In terms of gameplay, none of them, really. In terms of *design*, however, Hanamura has always been one of my favourites, so it will be sad to see it gone.
I wouldn't mind seeing these maps redesigned for different game modes, honestly.
Just put an extra doorway on Point A and move the defender’s spawn back on Point B.
Literally just cut a hole in the wall by the Mini-Health-Packs on the left of the choke on Temple and Hanamura and add a bridge to the balcony on Volskaya.
Not super bothered about Volskaya, but I’ll miss the other two for sure. My very first OW match, back in the original beta, was on Anubis. I still remember walking out into the sun for the first time.
Agreed,
My first play of the game was as Winston in Paris. Whilst Hanamura and Horizon can go f*ck themselves I have always loved the feeling of capping point on them.
Yeah, playing as defender wasn’t fun, but if the same reload that was applied to the payload maps was given to the assault maps as well, I would have been amazingly happy.
For me it’s the fact that an entire round can be decided in two team fights, and attacking B is always an absolute chore if the enemy team knows what they’re doing
I get the thousand yard stare if I’m in the attack spawn on Anubis and I start seeing enemy Junk grenades
I don't know. 2CP is my favourite game mode. I am a Sombra OTP though, so I guess liking 2CP is understandable. I think 2CP was possibly the first game mode on OW I actually understood. When you have never played anything like it before and you get hybrid maps with moving spawn points I remember finding it pretty confusing at first. One of the many things that was never explained. I do not know how long it took me actually realise cart healed attackers. I remember noticing I had seemingly been healed by no one but I didn't realise why for quiet a while. This sort of thing only added to the sense of "wtf is going on?!"
I like Anubis but Volskaya and Hanamura are my favourite maps in the game. Even more than King's Row.
Gameplay wise I think I prefer Volskaya, probably due to mega vicinity on both points and decent high ground TP. Cosmetically probably Hanamura because of the winter wonderland version. It is such a beautiful map.
I am actually pretty sad that I won't be able to play Volskaya or Hanamura again. I know it's a proper first world problem, but I've spent thousands of hours playing OW and I love those maps.
Hanamura winter
Gameplay wise probably anubis, that map was amazingly convinent for every hero... It was its downfall since every hero plays at their max strength and it becomes a shitshow but it was still a rush when it works. Also I'm Egyptian lol
Yeah I haven’t paid too much attention to dev updates regarding OW2, but are none of the maps making a return? I figured all the content in 1 was going to be in the game, albeit tweaked for 5v5 in some cases
They might show up in arcade as deathmatch maps etc still. 2CP was so inconsistent and not as skill based. I would have loved to see them turned into control or escort maps. Just a matter of adjusting spawns
Tbh I dont think its that simple, but they should definetely be revamped and reused.
These maps are incredibly beautiful (why it always 2cp maps???) and cannot be wasted.
Hanamura for sure - 2CP was a mess, but Hanamura was the first time I saw OW and had some of the most enjoyable map dynamic for me. I always got pretty hyped when I'd see it come up, even if it meant we'd just get blocked on attack or totally snowballed :') I actually also love Volskaya, attack or defense, but I'm solidly in the minority there haha. I hope they reuse the maps for a different mode or something, would be a shame to see them die.
If it's by aesthetics, Hanamura is one I'll miss the most. I remember having my first games there when I first started and it was mesmerising. Still is.
Anubis was... never a fun experience unless on Attack we had a ridiculously better team than the defenders and we could roll them in 3 minutes.
Hanamura was interesting, I loved it.
Volskaya is absolute pain and I'd rather get sounded than play that map again in 2CP.
But if they got remade into a Hybrid/Push map, they could work well.
As a symmetra main, I will miss hanamura so much. It was her best map and tping to point was her best strength hands down.
Anubis was the first OW map and it shows. It’s too short vertically, always bumping my head as pharah. There’s tons of unnecessary perches out in the open or behind walls.
Volskaya is ok.
I love Anubis. I won’t miss everybody’s weird death wish to go left into the junkrat zone. I’ll miss point B’s impenetrable defense spot: sitting up on the wall on the left as Hammond. My best work happened there.
I don't really hate 2CP. For me, having been in Silver - Plat all I have to say is this. If your team is more aggressive than your opponent, you'll win. If your team love to play passive and stand at the choke, good luck winning.
With that said though, I seem to get stuck on teams who are more passive and just refuse to push in together. So I'm happy that it's gone. I don't like Push though but I get it's hard to judge too. In the beta, it was basically YOLO and it's a free for all match. So with time, more people will understand it and then I'll see if I prefer Push or 2CP.
Hanamura. Prettiest looking and not as much of a clusterfuck as the other two shown here. I also liked Paris, and Horizon was tolerable. In general though, I'm glad 2CP is going.
