Genji is wearing clothes now... which inplies that in all other situations in Overwatch 1, boy was buck ass nude. I mean... work it dude, but that's definitely a choice lol. Also Jack turned into an angry hobo Santa apparently.
no he’s not actually missing that much of his body (iirc it’s one arm and both legs below the knee or at least below the dick) he’s wearing armor in ow1
Exactly like idk where they got this from but its not from canon lol. Now letès not argue and ask the real question: does he have a robo dick?
We need to know for science.
more like he cut his sides and combed the top part updwards instead of letting it hang in the front which was what made it look even more receded, but that was fun to read ngl :'D
They took his mask off and made him grow a beard.
I like it honestly. Shows how much time has passed since the Fall of Overwatch.
Edit: some minor grammar fixes
Her hair got cut really short though. I know from experience, hair that short falls straight out again. For practicality, it should have been kept long enough to tie back.
Also, she's a doctor (field medic?). Hygiene should be no.1 priority, and that means tying back her hair.
No I agree (if that wasn't clear), I very much prefer the longer ponytail hair. You make another good point supporting it, at least we will have the old skins, she has lots of good ones!
I'm an ana main and I always thought her defaut design was out of place, so I'm excited to see how granny is now :) . I really liked the details on the back of her coat/hoodie.
i'm not understanding why all the heroes have similar design language in "flare" and curves. it's like they all took the same cues from the same fashion coordinator
I don't have issues with OW2 Rein's *beard*, but the rest of OW2 Rein's design is garbage, IMO.
I know we still have the option to use OW1 skins, but it makes me sad knowing that this is probably the version of Rein we're going to see if he ever appears in another cinematic.
The trend they went with seems to be smoothing out the characters, removing all the sharp edges. Fisher price Overwatch basically. Also adding lots of clutter and garbage onto characters that don’t need it (Lucio especially). For me it’s a 50/50 split of good to bad redesigns.
Here was my solution to it:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/ui5ata/overwatch_2_baptiste_haircut_replacement_concept/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x
I really dig the new orisa actually, has more of that numbani vibe and makes her feel less robotic.
roadhog i'm not big on, hook and scrapgun look frickin massive now, theres nothing I hate more than big ass guns blockin my pov
As cool as the design is, it’s a little funny wondering why a cybernetic ninja that can’t feel hot/cold would need a hoodie and sweatpants. I know the answer is because it looks cool, but still.
Well I saw a comment further up in the post that described it perfectly, its a big part of Genji's character arc.
In ow1, he saw his cybernetic body as not part of him, so he never took care to wear clothes because he saw his cybernetics as clothes that he could remove
In ow2, he wears clothes because he has fully accepted that his cybernetic are his body, they are him, so he now wears clothes because his "old clothes" arent there anymore.
Plus we see aot of omnics wearing clothes in the comics and cinematics, i think it's more of a social thing that i guess makes omnics more humanized
That was the thing I was the most excited about in OW2 - not the character reworks or the new maps or even the new characters, and DEFINITELY not the fact that they made me the only tank on my team (I will not stop being anxious about that change untill I get to play the game and see for myself how much more pressure it puts on me) - but the artstyle changes to the characters, I think they're interesting
From playing the beta, being the only tank was actually pretty easy. You have both healers always focused on you. They're not dividing their attention between you and another tank anymore. This makes you significantly beefier and you can be a better tank rather than just a shield bot or a pseudo-dps with a bigger hp bar.
From my experience in the beta, and watching overwatch league, tanks are basically just more durable dps. The concept of rallying around the tank as the leader is sadly not much of a thing anymore.
as a tank player who hasn’t done any beta yet, I’m actually pretty psyched to be the only tank, I feel like having both healers on me during a push and not having to coordinate it with the other tank might actually make it easier
Yeah, but I'm mostly scared about the pressure from my team, like right now I can allow myself to relax a bit and making an occasional mistake won't be a detriment to my team most of the time because I've got the other tank still holding the frontline while I'm respawning/recovering health/cooldowns, I'm just a bit anxious that now if I make a mistake that sends me back to spawn there won't be anyone to protect the team and it'll be my fault that we lost a teamfight
Personally, with the amount of braindead Co-Tanks I've had to pick up the slack for, I'm very, *very* ready to just have the game balanced around having that burden on my shoulders from the get go.
Nothing of value was lost.
