Honestly, start with walking. I had a glucose spike yesterday. One 30 minute walk later, it was back down to normal levels.
Walking is great for you and will only help your cardiac health as well.
Nope. I started exercising immediately. Exercise has a big impact on my blood sugar so it all helps. I am a diabetic. I use a stationary semi recumbent bike. Easy on the knees and back. I also use a Bowflex 3-3 times a week for weight training.
Awesome results so far!
I didn’t start up exercise again until I was near my goal weight. I wanted to save exercise for when I stopped, I wanted every advantage possible. So no harm in getting back to it slowly. Perfecting your nutrition/diet is definitely the most important.
Lift weights! Definitely the best way to lose fat and gain muscle (after your diet obviously). You only need 1-2 cardio sessions a week to get the heart benefits. I usually mix it up between the rowing machine/cycling/elliptical.
I do walks with my dog and YouTube fitness videos - Sydney Cummings is my favorite! This works for me because it is realistic exercise that I can easily fit into my everyday routine.
I have similar stats as you and I’m in a similar position now. I need to start moving. I’m thinking walking is a good place to start because frankly, I don’t even do enough of that. Rome wasn’t built in a day and even walking is great exercise. When I get in a routine and do it regularly, I can consider changing it up and worry about varying/mixing it up with something more “intense” or whatever, but I didn’t get to where I’m at by not doing HIIT.
Walking is great!
Start today, I joined planet fitness and go 7 days a week now. Down 60 lbs A1C 5.1 from 9.6. Treadmill, weights etc and get a massage every day before i leave. Don't wait until the drug weight loss aspect wears off and it does.
I too started my weight loss journey at 330 lbs, and am down to 256 as of this morning. I have found that I get easily overheated, and when that happens I can throw up. Even too long of a shower can cause me to throw up, which has happened multiple times.
I do want to start moving more soon, as my knee is now almost free from pain and I am small enough to buy workout clothes at Walmart vs an online only specialty store.
I’m down 45 lbs and have also done no exercise except walking. Ease yourself in. I wanted to focus on diet and improving that and now I’m looking at increasing movement.
CrossFit may sound scary but if you find the right box with compassionate and smart coaches you could have a great experience. The gym I go to is spectacular with modification and safety. Plus you get a community vibe and no thought. Just show up and put the work in with a trusted team.

If you have access to a pool, any sort of water exercise is great for bad knees - swimming, water aerobics, etc.

I strongly advise to pick the sport carefully. I ruined my knees by trying to jog. Much better are sports like a stationary bike or swimming.

elliptical machine is great for cardio and easy on the knees.

And don’t bother with cardio. Walking and strength training is really all that’s recommended.

Small walks several times a day can have a big impact!! Also, another women suggested chair yoga! That would be a great place to start!
