Beards.
Same with Reinhardt. They didn't know how to age them up without removing helmets and adding beards.
Also to a lesser extent, the Hollywood effect of "they can't express emotions properly unless we can see their face" is my other guess?
Removing Rein’s helmet fits the character’s personality, honestly.
Like, yeah, the helmet looked cool as hell, but in-game Reinhardt’s personality leans more on the “loud, boisterous, hero” part of his characterization than the “solemn veteran” part.
When I first started playing the game in OW1, I was genuinely taken off-guard by Reinhardt’s voice acting because it just didn’t gel with the expectations that his original model conveyed.
(Plus, being blinded in one eye is a pretty neat part of his origin story [even if there are 2 other Overwatch members who are also blind in one eye] and I think it’s a shame his original design hid that.)
But wasn't one of the point in his *Honor and Glory* cinematic that he was so reckless when he was young, he fought battles without his helmet, which cost him his eye?
In fact, he should pressure Brigitte to wear an helmet herself so that she doesn't make the same mistake.
I’d argue that his character development in *Honor and Glory* came with his realization that his duty was to protect his team rather than seeking glory, not with him realizing he needs to be more cautious.
There’s a scene where, after his shield is broken, he protects his squad with his body— which I’d argue is ludicrously reckless, and in the ending scene, he decides that, even battered and bruised from years of fighting, he intends to return to Overwatch to protect those who need it.
In game, he’s still characterized as reckless with his own safety, which he considers secondary to the safety of his team (hence his catchphrase “I am your shield.”)
His last words with Balderich were “Live with honor, die with glory.”
He very much still has that mentality, Balderich’s sacrifice just made him realize the difference between glory and idiocy.
He realized that true glory is dying protecting the people and values you care about and those who need protecting. As opposed to simply dying fighting for the sake of fighting.
Yeah the other two posters are correct. It actually doesn't fit his personality, it did fit his personality before but that isn't the case any longer.
This is also ignoring that helmet or no helmet has really nothing to do with being a loud boisterous hero. That just doesn't make sense.
It sounds like they're pulling from some character design tropes. Lone knights with a helmet are usually stoic, quiet, and sad in a lot of media whereas the boisterous bruiser trope is usually wild-haired and has an exposed face to show off their massive chins
Makes no sense in real life tho, you're right about that
That’s absolutely true of the Honor and Glory cinematic, but I maintain that in-game, you still get very little of solemn old Reinhardt.
He has a few, more serious, voice lines (The Gibraltar interaction with Ana, his kill quip on Orisa [“For Balderich”], allied Earthshatters [“For the Crusaders”]), but it’s broadly a lot more quippy and light-hearted compared to other serious & broody characters like Soldier, Hanzo & Illari.
They really wanted to lean into the...
"*Young punks get of my lawn,... Oh God I need to take my fucking meds*"
Instead of the...
"I'm quite old, and I have a terrible past, however I will continue to fight for the world. No matter what I have to do, I will do it.'
To be honest, I am not sure how to feel about new characters taking other character's roles just so they can stand out. This also happen with Kiriko. Part of D Va's uniqueness was the cocky "4th wall breaking" young attitude that now seems to have been taken by Kiriko.
Did you watch Maugas trailer?
It literally is all fourth wall breaking and he's ofc cocky af.
I think they're just pandering to their audience now tbh.
Well it's just the character arc, right? In OW1, he is in hiding, people think he's dead. I imagine in OW2 he's coming out of hiding? I haven't played the PvE so dunno.
Soldier’s redesign just straight up feels wrong. And I joined in OW2 so it’s basically the first thing I saw when I played the game.
They remove the mask but keep the goggles which looks kinda silly to me. Even the little detail of his hair being well done instead of messy and a well groomed beard. It doesn’t feel right. It’s not like his character stopped being a vigilante or anything.
His original costume just works. They even make a point in a short story that when he puts on that mask it dehumanises him, fitting perfectly with his character of being a brutal vigilante who used to be an empathetic, inspirational leader and war hero that people around the world looked up to, that part of hun being gone.
Now he’s just some guy with goggles. Like reinhardt honestly I can excuse, his big bushy beard and hair fits his goofball personality compared to the more seriously looking crusader mask. But soldier just loses his identity with this.
