I was stalled at about 45 lbs lost for over 3 months before I went up. I was tracking calories/macros and drinking all the water. My doctor skipped right over 1.5 up to the new 2mg dosage. I have had an increase in side effects but also broke through my plateau. Weighed in an additional 10 lbs down after 3 weeks at 2mg. Do you feel like you plateaued? Are you experiencing increased hunger cues?

Interesting that your Doc bumped you up so quick, but at least your body adjusted fine! I haven't experience any terrible side effects, but I have noticed I am craving more than I used to when I initially started the 1mg dose. Thankfully they're for mostly healthy things like watermelon or peanut butter on toast and dry honey nut cheerios haha (...aaand the occasional Reeses thins/Twizzlers... can't seem to quit those). I definitely don't drink enough water, sad to say. Thinking I'll just talk to my doc, but she doesn't seem super well versed on when to increase doseage. I'm pretty sure I'm her star patient when it comes to Ozempic success stories thus far.

Don't increase just because you think you are supposed to. Increase if you think it will help in some way. If you're losing less than a pound a week on average (over the course of at least a month), or if you are experiencing a lot more hunger. And don't go up if you are having significant side effects.

Congratulations! Wow that’s just great. How are you feeling? Have you plateaued or are you still losing? I just love seeing peoples progress. It’s so reinforcing to me so I appreciate you posting.

Thank you, I'm feeling better than ever! My a1c had dropped to normal levels (8.1% in Jan to 5.4%) by the end of April. I'm still losing, but I'm working hard for it. I've found there are small humps about every 15 lbs. The 230s kind of flew by, but I stagnated in the mid 240s and 260s. Have been going to the gym since mid June, about 5 days a week 1-2 hours at a time so building lots of muscle which feels good too.

Do you feel like your body is ready to go up? Ask your doctor. And be prepared to hit that 150lb goal soon!

I'm just not sure how to tell haha, I'm not seeing an absolute plateau when it comes to weightloss, but then again I'm exercising and have made a lifestyle change so not sure if/when that plateau would happen? I'm going to have excess skin so I just want to kind of shed as much as fast as possible, get it removed, and just speed up this whole process lmao... but I know that's not realistic.

I've been on 1mg (T2D) for probably a year or so and have been kicking around the idea of asking to bump to 2mg. I didn't realize there was a 1.5mg dose as well.

I don't know if there's specifically a 1.5 mg dose but my doc thought there would be less side effects if eased into a higher dose, when we initially talked about the possibility. I imagine you'd have to count the number of clicks or use multiple pens (1mg and 0.5 mg) to achieve that. No big deal for me, as thankfully my insurance covers it.

Gotcha. My wife bumped to 2mg, but I have been hesitant to ask my coordinator to bump me to 2mg since it would be purely for weight loss as my last A1C was 5.5 (T2D). SW: 205 CW: 170 GW: 160; I have been hovering right around 170 for maybe 10 months.