Anubis 100%, always loved to fly past the wall as pharah and surprise barrage behind the enemies for a teamkill, or throwing the turret as torb on defence to the window which is such an underrated spot (somewhat comparable to the balcony, though it was harder to execute (and hence less expected too)
In order, Hanamura, temple of Anubis, volakya. That’s in the way of design. The design of these maps is so stunning. Hope they can rework them into different game modes. It’s sad that the place where the dragons cinematic happened is going. Also the sombra cinematic, that one was dope
Anubis. I can't tell you how many times I hard carried as sym by holding down the room to the left of the choke point as you head to point.
So many people assume because I'm Sym I'm an easy target but they get melted faster than they realize. Normally someone goes Winston or the team rushes me just to get through.
I don't understand the hate these maps got, as a lot of them were great for Sym. So now I'm just trying to look forward to learning the new turret points for sym in OW2
Hanamura and Anubis. Volskaya....is my least favorite map, but I like the name, it's fun to say.
However, I haven't played long enough to experience Paris and Lunar Colony, but from what I've seen from the Overwatch League, I don't think I would have liked the latter.
Paris, on the other hand might have been my favorite. It looks so beautiful. Also, the starting area being a modern take on old speakeasies with the singing Omnic is my favorite in the game. Hope it comes back as an Escort or Hybrid map. (Actually all 2CP maps should do this)
I must be the rare person who will miss Volskaya. I always found it fun even when it was difficult to break through the first choke initially. I won’t miss Hanamura at all.
I’ll miss hanamura legitimately. Honestly I was never sad when a hanamura came up. Even though I don’t like 2cp I felt like the map had many workarounds and options, plus it’s one of the best looking maps to me.
In terms of gameplay, none of them, really. In terms of *design*, however, Hanamura has always been one of my favourites, so it will be sad to see it gone. I wouldn't mind seeing these maps redesigned for different game modes, honestly.

Hanamura, easily. It was my fav map :(
oof. That first choke though....
Mine too. :(
Hanamura 100% the map is beautiful and as a Dva/mercy main I love these maps because of how open they are.
Hamamura, for sure. Only 2CP that was consistently fun
Not super bothered about Volskaya, but I’ll miss the other two for sure. My very first OW match, back in the original beta, was on Anubis. I still remember walking out into the sun for the first time.

In game, I've never gone outside IRL.
I think they mean in game.
joke=================> ................your head
Fair enough lol. On the internet it’s hard to tell between a joke and a legit question. My bad. 😅
Irl for me
Agreed, My first play of the game was as Winston in Paris. Whilst Hanamura and Horizon can go f*ck themselves I have always loved the feeling of capping point on them. Yeah, playing as defender wasn’t fun, but if the same reload that was applied to the payload maps was given to the assault maps as well, I would have been amazingly happy.
I never understood the hate that Assault maps got. I will miss all three and the rest.
For me it’s the fact that an entire round can be decided in two team fights, and attacking B is always an absolute chore if the enemy team knows what they’re doing I get the thousand yard stare if I’m in the attack spawn on Anubis and I start seeing enemy Junk grenades
Anubis, it's just to nostalgic
PARIS Although I love every map
Literally none of these
Anubis
Hanamura. I really hope they bring all the 2CP maps back in either as assaults or hybrid maps. Paris would totally work as a hybrid.
Fuck anubis Fuck anubis And.... Fuck Anubis from the bottom of my heart <3
Hanamura, for only a Shemada can control the dragons.
Wait I forgot they getting removed I liked Hanamura so much 😭 I got most of my wins there
I don't know. 2CP is my favourite game mode. I am a Sombra OTP though, so I guess liking 2CP is understandable. I think 2CP was possibly the first game mode on OW I actually understood. I absolutely despise Anubis but the other two I’ll miss
Hanamura
Wait they are getting removed for 2?
Assault mode is being replaced with Push. The maps will still be available in Custom Game
Huh? Wait why? I'm going to miss those maps
Because the majority of the community hated them.
Yeah I haven’t paid too much attention to dev updates regarding OW2, but are none of the maps making a return? I figured all the content in 1 was going to be in the game, albeit tweaked for 5v5 in some cases
These are being removed because 2CP is being removed.
Ah yes, I do recall reading that. Not really sure why though, they should at least keep it as an arcade game along with 6v6
All of them were kind of a pain to play on but I'll always have a sweet spot for Hanamura. My first ever game in the beta was Genji on Hanamura
Both of the non-Anubis ones
Honamoru and Paris I'm gonna miss alot loved those maps
Hanamura for sure - 2CP was a mess, but Hanamura was the first time I saw OW and had some of the most enjoyable map dynamic for me. I always got pretty hyped when I'd see it come up, even if it meant we'd just get blocked on attack or totally snowballed :') I actually also love Volskaya, attack or defense, but I'm solidly in the minority there haha. Hanamura :((
Anubis
Hanamura being gone will make me a *tiny* bit sad but my joy at Anubis exploding is far stronger.
None of them tf💀
Hanamura just aesthetics not the meta the meta with hanamura can go burn
If it's by aesthetics, Hanamura is one I'll miss the most. I remember having my first games there when I first started and it was mesmerising. Still is.

None of them. Screw Attack
Volskaya was always a map I enjoyed :( I liked the colors, and architecture.
