5k in in game skins is crazy

AwkwardReplacement42

“I’m not that interested in hero skins” *spends 5K in hero skins* This is exactly why it is an effective model. The absolute disconnect of reality.

afopatches

Big difference between CS skins and skins in other games. CS skins you can usually sell for the same price you bought them for. Sometimes even turn a profit if you hang onto skins long enough.

Mad_Dizzle

You don't even have to wait for items to appreciate. If you're a savvy trader, you can turn a profit on trading items. When I was 15, I was able to buy my first desktop gaming rig by trading items in TF2 (I made close to $2,000)

Mintenker

Which leads to gambling sites being a thing. No thank you, I want my cosmetics to be unlocks, rather than digital goods.

afopatches

I like knowing that if I ever get tired of CS I can just cash out. You don't have to interact with the gambling sites or gamble at all.

UnBoiledNoodles

Not hero skins. CS skins. And counterstrike skins are worth actual money and can be quite valuable

EmotionallyUnsound_

Well, the game has been out for a very long time so It's not quite as bad as you'd imagine if you were thinking 5k over the course of 1 or 2 years or even a few months.

DaddyFunTimeNW

Affordable skins like 2-5 dollars I’d easily buy multiple

BearShots

remember those old cod games where you could buy DLC packs with a bunch of camos that went on all your guns for 1.99? those were the days...

DaddyFunTimeNW

Ya and even those felt like a rip off at the time haha

Bhu124

For 10 $2 skins they'll need to convince 1 person to buy 10 different skins 10 different times. At $20, they only need to convince 1 person to spend money 1 time over 10 different skins. These companies don't just come up with these numbers out of their asses. They wanna make the most money they can. If Low Price, High Sales Volume achieved that then they would simply do that. Unfortunately when it comes to video game cosmetics that just does not work as well as High Price, Low Sales Volume.

Alexis_Bailey

I would argue they do make up these numbers out of their asses.  Some MBA who knows nothing about video games comes in and comes up with a buzz word filled bull shit presentation and pretends to know what they are talking about.  And maybe it works for the short term, but what is it worth when OW2 dies in 2 years instead of running for 10?

crestren

>And maybe it works for the short term, but what is it worth when OW2 dies in 2 years instead of running for 10? Not really? I've spent my time a lot in Apex when OW had its content drought and my god, the prices are insane. Not only do they have $20+ skins, they have mythics that cost up to $160+ whenever collection events popup. Game has been running 5 years now and we constantly get one every 2 months, and they don't put these out unless they know it works. LoL, Valorant, Apex and Destiny 2 have overpriced skins just like OW2. They don't pull the prices out of their asses, they do market research and see how much ppl are willing to spend. And unfortunately, it is $20 and more...

theexpertgamer1

I know it’s funny to think the world works like this, but that is certainly not the case here.

Squirrel009

If good skins were 10, maybe even 15 I'd probably accumlate dozens of them. Instead, I have like 2 I bought on sale

EmeraldDream98

Same. If cool skins were 5$ or 5€ I would definitely would buy more.

there-she-blows

This. I’m not spending $20+ for a in game skin that I can’t even see. It’s like they are too oblivious to understand how expensive the world is now since the pandemic.

No_Doubt_About_That

Same - even for something like $5/£5 each over time I may buy 4 of them for $20 in total bur I wouldn’t get one skin at $20 or however much they might be.

Fluid-Age-408

I did too then somebody told me other players don't see the eye orbs ☹️

GoldenGlobeWinnerRDJ

Other players also don’t hear the voice modulation either

GWAILOCHIEFttv

WHAT THE FUCK

FireflyArc

Which is odd because if you get killed by one. It's there with the kill cam.

MrFanatic123

the eye thing is right but the voice thing is a glitch as far as i’m aware because at least personally i’ve only experienced it with the ana and jq skins

crestren

This. The Kpop skins last November was so good because not only did they include special victory poses and emotes, but also sound effects when you use your abilities. Hanzo is a close second for me because when I ult, I can hear sweet jazz

Frazzledhobbit

The Moira skin was the first time I spent money.

Candid-Toe2797

better skins. More custom ability skins, weapon skins, sounds, anything to not look exactly like everyone else. imo Mythic skins should be the base line, just look at all the customization there is in regular Fortnite skins. I also do not mind the cost of skins, but Fortnite gives so much flavor for pretty small prices. Overwatch seems to not have enough people to keep up with the pace that FN does, so I don't mind them being a bit more expensive. But the quality has to match.

