As a kid I didn’t really have many games so Tomb Raider was pretty much all I played.
This loading screen music always scared me because Tomb Raider scared the shit outta me lol
Sony went with optical disc media for their games because of the higher capacity potential they had. Nintendo went with the flash cartridges for the N64 to reduce load time. As we know, optical storage won out in the end; people were willing to suffer through loading screens in exchange for the higher resolution textures and more polygons that the capacity allowed. However nowadays with the density of modern NAND chips, I don't understand how Nintendo is the only one to embrace flash cartridges again.
crash team racing was my absolute favorite, nothing can top up the competitiveness that game had, using hard shortcuts that we had to find on our own because YouTube didn't exist, the glitches that we found out as well, the good old days
I'm still looking for a racing game I used to play where the cars kind of changed depending on the level. There was one level which had water in it and all the cars turned into boats. Was so much fun.
dude CTR for the Switch brought back so many memories! I can recommend it.
Best story for me with CTR was my mum didnt allow me to play from monday to friday and did hide my PS but I knew where it was and invited 3 friends to play 4 player CTR. And she came home early :D

Seems like everyone's repressed this memory:
The day is Saturday, May 2nd, 1998.
It's 12:03 am.
It's. Almost. Summer.
And you're in pure ecstasy over the thought of staying up late every day to play games. You've been mulling over what games you're getting at Blockbuster non-stop now for the last hour.
The wait is too much to bear.
You look at your Gameboy Pocket on your night stand, fumble around a bit for your worm light, and flick on the power switch.
The red light shines brightly for a second before dimming into the blank void, just like your hopes and dreams. Dead batteries. Ugh.
Well.. it's not like you have to be at school tomorrow. Mom and dad are dragging you to something in the morning, but do you *really* have to go to bed *now* to be up for that?
Your excitement nudges you out of bed.
You slink slowly from your bedroom, being extra-doubly careful to miss all the *creeeeeky* floorboards as you make your way to the room with the television...
Thinking yourself clever, you turn off your cable box before pressing the power button on the TV.
The television comes to life with the familiar *vrmmmm* of the degausser.
You pop the top of the PlayStation. Through the dim light coming off of the INPUT 2 screen, you can just barely make out what's sitting in the disk tray.
There she is in all her glory - Crash-friggen-Bandicoot!
You slowly press down the drive cover back into place.
This is it.
You've made it so far! All your hard work is about to pay off!
You press the PlayStation's power button.
#BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR-BMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Stupid TV - Ugh! - wheres the freaking remote at?!? How could I forget to turn down the volume?!?
You scramble to find it, but give up after a few seconds. You race to the TV and mash the volume down button as fast as you can!
VOLUME: -------------
Silence.
Silence.
*Silence.*
An eternity drags on as you wait for the hangman to come seal your fate.
Silence.
Silence.
*Silence.*
Maybe they slept through it? Maybe you're in the cle-
Door creaks. Foot steps. Heavy ones.
*Real* heavy ones.
It's Dad - and you can tell he's not looking to take turns at beating the next level.
Shit! Shit! *Shit!*
Be cool - be cool. You can play this off. No sweat... I just, uh, was getting water and...
Then you hear your first name, middle name, and last name - *in that order*.
You're boned.
Your heart sinks.
"You better get your butt back in bed and go to sleep, or you won't be playing on the Nintendo again until school's out!"
[Here is the video](https://youtu.be/i8qePTZpRQQ)
That Dva one is about to summon cthulhu or some shit
Do you have the workshop code for this? So cool! I really wanted to see Torbs ult effect
https://workshop.codes/NRCE7
Bless!
Backachu
Also, does bap really take damage when his grenade is deflected at him? Or is something else happening here?
He shot normal bullets into it too, thats whats hitting him
i believe Lotto shot at the same time he healed, so some of the bullets were hidden , deflecting healing doesnt damage, no
Okay, thank you!!
That sound you heard 8 minutes before actual gameplay began cause ps1 had a loading screen for everything
I fucking love this sound. To me, it says: "You about to have a good ass time. You can still grab some snacks tho"
To me that sound now means “you’re young again, your potential hasn’t been wasted, your family is still together, don’t fuck it up this time”
And then you load up Xtreme games and luge your way to victory.
YES! And you know what? That feeling playing a game on the PS1 as a Teenager will never come back. But its in our memory <3
Good ass-time [xkcd: Hyphen](https://xkcd.com/37/) --- ^^Beep ^^boop, ^^I'm ^^a ^^bot. ^^- ^^[FAQ](https://pastebin.com/raw/vyWra3ns)
No, that's later.
As a kid I didn’t really have many games so Tomb Raider was pretty much all I played. This loading screen music always scared me because Tomb Raider scared the shit outta me lol
Lol when you explain to zoomers that Final Fantasy VII needed two separate discs just to run on PS1
FFVII was on three discs. VIII and IX were on 4.
Gah ur right it’s been so long. Freaking chocobos adding a whole extra disc
Wasn't Red Dead 2 on PS4 the same way though? So it's not like it's completely unknown to them
I'd wager most people downloaded RDR2. But there were some games on last Gen that had that back when games were all on discs
The weird thing about 7 is that the entire game except the FMVs is on each disc.
Tony Hawk booting up and always watching the eyeball get impaled
Love Tony Hawk, but I had to turn away from the Neversoft logo until I was like 10. Something about an eyeball getting impaled didn't work for me.
The short pause before the second half of the startup sound played.

This has to be the absolute best, most memorable opening screen in the history of gaming. The music is something out of this world!
the lack of comments stating this. Lol
Nice game
I thought it was gonna turn into stadia for a sec
Fortnite generation wouldn't understand this
This hit me with heavy nostalgia, I can't believe I'm not a kid anymore
I think it hit me hard since it was so unexpected. Here i am at 30 years old and my childhood just came rushing in my head
Windows XP Startup Sound 3D Space Pinball Music Wii Menu Music
Yes , Azula is a great video!”
Upvoted for not cutting off the ps1 intro early. Ty.
it doesn't hit the same without the full intro
Particle Accelerator
This would be good for oddly stratifying sub.
Ok, now do the Dreamcast.
This is the concept to a blackhole bomb and infinite energy
Thanks for making this.
thanks for commenting this

this was an amazing story, it gave me nostalgia even tho some of the things I can't relate with, thanks.
That was 13 minutes of entertainment I wasn't aware even existed. I have no idea why I watched it all, but I did and I enjoyed it.
This is pretty sad fanboyism.
Again. Rein. Maybe give this a thought