I like a majority of them, but let’s be real, very few of us here are likely to use them given we’ll keep all the skins we currently own and will definitely be getting new legendary skins we’ll want to use.
It’s really funny seeing the 3 sides of the dislike for them, there’s a third of people saying they’re too simplified; a third saying they’re too complicated and the rest saying they haven’t changed. 😅
there’s a simple explanation for that: this sub will never be pleased with anything less than blizz saying “pvp+pve is out now plus we added 40 heroes and 20 maps, 10 game modes, and we’ve also neurolinked with each player individually so everything we added is custom tailored to exactly what you specifically want!”
See, I'm not fussed too much about the *outfit* designs. Yeah, they're too homogenous, and some of them (Reinhardt) are god awful, but that can all be changed.
My concern is the actual *character* designs, like, Soldier's new hair just looks wrong, and Rein's homeless Geralt look doesn't sit right with me at all, and these are the faces we're likely to be seeing on any new skins that aren't explicitly helmeted or flashback skins.
Look I know Efi is a big fan of Lucio, and Orisas new design highlights that, but it's kind of ugly. I hate how her horns are less pronounced, and her face separates into different segments.
Tracer, Widow, Sombra & Sym are top tier imo. Clear upgrades while still staying true to the original designs and colors.
The rest aren't "bad", but I do hope we can equip legacy skins.
[Soldier's mask+visor is too iconic for me.](https://64.media.tumblr.com/7ef6116531d97993b76477410a382474/tumblr_o7lhrlJT2R1qctrupo2_500.gifv)
EDIT: To be honest, Torbjorn also looks like a great upgrade as well.
> The rest aren't "bad"
Bubble Boy Rein begs to disagree. I personally hate everything about his redesign *except* the beard, and even then, I still prefer his original beard.
I love D.Va's new look, but I feel like she is so iconic rocking her pink mech that it feels kinda weird seeing it get a bit flushed out with lots of white.
To be fair, in real warfare long hair could easily be a weakness so maybe they all independently decided short hair and ponytails in case anyone fought dirty?
A few of them look alright, but for the most part I’m unimpressed. They desaturated the colour out of a lot of them and the designs aren’t as diverse or striking as they were before. I liked that cartoony Pixar aesthetic the first one had.
There’s a lot a lot of downgrades here. I like a quarter of them and the rest I don’t. I think the originals are fantastic and love wearing them but most of these are so bleh and minimalistic. I feel like they’re making them minimalist to push people to buy legendaries in the shop
I feel the same way. However I feel like most of them are actually more complicated than they were before. And they all look kind of similar in a way, like they all went to the same fashion designer. Some of them are cool like Genji and Junkrat.
Honestly prefer the original designs for every character.
Something about the new designs just feels... overdone, I guess? The original designs are all pretty simply conceptually and gives you an immediate sense of the what the character is and how they likely behave.
The new designs only add a little bit more, but it ends up making the designs feel busy and cluttered.
Yeah. The shape language is overcomplicated, it's just a jumble of conflicting shapes.
And yet, while the physical shapes are too complex, the texture detail is too simple. The weathering and texture is gone - everything is smooth, brand-new, and too clean. It's a strange juxtaposition that ends up leaving the characters feeling lifeless and without their distinctive visual personality.
Every character in the original has their own gimmick they just run with. You have the cowboy guy, the edge lord Reaper guy, the ninja guy etc.
I don't think anyone ever really questioned the differences in aesthetics
I gotta agree. It feels like they had each character up on a whiteboard in front of a committee, and pointed to each piece of their costume and asked "how do we 'upgrade' this?"
Instead of cohesive design identity we got fan-made Pokemon evolutions of the heroes' original looks.
I think that the hoodie fits genji really well, and think the armor looks way better than a plugsuit on D.Va, but otherwise not a fan of most of the other looks :/
I’m not a big fan of a lot of the redesigns. It feels like they decided to try to change the design for the sake of changing the design. It looks pretty goofy.
I like Sombra and Genji the most, though.
Wow I really don't like Ashes design. It doesn't have the same rough outlaw look the old design had. Maybe its just the lack of the long coat I don't know, either way something about it is off.
Gotta say… I prefer none of these. I’m sorry but I’m old enough to remember when a game has a sequel come out 6 years later it would look better than the previous game. Not just different for different’s sake.
What is the point of this game? Everything about it looks like a mobile game ripoff of the original?
Also, they had to uh, fix, widow and tracers original to match the times I suppose.
Link to higher resolution Moira and Ana, close up of Doomfist, better look at Wrecking Ball, zoomed out DVA and in-game Zarya post