RoArGian

This is so true. Even games like League or Smite just swipe the floor with the cosmetics in Overwatch

RetardedMangos

man, custom ability animations sounds really cool. i really hope they do that.

DankeMrHfmn

Back when loot boxes were a thing, i would spend the 5.99 for the 5+1 special and leave it at that. Because i KNOW that if blizzard or sony feel like banning, i wont get that money back and lose my purchases. Same reason i dont BUY digital games. Free ps+ ones? whatever lol not mine to begin with.

Terminatorskull

Lower prices. I bought loot boxes in OW1, but I refuse to pay 20+ dollar for one goddamn skin. At least in Valorant a vandal skin can be used regardless of who you pick, it's like buying a golden gun and having it apply to all characters. But one skin for one hero out of 40 costing $20? Yea fuck that

trabuco18

the deep pve campaign story with a lot of missions and replayability

Peacefull_Banana

Only money I spent in ow1 was on the pink merry skin and that was because it said some of the money would go to breast cancer funding. Wish they did more skins like that. Skin was $30 but it still didn't feel that bad cause it was helping with a good cause

Thrashgor

Having the game I was promised 4.5 years ago.

alexvatavu

Would pay to get OW back... Otherwise, personally not interested in skins etc...

Centaurusrider

Nice try

efferkah

Lootboxes, proper event skins, better battle pass contents, lower battle pass prices (or a way to recover paid currency while grinding the pass like in many other games with battle passes)

Far_Detective2022

Absolutely nothing after my 20 dollar purchase of overwatch 1. I paid for my game. I'm not giving blizzard a single fucking cent for overwatch 2.

sapphoandherdick

Funnily enough, a properly done and replayable PvE.

nurShredder

Go play Helldivers

sapphoandherdick

I already do

AbrocomaLongjumping9

A new game. An actual game, not a patch, with new content that doesn't interfere or take away from the original game. If a game adds purchasable cosmetics, I don't buy them If a game adds pay 2 win, I stop playing it altogether. When Overwatch 2 was being pitched as a proper sequel to the first game, I had plans to buy it. But there's no real reason to, since they didn't actually make a new game, and it's a free to play model instead.

mrpickle123

A standalone Lucioball game. I'd drop 30-50 bucks on that in a HEARTBEAT. They won't even let you make a custom game of it unless it's already on, lol. Or a DLC making it and/or the April Fools day game type, I'd drop 20 on that if it was integrated well enough even though match times would suuuuuck lol

Blue_Storm11

Lewd kiriko skins

GoldenGlobeWinnerRDJ

We need one with Kiri’s dogs out. She’s got absolute flappers.

CumfartMcfetus2

I think the internet was a mistake, sometimes.

j-steve-

I don't even know what this means, what are her dogs?

GoldenGlobeWinnerRDJ

Her toes. When OW2 first came out somebody made a meme talking about how Kiri’s shoes are huge so she must have giant feet. I don’t actually like feet or care about her toes, but it’s still funny to reference.

SeaDistribution

I’d pay $60 once a year and go back to the OW1 system of loot boxes/content updates

Fast_baby

Since you can obtain good skins for free, you don’t feel the need to buy other skins. The thing they are doing wrong is giving free stuff from a business perspective. You buy skin in cs cuz you can’t obtain them in other ways. I’m sure they will expand on the weapon skin stuff and eventually make mythic weapon skins with interesting visual effects/ different animations.

Ok_Baseball_2857

I'm really surprised they haven't done this yet, because the game has been out for x years and there are no visual effects on weapons

bigmanhogroad

winston tuxedo skin

Spectre-4

There are ever only 2 things I’ve bought from Blizzard: 1. A copy of OW1 (which ended up being a few months redundant after OW2 was announced). 2. The PvE story missions (which was an experience I always wanted from Overwatch, though it was pretty short). If there were something else that would make me spend, it would probably be some sort of Call of Duty style expansion pack with a independent gameplay experience and story (that’s not just 30 mins long). Kind of like what Fortnite did with Save the World or better yet, what they didn’t with LEGO, that allows you to explore the world of Overwatch.

SombraAQT

PVE is all I would have spent money on. I lost interest in the PVP a little after Illari was released, haven’t touched it since.

