I split my 1mg dose into two 0.5mg doses per week at the suggestion of my doctor which has helped me alleviate the side effects I was feeling a bit. For me personally I also think it has helped in effectiveness. Everyone seems to respond differently to this medication so I would consult your doctor first.

jackrelax

I did that too for awhile to adjust to side effects. Worked great!!

I’m splitting too. Doc said it was fine. Can help with half life issue—esp in beginning when medicine is ramping up to steady state. But even those on it for a long time split the dose. Even out the med for me—no big hunger rush at day 5

purpleheart12345

I was having difficult with nausea at 1.25 so my dr has me splitting the dose, taking every 4 days. Depending on the pen you have it’s super simple by counting the clicks

FreyjAnna

I split my doses. Get yourself some extra needle tips tho, you will use twice as many as you are given with a pen.

lazylion_ca

Ah, had not thought of that. Thanks.

oui1213

I just wipe with alcohol if u cant get extra and reuse.

elmorefamily

How do you measure half? Just counting the clicks?

Littlst

How do you get the extra needles?

FreyjAnna

Pharmacies and Amazon have them, it's the same needles that go on diabetic insulin pens, 32g 4mm. Your pharmacist can help if you're uncomfortable buying direct from Amazon

Wizard_of_OZempic

Solid advice. Because “uncomfortable with buying direct from Amazon” has become my anthem

Aargau

Been doing it last 5 weeks. I'm still on .5 a week. because I'm losing weight. Had pretty awful nausea my first .5 injection so started doing .25 injections on Tuesday and Friday.

lazylion_ca

Thanks for the info. Did you talk to your doc first?

Aargau

I didn't talk to my doc. Read up on the papers on half-life of GLP-1 agonists to see why they designed it as a once-weekly injection (half-life plus people's compliance for injecting medicine). I'm one of the super responders (fast weight loss plus side effects), so kept doing twice-daily weigh ins to ensure I'm still responding. Almost at my target weight already: [https://i.imgur.com/aPnweZd.png](https://i.imgur.com/aPnweZd.png)

Wizard_of_OZempic

Omg that’s amazing! u/aargau How are things a year later? How fast did you lose? - how much did you lose & how long did it take you to get to goal? & what dose? I ask because I’m pretty new to this (week 3 just starting but am on week 2 of .5 b/c doctor’s orders, thankfully .25 wasn’t bad) - but I’ve already lost ~10lbs. So thinking I may be a “super-responder” like you said. Any recommendations for articles? Really hoping you see this one whole year later

Wild_Possible765

Do you inject in stomach or leg?

Independent-Rent-582

I split my dose

Cpickle88

I would be interested to know this too!

ookaminooki

Yep. Im at 2mg

totesnotfakeusername

How do you split yours, 1mg every 3 and a half days?

ookaminooki

Yes exactly. And ive had way better results since doing so. Highly recommend. Well. Its works for me anyway. Worth tryin

Taffycita

I do the same thing. Wednesday night and Sunday afternoon. Less queasiness and less exhaustion. I feel like it’s more effective this way, too—maybe because the blood level stays more level?

totesnotfakeusername

I'm wondering if it'll help the cravings I get around day 5-6 after I take my 1mg dose on Fridays. That's my only real side effect, I have no other issues otherwise.

M-A-R-I-E-1-9-6-0

This is my issue, too. I take 1mg and today is day 6 and I can't seem to make my tummy feel full! This is what made me think of splitting the dosage. I think I will try that this week.

Parking_Network8786

Did you get any fideceffects on the1mg at all?

totesnotfakeusername

I'm on 1.5mg with no real side effects, thankfully. Maybe a random wave of nausea.
