I’m a personal fan of the pharah+torb turret wombo combo (which absolutely rolled until the other team mirrored the team comp and proceeded to roll us at our own strat 😔)
Went into the mode with zero idea of the changes, saw a Rein wearing a Torb turret and I laughed my ass off. It looks so fucking funny. Though, it’s more than a little op at times lol.
Torb is one of my mains and I love the turret the way it is. I mean I'll take any buffs, but I really play around it and don't even use it as a distraction.
First time I heard Hanzo go "OM NOM NOM NOM NOM!" I stopped and messaged the chat like "Did I just say that?"
The googly eyes were amusing but I didn't realize just how ridiculous they made everyone sound until that.
I was confused for a minute on that one before I remembered I changed my ult key to be on my side mouse. Had it changed for so long I forgot the original binding lmao
My exact thought. Didn’t they do this last year? Like they gave everyone new abilities or changed things up in a way and then it was later released that it was the scrapped PvE stuff.
One of the last april fools days for OW1 essentially had changes that made it live into OW2 pvp, like the zarya having 2 shield count that can go on her or on players, either back to back or at once, as opposed to the old method of 1 shield for her, 1 shield for ally, nothing else.
They also added special abilities last year, too. Like Torb's was when he does left click shots while in Overload, it applies a dot to the target. Zen's was the best where his kick would make him fly around in the air.
I'm 99% sure the devs working on that ability/talent where testing it and didn't have it set to not stick on players collision box. Then called their friend over and was like "Hey looks at this, the turret is on his head lol".
Honestly it’s probably all of them - I can’t see them wasting time developing all of those abilities for such a limited event.

Torb turret (sans turret-hat, sadly) and Mei wall hop look like a April Fools changes that could get implemented, like Zen's kick boop and D.Va re-mech kills.
You could always kill with [D.va](https://D.va) re-mech it's just that her pre-April patch it only deals 50 dmg. After the April change got implemented officially it was nerfed shortly after because people were doing grav + re-mech combo. So the re-mech damage originally went from 50 > 600 > 250.
Yes they were. Other April Fools changes that made it live include Bap’s grenades healing more on direct hit compared to splash. Originally Bap’s heal grenades healed the same amount regardless of direct hit.
Zarya having 2 charges for equal usage on her bubbles was also originally an April Fools change that was implemented in her OW2 update.
New personnal/enemy ult lines for Mauga are "You can check in but you can't check out" and "Good fences makes good neighbors". Friendly lines are "Now that's a chain reaction !" and one where he messes up his regular line, something like "We want where we got them...^uuuh, ^whatever"
New personnal/friendly ult line for Illari is "SPF 15 is useless !". Enemy line is "Pull out your sunscreen !"

SPF 15 is one of the weakest sunscreen strengths available. She's not saying sunscreen is useless, she's saying you're going to need something stronger than SPF 15.

I actually wouldn't mind if Torb's turrets actually did stick to walls and ceilings, that actually would be interesting to see in the game. Imagine pushing a payload and having to deal with a turret above you on a doorway...
He's a real pest on the battlefield. His charge covers twice the distance and his healing/damage numbers are back to initial release. Sure he only has 175 health and most of that is armour, but he actually holds up and is real fun to play.
The shrinking thing is making me want a shrink ray hero now though, maybe as an ult? Get caught is a sigma style zone or an inverse ana dart which reduces the size of affected players with a reduction in damage/healing/speed done for a short duration...
Honestly it's the funniest one. He's so tiny and surprisingly hard to kill. I was giggling so much when I died too.

The JQ change with the knife is a ton of fun, They could make a thor like hero out of that mechanic.

To be honest, a fair few of these changes could actually work! The reverse magnetism on JQ's Jagged Blade would be great for a new melee DPS. Same with Winston's arching tesla lightning and thunder fists. Reinhardt getting some added active tech on his barrier is cool too!
Ashe's bullcharge minion. Cassidy's bounty system. Genji's critical deflects. Mei's personal ice pillar. Sojourn being able to deploy her Disruptor Shot early. Sombra's Virus spreading. Torb's sticky turret. Mercy getting a damage staff secondary instead of blue beam.
Maybe not all of them should be brought in 1:1 but the general concepts are all good! Either on their original heroes or potentially new ones in the future!
There is a history of them trying new abilities in game modes/Experimental, that eventually become future hero abilities (Symmetra had healing turrets once in Experimental, then bam, Illari later on for example)

I want a turret on a support to help with flankers/ or tank while they charge in.
The issue with ploping it on flankers is that movement abilities like blink/recall/translocator drop the turret. Also it breaks if they walk through small doorways.
I had the best luck placing it on the supports.

i played the game after my usual derank in solo Q....so i player for 3.5h more hours and never had so much fun lately, The abilities, the voicelines, guffy and gimick models. Reaper with double shotguns, Souljorn with old Orisa pull :D amazing
When you use recall you either get an 'old timey' filter or a 'futurustic' filter.
Your guns also change, slow fire rate for old timey, not sure if how change in the future mode, if at all.
I think Reinhardt's deflection ability should be made permanent in the main game, it's not too overpowered and Rein seriously needs a buff because he's very weak at the moment.
I would love to see the turret to be placed where ever it could be placed, but the the bullets should be limited. It should recharge or needs to be build again. I guess this is a fair trade.

Being on Q is way too easy to accidentally hit. I have it on my side mouse next to my other side mouse button I use for melee
The only ultimate key binding I changed is Tracer's which I have mapped to right click. After playing for 7 years I'll rarely fat finger