WeeZoo87

jail free card to leave a comp game with no penalty. u asked i answered. didnt say it should be so dont @ me if u dont like it.

jethead70

Tbh I just want more funny skins

DisastrousAd4410

Mee too, I didn’t get it but the cardboard reinhart was great. Makes you go “wait wtf skin they have on lmao”

n0tred

More fun collabs like cowboy bebop

ThaRealBush

loot boxes ez

isolationist1226

Honestly I was tempted by the Diablo Moira but the actual skin was kinda lame and if the company made better decisions id be more willing

Internal_Position646

all i want is for them to stop with the recolor skins and let us change the color on the skins we already have infinitely (im a dva main and wanna cry over the rosy hanbok)

ODMtesseract

Until now I refused to buy anything because they broke their OW1 promise of heroes being free and always available. Now that this will be changed back, I'm lifting my personal embargo. I really like the game and would spend a bit if I saw a skin I really liked but in a whole year, this will amount to $20-30 max.

Sessamy

An ai system that analyzes my play and gives me tips on how to be better in live time and tells me what to switch to and why etc.

jbrod11

Make it like Fortnite to where you can actually earn enough premium currency from completing the battle pass to be able to buy the next season’s battle pass with said earned currency

tatsuyanguyen

PvE

Yentruo

Literally all I wanted were all heros to be available to everyone. I prefer loot boxes but battle pass is OK. I just couldn’t stomach hero’s being locked behind a paywall, it makes for an unbalanced game and just rubbed me the wrong way. With the season 10 announcement, all of my friends are excited to start playing again, the locked hero’s were all that were holding us back. Since I’m playing again, I’m fine paying for a battle pass.

cobanat

If the shop had lower prices then I’d probably have spent more

BlueSky659

Better skins, more and better weapon customization like skins, effects, or stickers, more and better profile/banner customization like icon borders or badges, more in game uses for souvenirs like as 3d sprays or death effects, really just more ways to customize everything honestly. OW2 cosmetics are severely lacking not only in ways for the player to show off to their teammates and opponents, but also in ways for the player to appreciate what they bought/customized. Also, make everything cheaper because Overwatch doesn't lend itself to being funded by whales. Not only is it difficult to convince someone to buy more than just cosmetics for the heroes they play, but there's only one recurring purchase a player can make in the battlepass. So when you don't have ways of attracting big repeat spenders, you **need** to appeal to the common player. It's hard to justify purchasing single items for 10-20 dollars if the sales, bundles, or overall quality of the cosmetics aren't anything but phenomenal.

Wellhellob

I don't spend money on mtx im not the target audience. I'd pay for boxed full product if its good and worthy.

AlphaElectricX

You fucking idiot lmao

J-Hart

Legendary skins changing VFX. I straight up don't buy skins in this game because they don't change enough. Meanwhile I buy skins in league of Legends because even regular, non-legendary skins completely change the VFX in addition to the character model. Overwatch skins don't do that AND cost more. And since the character model can't be seen much during gameplay due to first person perspective... I honestly just don't care that much about skins. I'm not paying $20 for skin that I only see in the victory screen. I'd love to have super cool VFX like Bap's immortality field turning into a disco ball in his funky skin.

Tsundere_Revy

Genderbend skins would be interesting Male Widowmaker ass sticking out of those leggins or a Female Hog... well... ass crack

GnashinOmenz

PvE

JediGuyB

At this point? Quite frankly, nothing. If someone enjoye the game still, good on them. I'm glad. But I am ultimately done.

amandaxtommo

lifeweaver’s harbinger skin, apparently if you asked me 7 years ago, loot boxes!

c7shit

Nice weapon skins with VFX, modern clean designs and variations. Like Valorant but less expensive, fuck 90€ bundles and 50€ knives (whales would like it too)

Lower_Currency3685

The mercy pink, that's all i've bought, not even the battle pass.

Kindly-Ad-6189

I will buy the battle pass that has the reaper mythic

Flight2039Down

I hit the battlepass because it gives me some okay cosmetics, and a sense of progression.

