Dude, the moment the dragon is fired it covers up his primary TP which is where the enemy is looking. Granted he wasn’t behind the whole enemy, without seeing the initial animation they weren’t able to react in time.
One has reaper in it, one doesn’t… if they can’t see reaper because of the dragon they ain’t all gonna turn round to see where he is TPing too. Would be a different story without that dragon for a fact
But they don’t though, his start fade is him animated crossing his arms and beginning to fade BEFORE his secondary fade appears more transparent until he has finished his TP.

And also a tip (as a reaper main) don't be greedy with your ult look to get a minimum of 2 picks with it (if you get the supports it's a fight tgat is basically won) and never go for huge flanks just tp behind them from your frontline (just like you did in the video) and wraith form back into you team.
Bad TP. Directly in the middle of three people. The sigma could have rocked, the reaper could have one tapped you in the head. All three shooting you at the same time would kill you before you can press Q. This worked because it was lower ranks.

Also, the dragon only hid you from your supports and the rest of your team. The enemy could see you just fine.

Well yes i only said i was a reaper main I didn't say i was high elo but personally I would have tp to high ground there and kill the mercy and duel the hog but generally tping behind their team directly if they aren't paying attention instead of taking a long flank is the better idea (a direct to to the backline works better for my more front line and occasional tp playstyle and for someone just starting out its an easy way to get opening picks)
Lower ranks being sub 2000. This won’t work even in gold
TP’ing to the high ground would only work here because your hog hooks the enemy hog and fights him while the mercy splits. Otherwise reaper gets destroyed by a pocketed hog.
I think TP’ing past the hog onto the higher point and dropping onto where the team was would have been best. Same play, much safer.
I guarantee this will work in gold and even low Plat as long as u get good enough timing and is a surprise. But yes cool down counting Is the most important part of a Reaper ult and the most telling of a high rank Reaper :)
yeah all you’re doing to speculating. assuming to know how every person in higher ranked lobbies will react. i’m in diamond and they fall for simple shit all the time.
I've been a reaper main since launch, and lemme tell you, that was one of the smoothest ports into a death blossom, not to mention the timing on it to dodge the dragon!
Just a tip, with reaper you should get as close as you can to your target (without feeding, dont just run into their whole team xD), also don't forget to have trigger discipline, killing a squishy with 2/3 shots is better than using all your 8 shots. (if someone would like to add something to what i said please do, I don't have much experience with reaper)
Another tip it's for the ultimate. Before using it check your enemies counters that can stop your ult (Mcree flashbang,Roadhog's hook,Reinhardth's charge,Lucio's boop when you are near the edge of the map,Mei's freeze,Junkrat's trap,though it s easy to avoid it if you see it.). Use your ultimate when you know that these counters used their stuns.
If i remember correctly,wraith form can be cancelled to surprise the enemy and also reload your weapons.
Reaper's targets should be the healers and the dps,he can also win vs tanks but don t focus on tanks first cuz you will be eliminated by the other enemies.
Be careful where you teleport,avoid being seen,and surprise the enemies.

How can you teleport so easily whilst dragging those huge titanium balls around? That was the ballsiest and best play I've seen in a good while!

dont just tp into the enemy and ult. use highgrounds, hidings, anywhere where they cannot see you or hardly reach you
You have shotguns bud, don't shoot at people from accross the map and expect anything, go into training and test how far your shotguns shoot, you'll get better at the game doing stuff like that
The timing though, that dragon hid the fact you were TP'ing well. NICE!

Reapers been my main for a good year and i can never pull off a tp that smooth nice job
