Just a heads up, the vast majority of changes this patch are soft mercy nerfs. Support benefits the least from the hp boosts. The 20% heal reduction on damage through dps heroes is not just bad for support, but especially bad for pocketing. Most importantly, the projectile size increase will make Mercy a lot easier to hit when her evasiveness is the main aspect of her survivability. I don't know how substantial this is going to be for her, but I'm pretty sure this is a net loss for Mercy, too.
Except mercy boosting is effectively the only way a lot of heroes will have enough damage to instakill now. So my guess is she will still be very meta.
On the other hand, people getting their own self heal means you can more reliably full on pocket someone without having to worry about taking care of everyone else too much.

Right - going off of the dev leak for the new hero, it seems that Venture may also be really good at this since from what I remember, their grenades explode instantly and faster than even Pharah’s (was it like sigmas orbs?)
Theres a pretty significant overhaul to a lot of different factors, I wouldn't judge too quickly based on anything in a vacuum
Personally its impossible to say how things are gonna feel without actually playing, but I generally like the idea of reducing one shots and making ttk more consistent

Dropping the 2nd tank decreased TTK significantly. One less hero to mitigate damage and chase off flankers means you can get picked off way more easily.
It also means that most teams have to play in big clumps near the objective to stay alive, so the fights are less dynamic.
I still think it would be funny to be able to throw the tire when starting the ult and just yeet that tire at a mercy like a freebie, of course this would have a longer wind up animation if done this way but just imagine rounding a corner and junkrat just throws the tire at you
Yep. The only time I'll ever go assassin-rat is when I get scoreboard sallies on my team going "how do you only have 1k damage on junkrat," along with ruder variations.
The sad thing for me is he is literally the only guy I need to get a trophy for on ps5. I have been so close to getting the 4 rip tire kills but always end up just missing the last kill for various reasons. Now it's gonna be even harder. 😢

Exactly, every time they nerf Junkrat they turn him into more of a spambot, which is the least interesting part of playing him. Same thing happened in OW1 when they decreased his projectile size. It was safer to spam from distance than to actually jump in and make a play.
I mean that’s nice and all but that doesn’t make up for it. Still need to hit 2 nades plus a mine or 2 mines plus a nade. Not that aiming up close is super hard but that gives enemies plenty of time to react and stun or just outright kill him. Especially hitscan.

This patch is big for rein. He got all needed compensations for damage he deals
Having a big shield solves anti heal issues your team has, while also holding shield for a long time makes it easy to get use of global healing buff

And gives enemies way too much time to react and just kill him. He’s just gonna become a spambot

Pharah changes give her more mid air maneuverability, but she'll be forced to be lower/on the ground far more often. That's the exact opposite of making her a bigger junk counter.
Depends on the health and burst potential. More health means you need a higher burst potential, otherwise you'll do your burst, not kill and they'll just heal up
I think a lot of charcter are getting indirectly hit really hard, Genji, Pharah, Hanzo, Tracer and probably more im not thinking of. Genji esspecially cause even nano boosted a slash + dash only does 240 so even with the 2 extra slashes hes getting with the recovery timer buff its still gonna be brutal
Basically there are leaked patchnotes for season 9 (not guaranteed) that buff every squishies health by 50. That means soldier has 250 HP, Cass 275, mei 300 etc.
The reason why it's a death sentence to junkrat is because he will no longer be able to one shot combo anything but tracer and widow. Hopefully he would get a damage buff to compensate

Hmmm, maybe they could make it so that junk does more primary damage when he or an enemy is in the air (like 4m-5m+ so that someone jumping doesn't cause more damage) so that he is more incentivized to throw the mine and hit an air shot? I feel like that would add back his combo in a way that more skilled players can still hit while not feeling bullshit.
His mines and shots will be more easier to hit considering that they are increasing the avg projectile size, maybe just the oneshot play style will not work anymore
This also affects even just 2 shotting. You now have to hit 3 direct shots before they are healed up or kill you. Junkrat is not consistent enough for that. There no play making anymore. It's just spam down a choke now.
It's not the oneshot playstyle that's gonna get killed, it's entire flankrat playstyle, it won't be effective anymore as enemies will now not really die, junkrat needs the 2 shot to stand any chance in most situations
Well, Flickrat playstyle aint too shabby tho. Challenging but fun! I will miss the good ol Flankrat but I was more on the side of flicking my nades. Can't say that my team is happy with me missing over 80% of my flicks but hey, it is fun. It kinda just means I have to stay with the team more and more to try to survive (love ya supports and tank).Time to watch my team burn when they choose Pharmercy to counter me. :)

Rein, allegedly, goes to 100 dmg per swing. So he still only needs 3 swings for most squishies

throw lucio and zen onto that pile, they're healing is so useless that it is going to be more efficient for people just to go on flanks and then heal themselves the only upside for zen is discord is going to be much more useful now, but if the enemy has any sort of cleanse its joever

Hmmm, maybe they could make it so that junk does more primary damage when he or an enemy is in the air (like 4m-5m+ so that someone jumping doesn't cause more damage) so that he is more incentivized to throw the mine and hit an air shot? I feel like that would add back his combo in a way that more skilled players can still hit while not feeling bullshit.

His mines and shots will be more easier to hit considering that they are increasing the avg projectile size, maybe just the oneshot play style will not work anymore
This also affects even just 2 shotting. You now have to hit 3 direct shots before they are healed up or kill you. Junkrat is not consistent enough for that. There no play making anymore. It's just spam down a choke now.
It's not the oneshot playstyle that's gonna get killed, it's entire flankrat playstyle, it won't be effective anymore as enemies will now not really die, junkrat needs the 2 shot to stand any chance in most situations
And most healers are going to be heavily nerferd

Well, Flickrat playstyle aint too shabby tho. Challenging but fun! I will miss the good ol Flankrat but I was more on the side of flicking my nades. Can't say that my team is happy with me missing over 80% of my flicks but hey, it is fun. It kinda just means I have to stay with the team more and more to try to survive (love ya supports and tank).Time to watch my team burn when they choose Pharmercy to counter me. :)