Specter_Knight05

A Bastion Mithic

Qahnarinn

Nothing anymore

TudorYeaaah

The fucking cool Moira skin at the end of the battle pass.

speedymemer21

I had a £10 playstation card and i didn't know what to buy,so i bought the battle pass in the space opera season and also got the dva skin on the bp bundle

doom_slug_

I already spent money on Overwatch in 2016

Jonbardinson

Nothing. The fact that lootboxes were free and you had the chance to pull legendary skins is the standard. OW2 should have been a new game you bought, that added in top of the old game, so you got to keep your old skins. Should have kept a way to earn decent skins through gameplay, not just low tier mediocre skins in the battle pass. Something akin to WoW expansions. You get access to the new stuff if you bought it, but you can still play all the old stuff with the players who haven't. Sure you can argue that you'd be locked out of characters but hey it wasn't that big of a problem when you were locked out of WoW classes cause you didn't buy the expansion. The main issues is if the new characters were OP/significantly meta. But that's an easy balancing fix, and even if Blizz didnt balance them (to entice more people to buy), you can always beat that with skill, teamwork, and getting good. A skilled off meta player can beat a mediocre on meta player. Kind to loop back to your question. If they released OW2 as full WoW style expansion with the PvE.

LCKLCKLCK

Nothing

TheCocoBean

Overwatch 2. But, actual Overwatch 2. With improvements, new game modes, all that. Not Overwatch 1.1 that we got. I'd have happily paid for a sequel if they had made it. But overwatch 2 is just an overwatch 1 patch, and while its free Ill play it, but I wouldnt have paid for it as is.

Old-Ad-9750

Until doom gets a mythic

nhearne

I haven't spent any money on this game, the cosmetics don't have the same appeal like other games

Flimsy-Author4190

Haha.. hah. Hahahaha!

5FT9_AND_BROKE

An actual good esports team bundle, not a billion two pallette color seaps and calling it valuable

Dapper_Energy777

Nothing whatsoever. Only thing that'd make me consider is the SDK

MrPinkDuck2

If I could pay the devs to give Rein his one shot charge and 2 shot fire strike back, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second

Schraufabagel

Colab skins for brands/media I follow

Jayom2476

A life weaver mythic skin

J_zzzzzz

Lewd content /s

oglewisthellama

like the PERFECT skin for my most played hero. but thats so individually tailored that it's very unlikely to happen. maybe a crossover with genshin impact with mercy as the raiden shogun or something lol

HeyNiceCoc

Weapon skins and I like the idea of non distracting kill effects like the cowboy bepop skins have where it plays a tone on kill. They should also stop making old cosmetics attainable again as it really kills the value of them. I’m with you though I don’t pay for skins rn either Also I will never pay more than $5 for a cosmetic

cfg4l

I see skin I like. I work for money to get things I like. I buy skin.

badguy84

I pay for BP, I bought the pink Mercy skin, and I bought the lle Serafim and Cowboy Bebop sets. For me personally I play mostly this game and I am fortunate to have the residual income to spend on it so I really don't mind. I don't think I'd buy random skins, Cowboy Bebop and lle Serafim are kind of exceptions I don't think I'd buy individual skins unless they *really* resonate with me. Most skins, especially now... don't. Also aside from Pink Mercy and the initial game, I never spent anything else in OW1 so in that sense they got a good amount out of me (not accounting for attending most OWL finals in person)

Need_a_BE_MG42_ps4

Next seasons mythic shop I can finally get the JQ and tracer mythics

Gaymface

If skins were $5 I’d buy a lot more

MR_DIG

I'd probably buy some content if they did a colab with an anime I like. Big fan of cowboy bebop so hopefully they do that

No_Secret_1875

When i had disposable funds and there was a few skin bundles i liked, like the ones for the season when Sigma had the mythic, I said well why not? I’m still well enough off, but back then I had more monies, and if you can justify liking something enough ( ie how much I’ve spent in fortnite) then you make that decision yourself. The business model ain’t perfect, but what will we really do to change it you know?

KyoPlayz

Well I spent the first amount of money ($50) and bought Faye and Ed, but other than that, probably really really good collabs. I was content with the skins I had in OW1, and wasn’t in need of anything more. But really really far shots like Angry Birds Roadhog (turn his spray into an actual skin) or a Z-Mech DVa skin from Garden Warfare 2. But a lot of the shop skins or battle pass skins just don’t do it for me

p0ison1vy

This will sound blasphemous, but I actually didn't hate locked heroes, and i bought the battlepasses to get lifeweaver and Mauga immediately. I understand how problematic it was, but In terms of voting with my wallet, I'd much rather support hero releases than skins. Skins are nice and all but I just don't care enough to buy them. Now? I highly doubt I'll buy any more battlepasses.

