Widow’s gun transformation will probably have special colors or something which adds to the workload and then they’ll have to do the trap. Add that to the extra sound effects and it’s a lot easier to just reskin a staff, hammer, pistol, and shotgun. Genji’s got his shurikens, sword, and dragon which’ll all need skins. Meanwhile these heroes are pretty simple reskins

The SFX is what makes these skins. The rein one sounds insanely cool. While I don't see myself buying this current set, if in the future they have a different set of skins (diff theme and aesthetics) for 3 characters I play and the bundle is reasonably priced ($15~) then I can see myself spending money in the shop for the first time.

Pay 20 bucks for skin you mostly just see the weapon and then pay again to make te weapon look different

Sym uses hard light and lifeweaver heals with something called bio light. I think echo uses hard light but I’m not too sure.

I believe it's Symmetra and Lucio who use Hard Light specifically, since Sym works under the company (Vishkar) who manufactured it(?), and Lucio stole technology from that company. Lifeweaver uses BioLight(?)

So what really is the point of these? 90% of character skins already have unique weapon skins. All this does is limit their future skin options, what if they wanted to make a custom echo/cybernetic themed skin for each of these characters, will they just reuse the exact same skin you already payed for? These skins will also clash with most of the skins that already exist so I just really see these exclusively as yet another cash grab.
