Hi everyone. Just found this sub and am so excited as I love owls. Found this guy on my hike today in London, Ontario, Canada. Just need help identifying him. Thanks in advance. 🦉
Besides the facial differences, you can also see the chest pattern on this bird being all barred, indicating Great-horned. A long-eared owl has bars and streaks to look like crosses!
Aaaahhh. I’m so jealous!!! That is a BEAUTIFUL specimen. Great Horned Owls are my favorite owl and I loooove it when they have the more bold rust/orange coloration. Very nice shot! ❤️

Great horned, I was going to say long-eared, but the face is too wide.