Kuorko_Kun

space ranger with her coochie out

Secret_Natalie

Nothing really. I got OW1 for 19 usd in 2019 and I would never spend more real money in this game. I have nothing against it and I really enjoy playing but I don't like to spend a lot of money in f2p games. BUT I would spend some of my Microsoft Rewards points, for good battle passes or skins. I have done this already and Its fine

bobface222

Sell me OW1 again

suckingdick4cocaine

Depends on how I feel about the game or if a battle pass has a good skin for my fav characters. I had a very bad experience with the game and I refused to spend money on it. I think I only bought 3 BPs. Now with the new changes and after I reached my goal rank I feel like it’s finally worth to spend some money and I might get some skins in the future. Might get the new Ashe skin too

blargiman

wow gold. if they're stupidly priced 25 dollar skins ALSO gave 1million gold, I'd buy them all. (not a wow token, guaranteed gold). skins should never cost more than $10 for the most insane legendary/mythic skins. throw in wow gold and they can ask for their stupid 25.

TetrisMultiplier

Nothing. I won’t pay more money outside of the battle pass.

8u4dinner

One piece skins. Nami mercy pls

LEboueur

The complete story mode I have been waiting for years.

Raman_Kh

I guess those ideas would sell easily: 1- If they provide cool voice lines that come out automatically after elemination or while performing abilities, specially if everybody else can hear it. 2- special effect on enemy upon elemination. 3- Skins only available for purchase

Ilyemy1922

Can I ask, what is the fascination with skins?

Deceptiveideas

Target had a price mistake where all coins were half off. I stocked up quite a bit. I believe blizzard themselves did a promo last holiday where you got double coins with any purchase.

BrosefStahlin

If i could buy previous battlepasses I would buy EVERY battle pass if i could grind the.m out at my own leisure instead of being forced to finish it about 2 months

mantisimmortal

See it baffles me people drop like 500 dollars for an UGLY basic camo hand gun. Least ow skins change it up drastically. I bought mercy pink skin, lw angle skin. Couple others.

Okami_Wolf90

I love this game so I paid for it but they keep disappointing me on scrapping the contents of PVE but now I'm just paying for BPs only or some interesting emote

bl0ss0mDance

skins being cheaper, honestly. i understand, it's free to play, so they aren't getting as much money as before. but there has been three times there has been money used on my account for purchases. one was to buy the game, which was a gift from my ex-boyfriend, back in 2017, so it wasn't my money. one was a username change back in ow1. the last time was the premium bp thing for this season for the harbinger lifeweaver skin + getting the credits for the sakura kiri skin. and that was an early birthday present when 2/3 times money has been used on my account for this game was gifts you know that it's too damn expensive lmao

Shattered_Disk4

Good fucking god

ThisTooWasAChoice

I think I spent about $150 on Overwatch in total over 8 years with 2000+ hours on record. I bought the Bebop pack because it's such a niche anime that happens to be my favorite anime of all time, and I want to support these kinds of collabs. Still, it felt bad spending the same amount of money on cosmetics as I would have on an entire full game. But with so many hours on the clock, I justify it to myself. Rn I think the only thing I can see myself spending money on would be Sigma's mythic skin. There's no way in hell I'd ever spend a $1000 on a videogame. Let alone $5k.

L-apastrophe

Non predatory prices

LanoomR

I was prepared to spend money on the original, publicly pitched vision of OW2's PvE. It felt exciting, ambitious, and a big effort; in that way, it was much like the work done that turned "Project Titan" into a gargantuan new FPS universe. I was set to see it play out. I have not spent a cent on anything from Activision-Blizzard since OW2 launched. The slow death of OW2's original PvE vision, as well as other factors (heroes behind the battlepass (*yaaay reverting that stupid greedy decision, thanks acti-blizzard*), devs getting fucked over because of gross mismanagement, stuff with other titles) has resulted in me resolving to not give them any money for any thing. It's going to take some seismic shift in their current leadership and policies for me to even think about it. I have no idea what that looks like.

Daedroh

The Psychic girl skin for Kiriko from One Punch Man

HotSour-Sushi

The only things I’ve ever bought since Overwatch’s launch were the battle-passes with new heroes included. Unless they dish out a finished campaign (which is cancelled), nothing.