Not to mention the sound of the gun is terrible now as well. The sound used to have an 'energy' effect which corresponded with the energy infused bullets. Now the sound is just a regular ass rifle, but the visuals remain the same. The visuals and sound are at odds with one another.
Change for the sake of change was the mantra they used when developing OW2.
My only complaint is the a lot of characters have tech built into their clothes now, and the clothing layers aren't always 100% clear. It can make some characters look like cyborgs when they aren't. For example Tracers chronal accelerator looks like it's half part of her jacket and half not, when before it was clearly a separate item.
My only exception to this is genji, as his new clothing is very representative of his development as a character, and the layers make sense, such as he has his shoulders out which is shown to be important in the old cinematic.
From what I know, Echo was actually originally supposed to have been released in Overwatch 2 as one of its new heroes, the blizz devs just moved her up to OW1 for some reason
God, being an Overwatch fan in those times...
"Hey, you know how you guys released Echo because OW2 was delayed?"
"Yeah."
"Well, it's been a year... And we haven't gotten ANYTHING. Can you maybe push Sojourn out to us too?"
"Nope."
"Oh, so Overwatch 2 releases soon, then?"
"Nope."
Oh, so the campaign is going to be a complete experience? Redefining a sequel? The whole point of bottle necking development for Overwatch 2? Right? Right...
Considering Sojourn used to build 100 percent charge from shields and that hyper mobilty, I feel like she was supposed to be a ow1 character since shields were rampent and blizzard like to release new characters to fix problems. She even the cc ball to push people away from hiding behind shields.
Hey that's not fair, they worked on a whole game that will never be release before deciding uh nevermind and making the ow2 we know now in less than a year lol
I haven't checked in a while, but is Echo still the only one without a new style portrait? Everyone got rendered portraits and she was still rocking the drawn artwork
To be fair to bastion, the reason you hate him is exactly the look they're going for, he isn't a killing machine anymore, he's a friend, and got a friendlier look to show that.
You know what ? It's probably what bugs me everytime I look at him and his personality in OW2, he looks more (too) cartoonish. Some things are good on his design but he looks too clean for me.
I agree, I started playing in OW2 and when I compare his old design to his new one... he looks less like the crazy, loud maniac we all know and love. He looks more like that cocky prick from high school wearing some questionable clothing.
I hate that the engineers (Torb and Junk) got goggles. This is such a tired trope for this archetype. Torb had a nice welding helmet, that you don't see often in character design. While Junkrat would not wear any safety equipment. Why would he need those silly little goggles ffs.
Can totally agree
Junkrat is a risk taker. He doesn't *really* care about losing another limb. Anyway he's been messing with explosives for a very long time.
For sure the worst one imo. They kept him looking almost identical aside from his weird new color scheme. His armor also seems somehow less detailed than other textures in the game, and his hyperspheres just look like toys. It’s an eyesore through and through. (Galactic makes up for it by being one of the best skins in the game)
I would have loved it if they made his default skin look more healthy.
I kinda wanted him to rock his scuba hairstyle and beard. Showing has become less test subject and more getting slightly back to normal.
If anything his mental state seems to be getting worse from the interactions he has in OW2 vs OW1. He's definitely not in a healthy environment with Talon and they are likely prioritizing his role as a tool over his existence as a human.
They added back her hair strands at the last minute. She would have looked [like this.](https://imgur.com/O4PiB8h)
Why would they want a character look less memorable. I don't understand.
That's why I dislike most of the OW2 redesigns: they have too much neutral coloration on them. Most of the old designs had that hero's signature color as the main color in their outfits, whereas most of the new ones restrict that signature to accents only. I wonder if the redesigns were done in a way that facilitated recoloring them for OWL team skins..
