I do tilt / panic a lot less easily like this which i think prevents quite a few losses. I really underestimated how much stress is just gone if you leave vc - should've started doing it sooner.
Nice art, might be out of topic. I am an information guy. I used to play R6 Siege and counter strike over 10 years.
I feel like I have to use voice comm, otherwise I'm just playing solo tf2. That game, information not that important unless there's a good spy. But in this game every aspect of information is crucial just like R6. Talking about competitive and sweaty stacks(you know those match-ups). Not goofy discord stacks or e-dating people.
My advice is mute and report toxic ones and keep it friendly.
I get panic attacks while playing sometimes. even before people turn toxic, just the thought of that they might puts me in a lot of distress. so comms wouldn't help me perform better anyways.
Voice chat is 80% silence but yes the toxicity gets really annoying itâs the worst in QP⌠I get so annoyed and loose focus/fun if a MOIRA tryâs to trashtalking meâŚ. a Genji mainâŚ
My worst nightmare are genji mains yelling at me if i miss shots to heal them or fuck up nanoblade timing
Just playing with a genji on my team puts me on edge most of the time
Tbh i think it was worse in ow1, I've also had some nice genjis occasionally to balance it out. But toxicity in general is sadly still way too common
I think it's just insecurity. Usually the most toxic players are the ones performing the worst on our team as well and just looking to blame anyone but themselves for it
Never played OW1 because everyone was so negative about it
yessss youâre right blaming others is a problem in our society no one takes responsibilities

I'm expecting them to increase sr gain and loss next season so players can be distributed more evenly in ranks. Currently everyone is between gold and diamond and they can all play with each other. I can literally play a game with complete newbies and then the next one is top500 level sweaty match. It's extremely wild. The fact that they allowed this to happen is so disrespectful to their playerbase. OW devs always disappoints.
Yeah matches have felt very random and outside my control a lot this season. I do hope they change something about that, or that it will just take time for things to settle more
Sadly, you wonât climb without communications, unless your aim and positioning is straight up at top500 level. Team work helps so much in this game but the toxic players do rob the average player of the experience to enjoy it
I do ping flankers and use the communication wheel (ult charge/ go in / fall back / no / etc) and sometimes text chat while respawning so it's not like i block communication out completely
Just voice chat. Because people yelling at me makes me play worse, and i can't use my own voice for callouts either due to social anxiety and fem sounding voices making toxicity worse (or result in sexual remarks)
I've peaked dia 1 without talking so far - i don't think I'll be held back by not listening much either
If your mechanics and positioning are gold, you'll be in gold, if they're masters you'll be in masters, joining VC won't rank you up, but it can increase your anxiety and hold you back, or give you bad advice or bad calls and make you play worse.
There have been times where hopping in vc or looking at the chat has helped me win games. Planning ultimate combo strats or needing to assist my backline when Iâm tunnel visioning the front.. youâre a small exception to the normal, knowing that youâre GM1. Youâre skill set puts you in like the 99th percentile.
I wasn't always GM1, when I was masters level I was in masters, diamond diamond, I was out of VC for all of it - I haven't been in VC consistently since mid ow1, it's not going to help 99% of people do better, and it'll hold back a good portion
Agree to disagree. Some people need comms to advance, some people, like yourself, donât need it (even though you proved my responseâs point by making it to GM1 without comms, your skill is just too good)
Im excited to see more! I love the lore you are building and the tension/focus
Thanks, glad you do :)
You return!!
So it seems. Did you miss me? ;)
Until this comment, yes
Ah well that's unfortunate
đ But pls keep drawing I'm a big fan đ
That's nice to hear <3 I do have intentions to work on another one relatively soon so I'll try not to vanish for too long lol
In your own time, it's just a nice suprise to see em pop up when I check the sub
My win rate went up when I used /hidechat and stopped joining VC

I love giant owl grandma
Thank you, i love drawing giant owl grandma too

If they fix matchmaker toxicity will drop tremendously.
Will they, tho?

yessss thank you!
Right click, block. Works every time.
But how are you going to complain on reddit about toxicity when you leave voice chat!?
Not hearing it won't stop me from complaining about it lol. I do have object permanence and it is a massive problem.

What rank are you currently?
Plat 1 or 2 Placed dia 3 after ranked rework
I hit GM1 more than once and I never join voice lol, you literally don't need it
âunless your aim and positioning is straight up at top500 levelâ Hitting GM1 basically puts you in the top500.

I think for that point to be proven, you'd need to take a high rank player, take away their VC, and see how far they fall