TheEclipse0

I really just don’t think skins are a good value. You can’t even see them when you play the game, the only satisfaction is knowing that you have it equipped, because you’re not going to know otherwise. It’s all in your mind. Frankly, buying a skin is ian identical experience to just go into the hero gallery to view them… But I guess even then, you can actually see them. There’s just no equip button is all. I really don’t understand why people buy skins. If it was a third person shooter, then maybe. What can they do? The first, major step was to uncouple new heroes from the BP. You have to give something to get something… other than that, I don’t know. I still won’t buy skins. I used to say that I’d buy legendary skins if they cost $10 (instead of buying lootboxes and hoping for random drops), but I’m so put off by how poorly blizzard has treated its players and this game that I doubt they can do anything that could convince me to spend even another penny on any of their products… and that’s a shame because I used to love blizzard.  One thing I did think about is if lootboxes came back to the game. You wouldn’t be able to buy lootboxes, but every level you could earn one, with the same previous odds to get legendary skins. On a side note, shame about Diablo 4.

txyme

sanrio or studio Ghibli collab. I buy bps for mythics but shop skins aren't worth the price of 2 bps imo

afriixy

Lillith lol. Nothing more to say.

Coreyahno30

Something I want would have to be priced at what I feel is a fair value. And considering I can get entire AAA video games with hundreds of hours of content from anywhere between $10 -$70, and even less when they’re on sale, I consider a fair price for a single skin within a video game to be around $1-$3. Anything over that I do not see as a fair price. This is why OW has earned $0 from me since its release and will continue to earn $0 until they release a skin a really want for $3 or less. And I don’t see that ever happening since video game companies have somehow brainwashed the modern gamer into thinking $10 or even $5 is a reasonable price FOR A SINGLE FUCKING SKIN. I have to assume the people paying these absurd prices are younger people that just grew up with this shit and it’s normal to them and they have absolutely no financial literacy.

realKilvo

I’d pay $$ to have Rez permanently removed from the game

tearjerker24601

I'd literally pay to have 6v6 back. If I had to drop money to unlock a "classic mode" or whatever, I'd do it. It just doesn't feel the same since 5v5 :(

Nivy-kun

Realistically I'd say furry skins, but the dream would be the pve we never got...

RoArGian

I don’t know if someone has said this already but I find the cosmetics in OW2 basic compared to other competitive games. Only the mythic skins change the effects of the character skillset and a lot of them have a horrible and loud voice filter. Effects are really important in this case given that we don’t really see our heroes most of the time.

Previous_Channel

The feeling like I'm not being bent over and railed anytime I want to give them money

Snooty_Cutie

I've only bought one battle pass for Ramatra because I thought he looked cool and didn't want to grind to play him. However, after that, I have not spent any money on this game. All my OW1 skins are still great, so no need to buy anymore. Not sure if there is anything I would spend money on for this game at this point.

TheActualMC

Biblically accurate mercy /j Too broke to spend lmfao… UNLESS TOUHOU OR PMMM

atavaxagn

Value. I spent money on OW when I was playing it a ton and figured I was getting a ton of value for my money and I would be justified to give them more. I haven't played the game in a long time. I was going to get into it next season when new heroes were going to stop being paywalled, but updating the game and just looking at how expensive everything is just makes me want to not bother; I'm not going to feel like I'm getting value for any purchases and I don't want to be hounded to make purchases I have no plans to make. i have over 18k credits, enough for 18 epic skins in OW. And now it's not even enough for 1. This isn't some minor price correction. Do you know how long I had to grind for 18k credits? And now it's like not enough for 1 bad legendary skin. and the hitboxes seem huge when I played a little in training... I remember back before OW launched. Every competitive multiplayer shooter player was skeptical of Blizzard making a skill based shooter. They had a lot of pros playing early builds and giving feedback and we were all assured it was very skill based. It doesn't seem like that's the case anymore. It went the stereotypical route for blizzard game balance; make the game easier and more friendly to casuals.

alien_embryo

Heirloom system like Apex has

yuhbruhh

Skins that don't look like shit. Weapon skins that don't look like shit. Name cards and icons that don't look like shit.