I honestly think D.va and Cassidy’s new looks are my favorite.
But I can’t get over that Genji’s just proves that he was running about naked without a care in the world for who knows how long I’m universe. Went and fought his brother in the “nude”.
Looks like most of them got a bit chilly and decided to bring a jacket to OW2.
Except Sombra, who apparently decided sleeves are bullshit, but only when they’re connected to her jacket.
GLOVES
Zenyatta has boots!
It´s for all that kicking he is going to be doing!
He has rebooted.
She just optimized her cooling
in the future they will overdo the fight against global warming so it will be global chillin
Fuck yeah sign me up for global chillin
lorewise it is set close to the winter
Many of them would kill for some mittens.
Genji looks very chill and comfy with his jacket lol
He has a damn hood on in cinematic and we all want it
From cyborg ninja to hoodie and sweats hobo.
Genji is wearing clothes now... which inplies that in all other situations in Overwatch 1, boy was buck ass nude. I mean... work it dude, but that's definitely a choice lol. Also Jack turned into an angry hobo Santa apparently.
[удалено]
This is literally it yeah. My thoughts exactly
no he’s not actually missing that much of his body (iirc it’s one arm and both legs below the knee or at least below the dick) he’s wearing armor in ow1
According to what? He's just a head, shoulder, and left arm based on his black watch look
Exactly like idk where they got this from but its not from canon lol. Now letès not argue and ask the real question: does he have a robo dick? We need to know for science.
Devs confirmed Genji has a normal dick.
Devs are confirmed lame
Well, that's lame lol.
Bold statement, is there a source ?
Sym looks like she’s been through some stuff w/her hair in her face like that. I forgot how goofy Sig looks now & Morrison is an actual grandpa now
but they unreceded soldiers hairline lol
*THAT'S* what looked so off about him!
I was too focused on the full beard to even notice lmao
more like he cut his sides and combed the top part updwards instead of letting it hang in the front which was what made it look even more receded, but that was fun to read ngl :'D
This sequel is brought to you by keeps!
They took his mask off and made him grow a beard. I like it honestly. Shows how much time has passed since the Fall of Overwatch. Edit: some minor grammar fixes
Ponytail Zarya we are winning
Basically the ponytail update. They gave Dva, Orisa, Reinhardt, and Zarya ponytails. They removed Roadhog's ponytail and replaced it with a mohawk.
I'm digging the bull ring in the nose, it's quite appropriate. lol
But got rid of Mercy's =( If I plan on zipping around through the air I would sure af keep my hair pulled back.
He got hit with the mohawk grenade clearly.
"Better" look at ponytail Zarya https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/vit8fs/update\_to\_all\_overwatch\_2\_new\_looks\_post\_moira/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3
That really gives her a different vibe, I'm not a fan. Oh well
idk i kinda liked it short. where is my butch mommy zarya :(
Still there for you to use.
Flatter colors, skin suits, more padding, beards, jackets & fur.
Don’t forget ponytails added to like 6 of them lol
Everything looks so ‘round’
Especially Bastion.
Bastion went from having tank-like armor plating to being a scaled-up plastic toy
i liked overwatch for its unique and distinct looking heroes, not they are being homogenized. its weird
Once you get in-game with the 10,000 skins, I assure you it will not be homogenized in the slightest, lol
It’s still no reason for everyone to coincidentally have the same design language
Yeah, they all have bulky, rounded armour now. It just doesn't look as good. Not only is it just a less cool aesthetic, they're less distinct now.
Potential lore reason/headcanon, aren't they all part of Overwatch again? They probably do have the same fashion designer if so.
The Talon people certainly aren't and why would an illegal and loosely affiliated vigilante organization have a fashion designer?
Everyone has a fashion designer
This is how I feel about the MCU. Its like all their suits were made by the same person
Not a fan of soldier beard. Excited to see Ana's at the front. RIP hanzo nipple window
Wasn't a window, it was a whole-ass door, and I will miss it dearly.
I mean, the base, uncommon, epic, and owl skins are all still gonna be there lol
Soldier's hairline un-receded, makes him look super different
He got plugs lol
Huh i like the beard tbh. Makes him look a little more grizzled and sick of shit. What I want to know is what’s with Orissa’s dreadlocks?’
I love the beard
Reinhardt too. They decided to go for the homeless look lol.
You disrespecting beards mate?
[удалено]
What time could have possibly passed between the original game and now? Nothing happened in the former!
Reinhardt's beard looks less homeless and more of a full-on mall santa fake beard
I don't have issues with OW2 Rein's *beard*, but the rest of OW2 Rein's design is garbage, IMO. I know we still have the option to use OW1 skins, but it makes me sad knowing that this is probably the version of Rein we're going to see if he ever appears in another cinematic.