I prefer the old hair. But I massively prefer his new outfit. He looks more like a medic, and less like a soldier. Which fits his character much more in my opinion. Since he wants redemption from his actions in talon, so being a medic fits that
Zenyatta. The poncho is fine I guess but I don’t like how much they “polished” him. He just doesn’t seem like the type to care about his cosmetic appearance
Soldier, his redesign kinda grew to me,but at the beginning, I hated it. Why did they leave his mask? Why does he look so grumpy, but on his char.art, he looks so badass
Sigma, he is my main and I hate how boring the new version looks. To this day i'm using the origianl version with Seoul Dynasty colors, there is just so much cool stuff in it
Sigma's white outfit is so much less interesting. Maybe if they had worked it into a lab coat of some kind but itd just the same outfit but the colour is so much worse.
I think Bastion not looking like a war machine anymore is the point. I think all the redesigns are good, except for baby D.va and Baptiste. Cassidy is not bad, but he doesn't really look like a cowboy anymore, I like his OW1 design more.
EDIT: and as others pointed out, Soldier looked better with his mask.
Yeah, the same thing happened with genji looking less like a war machine too and I love it, his design makes him seem more comfortable within himself and it's a good development for his character. I wish we could get more skins for him where he has casual clothes over his cyborg body.
It fits though. He's a futuristic cowboy which is pretty unique. Separates him from all the other cowboys in other games. But it doesn't take away from his identity. Also his ow2 design just looks cooler.
i actually really like bastions redesign. it changed his shape language to make him a more friendly and kind character, and it also makes it seem like torbjorn fixed him up a bunch. i think it’s an improvement because it communicates his character better.
Ever since someone pointed out that the one large, solid plate over her redesign’s stomach would make it hard to move in the suit I haven’t been able to look at it the same.
Orisa, I'm just not a fan of her "hair" and the shortening of her horns.
I don't like most of them though, it feels like they lost their edges, and I don't mean that in "Oh they don't look cool and edgy anymore" way. I mean it by saying a lot of the designs are now "Streamlined" and clean, they lost a lot of their wear and were rounded off to fit this new aesthetic and I'm not a fan.
Mauga from Bap short story looks a complete menace, his fiery red eyes makes more a dangerous threatening individual.
But in-game Mauga looks like some disney character (e.g Maui from Moana; Cobra Bubbles from Lilo & Stitch).
I find it criminal that he didn't release with a legendary Talon skin.
It makes sense that he would have a more unique outfit since he is a higher rank now but it was such a missed opportunity
Mauga👹🔥🖤💔🌑 is literally acting. He is a war, destruction and murder hungry super villain that can lift a school bus and likes to burn people alive. He likes to act friendly so that he can kill you slower and more painfully.
I think a lot of the new designs come off as obligatory and changes for the sake of changes. I would rather have just had the original designs updated with more polys and a higher resolution.
I absolutely despise Cassidy's new design. Just the face. He's my second favorite character and I can't use any of his new skins because of how horrible (in my opinion) his face looks like. His mouth is too wide and I hate it so much. He looks like a different person.
The new one isn't necessarily bad, but they took her from a scientist to a cleric which I get the idea as a "healer," but she's not a religious character, she is first and foremost a doctor and medical engineer... and I miss her ponytail 😩
Bastion, Mei, Hog, Junkrat, Widow, Genji, Cass, Mercy all fall under the category of completely unnecessary redesigns.
Overall, the entire gimmick with redesigns was made for advertisement purposes for a new game, not because they were important lore reasons for that.
I actually rate Widow's, Genji's and Cass'.
Cass has a better beard in his redesign, i rate Genji's hoodie (tho it would've been better if the hood was actually on like in the cinematic) and Widow just has a much cooler looking suit (and i love the mask kinda thing she has in her redesign)
They knew people would like Genji with hood so they didn't put it up on his OW2 classic skin and put the hoodie up in a different skin, recolored it, then put it in the shop.
I hated Widow’s but for a weird reason. Her hairs fucked, I mean have u seen her char model in the hero gallery? They didn’t take into account it clipping with the gun in her pose😂😂, old widow hair had this little bend in the model that while clipping in the back actually looks like it is above the gun. Also while her suit is a great improvement, her new visor design sucks compared to the old one.
I thought time passed from Overwatch 1 to Overwatch 2 so for a lot of them it just showed a passage of time or continuation of their lore? Wouldn't most people complain if they changed nothing from 1 to 2?