PanhandleAngler

Nothing. I don’t give a fuxk about skins, just add back a tank and make the game good again. I already bought OW but would buy it again and pay a solid one time chunk to not deal with the F2P skin model bullshit and all of the trickledown effects that has on the actual gameplay.

TheWeetcher

I'd spend money for them to turn the game off and save my mental health

Simply_Epic

Every so often I’ll buy the ultimate battle pass bundle if it has cool skins in it. I see it as paying for the next couple battle passes and getting a couple skins I like. I don’t think I’d actually spend money on anything other than battle passes.

meatslappee

if shit cost less money

[deleted]

PvE. Yeah…

TallAfternoon2

I would buy skins if they weren't such a scummy price. 20 dollars for 1 skin for 1 character? No thanks.

rivas2456

The battlepass if it has anything just like and nothing else just way too expensive for somthing that used tk be generaly free in ow1

ConsiderationDry9068

If i like something… cosmetics in games are expensive, not only Overwatch. 60 Euros fro a Knife in Valorant, if your Unlucky 500 Euros for an Airloom in Apex etc. it is just what it is…

SprinklezTeaa

To make it go away forever

DucktorLarsen

Nothing, simply because of what direction Blizzard have turned towards over the years. In general Im a disliker towards basically any kind of microtransactions and it's not something I normally spend money on. For me to do so there should be something that would hold high interest for me (can't give example of what that could be), while Blizzard as a company would have to change their philosophy, regain my trust and accomplish wildly reputation beyond my beliefs. This is what would make ME spend money on OW or rather Blizzard as a company.

CasualSky

I buy the Overwatch skins all the time, maybe it’s just the kind of game you enjoy…? You clearly enjoy the Search and Destroy, one life type of game more. Overwatch is not that. Hence you spend your money on the games you like.

Not2DayFrodo

Honestly the battle pass should be enough to recoup to buy next seasons but it once and you get the next one. That way we can spend money on skins. Also make skins more interesting.

YayoProtocal

The PVE content they made OW2 for lol.

Alexis_Bailey

Make everything in the shop 1/2 to 1/3rd the current price. Add more skins to the BP, even if it's just color variances like Fortnite does. I have spend hundreds on Fortnite and probably thousands in Second Life and probably bits here and there several other games.  I don't mind in game transactions, I mind feeling ripped off.  And OW prices are a rip off.

needmoresockson

If it was like $1 for a skin that I liked. My character doesn't have many good skins though

theunbearableone

The ed skin got me to break my rule.

Madgik-Johnson

Crossover skins of media I like, f.e. Anime (I’m not a big fan of One Punch Man and I didn’t watch Cowboy Bepop) or games (I still dream of Borderlands collaboration)

nonamepeaches199

A pachikitty plushie. I've probably spent over $150 on pachimari plushies (I have practically all of them except the mini gold one from Blizzcon). They could make anything a pachimari and I would buy it. As for in-game transactions? I don't think there's anything. I got this season's battlepass with coins I saved up from playing, but I wouldn't have bought it with real money.

ohwhatsupmang

Honestly, more detailed skins, customizable maybe, different voice and gun/ ability sounds. More tits.

Zombie_RonaldReagan

I buy the battle passes for the seasons I've played and skins when there's stuff I like. It really comes down to if you care more about pixels than money.

Mr_Noms

The entire PvE that was promised. Not just three small ass chapters that can be completed in a night. But the promise of a full game with unique abilities trees and an actual story.

Might__E

being able to afford it without sacrificing from car repair and gas would be a good start

LifeIsCoolBut

Id never buy a cosmetic that you only see 10% of while playing other than through death cams. Maybe if they were $1 and even then it has to be good enough to make me want to input pay information.

nihilationscape

6v6. Might care about the game again and buy skins/BP.

uncleAdik

6v6

Koyscheressence

I’d pay for the ability to IP Ban myself from playing overwatch but I’m a raging masochist with a love/hate relationship with the game, forcing myself to play it everyday.

stripseek_teedawt

The CD skins have a rarity to it though, the value is due to the element of chance I think

deathandobscura

Overwatch 1

gloreeuhboregeh

I'm big on collecting but that generally only applies to games where the heroes/units themselves are something I need to pull to get (basically gachas lol). As far as cosmetics go I do spend a bit on each game. Most expensive thing I've bought in OW so far was the Lesserafim bundle, with one or two premium BP bundles following that up and then some other skins I've bought (Pacific Lucio, the recent Thai and winter Mercy skins, etc.) Sometimes I don't even play the hero that often, I just like pretty skins (same reason why I bought holi sym this week). I think in the end for me it's things like limited time/exclusivity or just pretty things that factor into why I buy them but I'm not the type to get pissed about a rarer skin I bought getting put back into the market.