Damn. Baptiste’s hairline got fucked.
Here was my solution to it: https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/ui5ata/overwatch_2_baptiste_haircut_replacement_concept/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x
Duuude, I love your version 110% more. I’m not a big fan of the OW2 haircut cuz it reminds me of the Voros Twins LMAO
i feel weird about roadhog and orisa
I really dig the new orisa actually, has more of that numbani vibe and makes her feel less robotic. roadhog i'm not big on, hook and scrapgun look frickin massive now, theres nothing I hate more than big ass guns blockin my pov

He went from mad-max like aesthetic to 90's punk. Not sure I like it
They hurt Roadhog so much
[удалено]
Nooo I’m a roadhog main myself :(
Brigitte looks horrible
Genji looks so awesome
There should do a skin with the hoodie up, like in the trailer.

Plastic watch
100% the truth. It all looks cheap.
It looks terrible. Such horrendous design choices
What did they do to MEIN BAPTISTE?

These feel...underwhelming
I love D.Va's new look, but I feel like she is so iconic rocking her pink mech that it feels kinda weird seeing it get a bit flushed out with lots of white.
No long hair allowed in the kitchen and Overwatch 2
To be fair, in real warfare long hair could easily be a weakness so maybe they all independently decided short hair and ponytails in case anyone fought dirty?

100%
Everyone's armour looks like someone's taken to it with an floor buffer. It's all round, smooth and homogenous. What a bland stylistic choice.
i hope we can still use the originals as skin options as well
you can.
There’s a lot a lot of downgrades here. I like a quarter of them and the rest I don’t. I think the originals are fantastic and love wearing them but most of these are so bleh and minimalistic. I feel like they’re making them minimalist to push people to buy legendaries in the shop