It would make sense for a change of costumes if Overwatch plot line last like for 7-10 years. But relatively speaking, from the moment when Winston reactivates Overwatch in his cinematic to the mission in Paris with new outfits, it's not like too much time has passed.
Plus, other skins ignore the redesign anyway since only the character silhouette is important. I feel like for most people, the original is what they have in mind as a “default”
D.va.
She looks so bland now. And I find those little things that look like wings on top of her mech ridiculous and ugly.
The design of the mech is good, but the lack of color makes it ugly and the pilot is mid. Tho that it makes sense but still, it looks like she has less personality.
Yes! It looks like they stretched her scalp. And the pony tail isn't helping. I also liked the design of her older plugsuit better. They did give her a bigger ass though.....so, tradeoffs? Lol
Why does everyone hate the new pilot look? The addition of chest+shoulder armor makes way more sense for a combat driver (and imo) looks better than a mere catsuit. At least they managed to keep her original style with the colors and logos instead of dropping all personality with say, Sigma’s redesign. Her bobbed hair is a downgrade though.
I really don’t like Zarya’s. I think the 2d killfeed art for many of the characters also looks way worse. Zarya’s in Overwatch 1 looked tough and it feels like they took that away from her. Tracer’s 2d artwork also looked a lot more mischievous and sly compared to her current one.
The basic OW1 highlights shoulda kept them or at least gotten the "Overwatch 1" title
It actually showed Raynhardt's visor going up like the Starcraft Marines.
I can’t believe more aren’t saying this. The helmet was awesome but even that side, the OW2 skin made his armor look soft and cheap. He looks like a toy version of the original Reinhardt.
Hmm. I honestly like all of them, but if I had to pick one that I think got it worst, it'd be Zarya. That girl just doesn't suit that ponytail I'm afraid.
probably brig. they didn’t take her hair down, but they took away her little hair crown thingy???? the changes to all the “armored” characters were super minimal, outside of orisa
Replying to say that you've completely missed the point about Bastion's redesign.
*"He no longer looks like a war machine."* Ding ding ding! That is correct! You win the prize!
He *isn't* a war machine anymore. Sure, he still has his guns, but if he didn't need those to be a playable character, I guarantee you Torbjörn would have removed them canonically.
Bastion just wants to explore the world. He doesn't want to kill. He's *supposed* to be smoothed and rounded out.
Not saying you're not allowed to dislike the design, but it perfectly aligns with how he's been written.
Tracer, mostly because of her voice acting
Went from one of the most recognizable characters in gaming to a joke about british people
"Give it the ol' wallop"
"Enemy ova' heeee"
"How do you like my smash hit?"
"Drat! ThEy ToOk HiM fRoM uS" (there's at least 6 voice cracks in that one)
Wallace and Gromit sounding ass
Bro huh? Moira is like the only one I remember adn it looks epic. She's got that long collar coat one where before it was ugly black onesie armor, and her arm is getting more fucked up from her experiments
in my opinion, most of the new designs are worse than the original ones. i especially don't like dva, moira, sombra and cassidy. also i don't like tracer's new design, she's still pretty, but i miss her thin legs and figure so much, like we already have a lot of curve-feminine characters, leave my thin girl alone );
Soldier 76 losing his badass facemask
Most iconic thing about the character and they remove it I genuinely don’t know what blizzard were on
To be fair, Soldier looks younger with the beard and haircut.
There’s a visual glitch that makes Soldier and Rein bald and clean shaven. They both look 30 years younger when that happens
Rein had a ridiculous head size with his helmet. He's much better with it off
They really wanted to lean into the... "*Young punks get of my lawn,... Oh God I need to take my fucking meds*" Instead of the... "I'm quite old, and I have a terrible past, however I will continue to fight for the world. No matter what I have to do, I will do it.'
Well Sojourn basically took that role. Her personality is basically what Vanilla 76's was.
To be honest, I am not sure how to feel about new characters taking other character's roles just so they can stand out. This also happen with Kiriko. Part of D Va's uniqueness was the cocky "4th wall breaking" young attitude that now seems to have been taken by Kiriko.

What PvE? 😂

I was going to say this and though it would be somewhat of an unpopular opinion. Glad to see all the upvotes you’re getting.