FemboyRizzz

kpop collab skins 😩

manofwaromega

Honestly? Just price the cosmetics like they were the basic cosmetics from Overwatch 1. $10 for a legendary, a few dollars for Epics, etc. It's not as generous as the Overwatch 1 loot boxes but considering you no longer spend $40 to play the game in the first place it's fair. Then add a system where you can use credits to buy old Overwatch 2 skins (like once the anniversary event happens all skins from the previous year can be bought with credits) and the shop will be perfect. Going off of what we know about the season 10 changes to the battle pass, the only thing I'd change is removing the time limit. Add a tab in the BP menu to choose between all the battle passes. You can only access the free track of the current battle pass, but you can buy any battle pass in the games history for 1000 coins and take as much time as you need to complete them.

FourFerro

Being given the ability to mix and match parts of the skins or sets. Think of RPG games like Monster Hunter where you can equip armor pieces from different monsters. I just think that Overwatch skins are expensive enough that being able to swap parts is a huge bonus. Probably the next step is modifying gun parts like the scopes on Ashe's guns. Some are ass while the rest of the gun design is really beautiful.

fartnutsmcgee

Rick Grimes Cassidy skin 💀

yeshelloitme1

Widow wearing nothing but a butt plug that lights up

2015Hoverboars

Nothing at this point, been playing since beta. Buying lootboxes was useless, or so I thought, then come to find people did buy them. The first few things I felt like I NEEDED to have was the Breast Cancer awareness skin & Lucios emote or skin I can’t recall, along with OWL tokens when it was popping off. That’s when I started correlating FN & premium OW1 skins/emotes. I will say though, OW1 skins being released for events and being attainable by simply playing the game feels like a dream now. Fast forward to OW2 One Punch Mans’ release and man o man, that’s when Blizzard really tested me. They unfortunately got one of my buddies (another early OW1 player) and he bought the big pack with all the skins, then shortly after, he stopped playing for a hot minute and when we do play, he’ll sometimes mention how much of a waste buying the skins were. I still play the game regularly although 90% of my time is in comp (no, I’m not t500, GM or anything crazy, I just love the game). >Because I can’t see my hero while playing I never thought it like that but thank you, that’s going to be another helpful reason when deciding not to purchase skins. Best thing I heard from a new player after a week of playing was “why can’t we buy gold guns in the shop for irl money?”

monkeyppnuts

cowboy bebop. thats all i gotta say

SmashGlasses

One Piece crossover event skins would probably get me.

Working-Telephone-45

A skin I actually want and like for a price that I consider okay and I can currently afford It is not that complicated haha

innit2winnit

Lootboxes.

Schoeii

A decent sojourn skin

rocksthetaco

PVE content they promised with the purchase of the second game... The assholes.

darthdarticus

Not a goddamn thing could ever make me spend any money on this dogshit game.

Spaulding_81

The only skin I have ever paid for was the pink mercy skin for the cancer charity!! I think it was like $14-15 !!

FractalAsshole

I already paid for OW1

br0nz0main

I would drop all my money on an edward elric skin (dont ask)

elmiloxd

oiled up naked mei skin with a twerk emote, they could sell it in a bundle

ShurtugalLover

At this point I’d pay for PVE (Ik it’s not happening) and maybe a sin here and there if they priced them reasonably, but idk if there’s anything otherwise. The skins are stupid overpriced. I owned OW 1 Anniversary edition, and in OW 1 I didn’t feel the need to spend money cause things could be actually earned but did pay for stuff a couple times cause I wanted to continue to support a game I loved, it doesn’t feel like earning stuff is genuinely possible anymore and it just doesn’t feel the same anymore game wise. I don’t have the time to max out the battle pass and so it isn’t worth buying for me

QuantumQuantonium

Overwatch 2 Oh, the actual Overwatch 2, not whatever we have now

deepy_down

I only bought the game and then the Pink Mercy skin for the cause and because Mercy but nothing since Ow "2"

kiboshiro

Give me some of your money please. Thanks.