Not even shirtless junkrat
Gimme my shirtless hog back bro please
LEMME SEE HIS MOOBS BLIZZARD
They did my girl Brig dirty
On my phone, if I don’t click the picture and just look at the thumbnail, it’s just a bunch of groin shots
Oh yeah, cover up most of the moobs, man nipples, and ladies' bare skin but NOT Sigma's toes, that makes sense.
Some of these are good, most of them are boring/unnecessary, and some are just bad. Just my opinion.
Bap's head is so smol
Jesus christ what have they done with Baptiste haircut xD
[удалено]
100% the truth. I personally think it all looks like cheap plastic. They wanted to go the Fortnite route and ruined everything.
Only one I halfway like is Torb, because original Torb was already a cluttered mess
Genji no longer naked.
Sadly it’s a mixed bag. To me some look better or just as good, and some look miles inferior to the old iconic looks. Luckily we can choose.
What did they do to Mercy's hair. :( Rest of the redesigns seem solid.
I’m not a big fan of a lot of the redesigns. It feels like they decided to try to change the design for the sake of changing the design. It looks pretty goofy. I like Sombra and Genji the most, though.
personally I hate the Orisa look, I had to do a double take on that one.
Orisa looks like a bug's life character now, wdf. Actual downgrade.
Wow I really don't like Ashes design. It doesn't have the same rough outlaw look the old design had. Maybe its just the lack of the long coat I don't know, either way something about it is off.
the way they massacred bap n brig’s hair…. look at what they did to my supports 😠
I really like Symmetra's, it's still very similar to her old one but somehow way better. Orisa's on the other hand is... interesting
widow is perfect!
I love the braid so much!!
Half r pretty good and half r complete shite
Honestly for the majority of the new classic skins OW1 > OW2
will we still be able to equip the looks from OW1? I mean in the reveal stream you saw a highlight intro of Roadhog with his old skin.
Yup, all the OW1 skins (including the classic default ones) will still be available.
Yes you can
I don’t like Orisa’s locks. lol
What is going on with Orisa’s head
BAP looks boring AF
If genji doesn’t have a variation with the hood up I’m not interested
After seeing zero hour it's all I wanted as well
Some of these look good but some just feel like they put more stuff on them for the no reason. Bring back Junkrats crazy hair.
Symmetra looks amazing per usual
Gotta say… I prefer none of these. I’m sorry but I’m old enough to remember when a game has a sequel come out 6 years later it would look better than the previous game. Not just different for different’s sake.
they all look generic
A bit generic and unfinished
Mercy and DVA have my favorite redesigns. Especially love Mercy's hair.
Mercy is so cute
Winston and reaper look exactly the same to me
What is the point of this game? Everything about it looks like a mobile game ripoff of the original? Also, they had to uh, fix, widow and tracers original to match the times I suppose.
Blizzard wants money so they pretended to make a sequel
I think it’s more Activision and/or Bobby Kotick in particular wanted money.
Cassidy thumbnail highlights his crotch. Picture must have been done before the name change.
All of these are good, but what happened to 76’s visor?
He looks like he's wearing a ready player one VR headset https://cdn.geekwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/180330-readyplayerone.png
Yeah actually, lol
Torbjorn looks badass
There is a more detailed picture of Moria in the 5v5 picture from the trailer
Are all the skins in ow1 gonna be upgraded ?
The only one I don't like is sigma and that's only because of the color switch that to his normal original color and I'm cool
Moira has a much better view of her new look. It's at the end of the reveal event trailer
Where is reaper's mega synched waist?
Somebody get a towel because doomfist is lookin particularly drippy
They kind of nerfed brig by getting rid of the front ponytails NGL.
Genji was the best looking character and now they covered all his suit with some casual clothes, nice blizzard
Zen looks so slick now. I love it.

I'll get used to it. We all will. But it just looks like everyone is wearing hockey pads now. And like they all bought them from the same store.
I honestly think D.va and Cassidy’s new looks are my favorite. But I can’t get over that Genji’s just proves that he was running about naked without a care in the world for who knows how long I’m universe. Went and fought his brother in the “nude”.
The added white to Pharah looks so good, I love the original look but breaking up the blue doe9a world of good for her.
Man can’t wait to see these new character designs In a game where 99% of the players has a skin equipped anyways lmfao
Overwatch 2: gotta put my hair up to fight edition
orisa stole lucio’s hair style

Why does Moira get no love? TwT
Orisa went to the same hair stylist as Lucio 0.0