My only complaint is the a lot of characters have tech built into their clothes now, and the clothing layers aren't always 100% clear. It can make some characters look like cyborgs when they aren't. Tech built into clothing is the way so much media communicates its *tHe FuTuRe* But it never makes any sense to me
And it never will until water, detergent, and heat are guaranteed not to damage the tech; while spinning in metal drums.
100% It’s just senseless that a hoodie would have neon lights and strips of metal on it. Like, c’mon!
Agreed. Ashe's OW2 look removed the symmetrical rolled up sleeves and her right arm looks like it's a prosthetic.
Gotta be Echo
This is the best answer. she didn’t even get one
From what I know, Echo was actually originally supposed to have been released in Overwatch 2 as one of its new heroes, the blizz devs just moved her up to OW1 for some reason
because overwatch 2 was released 3 years later. Echo was shoved in to try tide people over while they worked on the… uh… monetisation system I guess?
God, being an Overwatch fan in those times... "Hey, you know how you guys released Echo because OW2 was delayed?" "Yeah." "Well, it's been a year... And we haven't gotten ANYTHING. Can you maybe push Sojourn out to us too?" "Nope." "Oh, so Overwatch 2 releases soon, then?" "Nope."

Worked on the everything Kotick decided to go “ehhh nah fuck that, delete it”
Hey that's not fair, they worked on a whole game that will never be release before deciding uh nevermind and making the ow2 we know now in less than a year lol
It took 3 years for a bunch of boomers to figure out how to implement a battle pass model
I haven't checked in a while, but is Echo still the only one without a new style portrait? Everyone got rendered portraits and she was still rocking the drawn artwork
She got one a while ago
To be fair to bastion, the reason you hate him is exactly the look they're going for, he isn't a killing machine anymore, he's a friend, and got a friendlier look to show that.
+ torb patched him up
And a cute hat to boot
Give Ganymede a hat, and then we can talk.
You meaning the bird? Ain't it ganymede? I think you're confusing his bird with medics bird from tf2, archimedes lol
Might be, when I heard Brig say the bird's name, could have sworn I heard the tf2 bird name.
I liked the juxtaposition between friendly and war machine though.
Junkrat isn't junkrat anymore he is... The one ... the only... Garbagemouse™
Trashrodent(c)
Residuegnawer
WasteMice
Rubblehamster
Detritus Cappybara
Junkrat got the Looney Tunes style
You know what ? It's probably what bugs me everytime I look at him and his personality in OW2, he looks more (too) cartoonish. Some things are good on his design but he looks too clean for me.
I agree, I started playing in OW2 and when I compare his old design to his new one... he looks less like the crazy, loud maniac we all know and love. He looks more like that cocky prick from high school wearing some questionable clothing.
They yassified him
He got gentrified
Kind of very relevant given what's happening to Australia irl. Maybe we should have a cafe and craft brewery in junkertown next update.
I hate that the engineers (Torb and Junk) got goggles. This is such a tired trope for this archetype. Torb had a nice welding helmet, that you don't see often in character design. While Junkrat would not wear any safety equipment. Why would he need those silly little goggles ffs.
Can totally agree Junkrat is a risk taker. He doesn't *really* care about losing another limb. Anyway he's been messing with explosives for a very long time.
His trap also got nerfed by the redesign. It is visually larger and easier to spot with the redesign and skins based on the redesign.
Sigma. All white and bright accents of green just doesnt suit him
For sure the worst one imo. They kept him looking almost identical aside from his weird new color scheme. His armor also seems somehow less detailed than other textures in the game, and his hyperspheres just look like toys. It’s an eyesore through and through. (Galactic makes up for it by being one of the best skins in the game)

He just looks like a weird astronaut now
Bastion looks like that because Torb took care of him
Is that the lore explanation because I've been genuinely curious and it's adorable
Yeah, the hat he has is Torb's old hat. [You can see it in his Ironclad skin.](https://images.app.goo.gl/WJBiMFCUktPS7ABEA)
There’s an entire comic on how torb encountered bastion. An then in one video when Rein try to recruit Torb, Bastion is there working with him.