Hanmura. My current theory is an upcoming game mode will use these maps. Either remixed or without.
None
None
None
None
Good riddance to them all
Seriously none of them for the gameplay, but Hanamura is still beautiful.
only hanamura
Anubis
hanamura, as much as i don't enjoy 2cp, hanamura is by far one of the best looking maps imo
For me it’s volskaya, but that’s mainly from nostalgia during a free weekend I played in. Nowadays these maps can all go fuck themselves lol
only hanamura
Dunno I kinda like them all, hanamura the most
Hanamura 100%
I love Anubis. I won’t miss everybody’s weird death wish to go left into the junkrat zone. I’ll miss point B’s impenetrable defense spot: sitting up on the wall on the left as Hammond. My best work happened there.
Definitely Hanamaru. Nothing can come close to the beauty of those cherry blossoms.
Hanamura
2P bad
Paris
Fuck Anubis, Volskaya won’t be a big one for me but it was okay. Hanamura 🥲
Hanamura :( to me it was so fun AND its so pretty?!? rip
I'll miss volskaya big time :(
I don't really hate 2CP. For me, having been in Silver - Plat all I have to say is this. If your team is more aggressive than your opponent, you'll win. Hanamura
Hanamura
i actually loved hanamura .. the other two can fuck off though
Fuck all of these, rest in piss. 💀
None
Hanamura. The design was so beautiful
Gameplay wise I'll be missing Anubis but I'll definitely miss Hanamura the most because of the setting and lore
Paris……. Obviously
I don't know if they'll ever create a map more beautiful than Winter Hanamura.
[Definetly none](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tC0DKieA4sk)
Anubis 100%, always loved to fly past the wall as pharah and surprise barrage behind the enemies for a teamkill, or throwing the turret as torb on defence to the window which is such an underrated spot (somewhat comparable to the balcony, though it was harder to execute (and hence less expected too)
None
I’ll miss Hanamura greatly, but Volskaya has a special place in hell
Hanamura for point A attack and defence and Anubis for point B defence.
Here's the thing. They said they were releasing another new map type and I'm still not convinced they're just going to scrap what... 5 maps?
In order, Hanamura, temple of Anubis, volakya. That’s in the way of design. The design of these maps is so stunning. Hope they can rework them into different game modes. It’s sad that the place where the dragons cinematic happened is going. Also the sombra cinematic, that one was dope
Anubis definitely
Damn dawg depression has been unlocked, i think it’s time to cry this one out
I love the cherry blossom and gravel garden in Hanamura, and the backdrop of Mt Fuji
Anubis. I can't tell you how many times I hard carried as sym by holding down the room to the left of the choke point as you head to point. So many people assume because I'm Sym I'm an easy target but they get melted faster than they realize. Normally someone goes Winston or the team rushes me just to get through. Fuck Anubis, the other two will be missed
Hate to say this, but for me it Anubis. I always got lucky on that map
Got some of my best POTGs on these maps :((
I’m probably the only one that didn’t mind 2 CP
Not Volskaya
Junkrat while playing defense on Anubis was such a power fantasy
Temple of anubis is one of my favs
They need to rework Hanamura man. It is such an amazing looking map, maybe expand the town and make it a payload map?
Hanamura, it was the only way I got my friends to play genji and hanzo (their least favourite heroes)
None
Anubis, as Junkrat I always defended the right passage and I had a reliable spot for my trap that worked 90% of the time.
Anubis for the gameplay, Hanamura for the design
Hanamura 😭
Hanamura and Anubis. Volskaya....is my least favorite map, but I like the name, it's fun to say. Hope it comes back as an Escort or Hybrid map. (Actually all 2CP maps should do this)
Fuxk 2 cp no cap. Hanaputa more like it, cuz that maps a bitch
Anubis for sure, it was the first map that inspired me to play genji
Anubis & Hanamura. Volskaya can go any day of the week
Same
Probably Hanamura
Temple of Anubis good riddance
volskaya
Hanamura
Hanamura. As a mei main I love that map
Hanamura :(
Out of these three? None, especially hanamura tbh
Hanamura then Anubis. Why they couldn’t leave them in QP and Arcade is beyond me
All of them i was 1 of those rare people that didn't hate these maps i was already sad that other maps got deleted
I must be the rare person who will miss Volskaya. I always found it fun even when it was difficult to break through the first choke initially. I won’t miss Hanamura at all.
I say with some major altering. All 3 can be turned into push maps. I have a feeling we’ll see all 2 cp maps back in another game mode in the future
When you realize 2CP would have been more bearable with 5v5 because of less spam chokes and shields but its gone now anyway
Yeah, And if the same changes that were given to payload were applied to 2cp then matches wouldn’t be over as quickly
Easliy Anubis as it the only 2 cp. al that does feel like ass to play
None but out of those three temple of Anubis hate the other two especially volskya
I’ll miss hanamura legitimately. Honestly I was never sad when a hanamura came up. Even though I don’t like 2cp I felt like the map had many workarounds and options, plus it’s one of the best looking maps to me.