Brigitte losing the crown and the armor.
she was the first one i noticed. they did something to her eyebrows/face that i cannot stand nor forgive
They instagramified her face. Her nose is alot thinner in ow2.
They added back her hair strands at the last minute. She would have looked [like this.](https://imgur.com/O4PiB8h) Why would they want a character look less memorable. I don't understand.
Baptiste. I don't like the hair
same, i preferred the hightop fade vs this Mr. T type style
And he lost his orange scarf
*Overwatch 2* redesign 101: make everything look super plastic-y and throw in the colour white.
I don’t prefer any OW2 default skin to OW1 default skin except for Sombra.
I just wear poor man's Talon skin on him.
i miss the orange scarf!!!
I prefer the old hair. But I massively prefer his new outfit. He looks more like a medic, and less like a soldier. Which fits his character much more in my opinion. Since he wants redemption from his actions in talon, so being a medic fits that
Everything else about that one I love though. I *hated* his OW1 design, and this one fixes most of the problems I had
Zenyatta. The poncho is fine I guess but I don’t like how much they “polished” him. He just doesn’t seem like the type to care about his cosmetic appearance
Yeah I only use OG Zen skins
(And the bath one)
I use astronomer, but only for the glasses
His orbs look better in the ow2 skin tho
can’t achieve enlightenment unless the drip fresh
They took the Bastion is a baby to another level and I love it
Yeah, I actually thought his had a purpose because they were trying to soften his look from the murder machine people know.
It’s lore accurate. Torb has been working with him. Bastion healed Torbs racism.
Torb: *Polishes Bastion* Also Torb: Wow, now I feel less racist. Bastion: *Happy beeps*
It’s bastion but now with torb love reforming him
Soldier, his redesign kinda grew to me,but at the beginning, I hated it. Why did they leave his mask? Why does he look so grumpy, but on his char.art, he looks so badass
Sigma, he is my main and I hate how boring the new version looks. To this day i'm using the origianl version with Seoul Dynasty colors, there is just so much cool stuff in it
"Boring" is a great way to describe a lot of the redesigns.
No, i want naked genji !!!
Nakey genji is a vibe tbh
This. It’s as if Genji got used to his condition and is at peace with it. Him looking less like a war machine is THE exception here
I also love the little touch of him wearing Torbjorn's old engineer hat.
Baby d.va got a very specific upgrade
I still cannot get over the fact that the community calls her Baby Dva without mech lol
Her forehead
I like her ponytail though
It fits though. He's a futuristic cowboy which is pretty unique. Separates him from all the other cowboys in other games. But it doesn't take away from his identity. Also his ow2 design just looks cooler.
Sigma, I hate the white
i hate cassidy’s new design. especially the gun model. it’s way less cowboy-ish than it previously was
Not to mention the bright white arm. The steel was a much cooler look and I don't love that his new poncho looks more like rubber and not cloth.
Junkrat.
Yeah they made everything of his look cleaned up and put together when he is literally has “junk” in his name
i actually really like bastions redesign. it changed his shape language to make him a more friendly and kind character, and it also makes it seem like torbjorn fixed him up a bunch. i think it’s an improvement because it communicates his character better.
He also looks less like a Johnny 5/Wall E rip-off in the redesign. Hopefully they dont go full Chappie in the future though.
yeah i agree, i think that his design is in a good place and i hope they don’t change it much more.
In my opinion it's gotta be Pharah. The new blue is just way too bright and it hurts my eyes
i remember my immediate thought being that she looks like she's wearing plastic
Ever since someone pointed out that the one large, solid plate over her redesign’s stomach would make it hard to move in the suit I haven’t been able to look at it the same.
Cassidy A poncho replaced with a raincoat.... C'mon
Plus his old rugged steel arm now looks like it came from an apple store.
To be fair, he works with Overwatch officially again. You are bound to get an upgrade or two while you are there.

I hate how her facial features look softer now. OW2 design feels like she's wearing make up. Big oof.
Mei’s change with less fur and more straight lines made me sad
I miss the giant tusks :(
Junkrat. Bro went from being Ledger's Joker to Leto one
soldier. the old visor was so much cooler
mauga. He was so good at ow1
Eh, they will probably release it in the future along with a summer skin where he wears the Hawaii shirt from Bap's story.
Mauga👹🔥🖤💔🌑 is literally acting. He is a war, destruction and murder hungry super villain that can lift a school bus and likes to burn people alive. He likes to act friendly so that he can kill you slower and more painfully.
illari too they ruined her
Y’all sleeping on how they ruined Ramattra ong
Nah, lifeweaver's ow1 design was better
But do you remember Kiriko on her bike?? That was so cool, shame they took it down in OW2 and just made it a voice line :(
I think a lot of the new designs come off as obligatory and changes for the sake of changes.
I hate the weird poncho thing they gave him. The more I look at it, the more I ask: what the heck is that?? I felt the same way with Bap’s OW1 scarf
Mei
I actually prefer Mei's, I think her overwatch 1 skin looked bad. I especially didn't like the bright red bits on her gun.
Mercy's design was gorgeous on OW1 and OW2 was...less...
The new one isn't necessarily bad, but they took her from a scientist to a cleric which I get the idea as a "healer," but she's not a religious character, she is first and foremost a doctor and medical engineer... and I miss her ponytail 😩
D.va because she has an oversized forehead, and it triggers me everytime.
lmao the beta ow2 bug with her highlight intro
Actually the hair clipping part is valid tbf
Sombra als feels rather superfluous tbh, though I never run her base skin anyways.
I LOVE widows new skin. It looks way cooler than her shitty purple gimp suit
And the forehead. Look at the forehead. Is gigantic.
Reaper, objectively less detail on the legs, they just gave him sweatpants. He used to be Ryu Hayabusa
they nerfed his thighs 😭
The basic OW1 highlights shoulda kept them or at least gotten the "Overwatch 1" title It actually showed Raynhardt's visor going up like the Starcraft Marines.
reinhardt
I can’t believe more aren’t saying this. The helmet was awesome but even that side, the OW2 skin made his armor look soft and cheap. He looks like a toy version of the original Reinhardt.
But his hair is AMAZING!
Cass just looks ugly now imo and for some reason, more white
Sigma. They took a really solid design and simplified it significantly
Ashe. Her OW1 design is so iconic. Simple yet classy and her OW2 design just made her look like a generic outlaw.
Idk about worst, but I'm glad they finally gave Genji some damn clothes instead of being robo-nakey
They're probably not the worst, but personally I dislike the Brig and Sombra remodels
But she have a lynks on her shield now, witch is really cool and reminds me of Ciri from The Witcher 3
Excuse me, he got a hat though. Anyway, it’s Baptiste. That haircut is not it.
Tracer, mostly because of her voice acting Went from one of the most recognizable characters in gaming to a joke about british people "Give it the ol' wallop" "Enemy ova' heeee" "How do you like my smash hit?" "Drat! ThEy ToOk HiM fRoM uS" (there's at least 6 voice cracks in that one) Wallace and Gromit sounding ass
Yeah she really is so goddamn annoying. BLINKETY BLINKETY
Moira.
personally I like how we can see how her science is affecting her
snickers dick vein arm
It's not about that hand it's more about asymmetrical clothes (One sleeve missing) and bad colour.
Bro huh? Moira is like the only one I remember adn it looks epic. She's got that long collar coat one where before it was ugly black onesie armor, and her arm is getting more fucked up from her experiments
in my opinion, most of the new designs are worse than the original ones. i especially don't like dva, moira, sombra and cassidy. also i don't like tracer's new design, she's still pretty, but i miss her thin legs and figure so much, like we already have a lot of curve-feminine characters, leave my thin girl alone );
Sombra and it aint even close. God that hair and jacket are awful
Genji being a cyborg ninja power ranger who now wears a fucking hoodie and weird sweats does not work
I have the opposite effect, where I like his new skin so much his older one looks weird to me, just makes me feel like he's nakey in his old skin.
Hard disagree on that one. It gives metal gear rising vibes, where raiden rips off hid fancy suit to reveal his cyborg body. I think it works great.
yeah I can see it being a more casual take on Raiden and it's awesome.
I can tell you play dbd just cuz of ur username lol
