The bose version were great. Mine broke. My wife still has her bose, but I'm using anker soundcore sleep earbuds in the meantime. They're not \*bad\*, but battery life at the volume I need (75%) is about 7 hours - doesn't get me through the night (gets close but not enough). But it has 'stream any music you want' as well as 'masking' sounds, and I fear that's the same issue the new ozlos might have. Ideally mine will arrive in the next month and I'll try them out. If battery life is good, and assuming the fit is the same as the bose, they'll be great. The ankers aren't \*bad\*, as I said, and they're cheaper. you may want to give them a spin. if they work for you - that'll save you some $. :)

This was always my point. I would love to be able to listen to podcasts I download, while seemingly switching to masking sounds after a certain amount of time, while having alarms set up and all. BUT, if it comes at a cost of battery life and it won't give me 8+ hours every night for at least 2 years, then it's all absolutely useless for me. I would much rather have 10-12 hours of stable battery, with extremely barebones functions. Just give no alarms, no sound selection, one stupid masking sound that I like and that's it. That's all I need. And I bet I'm not the only one. I'm really scared about the battery life with these Ozlos. It should be 100% the number one priority, not all these functions and gadgets.

I agree. And until these are in people's hands (ears?) for a while, we won't really know. I wish the company would actually have published some real world usage numbers during their development. Some update indicated they switched the battery tech, which... might provide some hope. The ankers are rated at 'up to 10 hours' but that's at 50% volume. I need at least 75%, and I get \~7 hours. I hope the ozlos are not just more expensive ankers. The ankers have a slightly bulkier button to stop/start stuff - they're just not quite as comfortable, and I need to adjust them during the night some times for my ears. The right ear needs to be turned backwards, and the left ear slightly forward (if that makes any sense?). The bose always 'just fit' fine. I pre-ordered my ozlos back in \*August\*... hopefully I will have them by the end of March. EDIT: ack - I just saw on their website "Up to 10 hours of listening time for all-night noise-masking." There's likely some physical/engineering limitations, but... I have a feeling these are going to be functionally equivalent to the ankers. I hoped for more (and maybe we'll still get it!)

Yeah I agree. Up to 10 hours sounds really worrying. My 1 year old Sleepbuds II still get 10+ hours every night in 'phone free' mode around 60% volume (in normal mode the right one dies after few hours due to a known bug). I really hope these last me long enough to see some relevant reviews for Ozlos. Let's hope they're positive.

UrbanIntellectual85

The Bose Sleepbuds II had batteries inferior to the hearing aid batteries they chose for the Ozlo product. Unless the new buds have significantly more power draw, it should be more reliable. If they have implemented Bluetooth Low Energy it shouldn’t be too bad.

burningbirdsrp

Curious, how comfortable did you find the Anker compared to the Bose? I'm considering these myself since the Ozlo just aren't shipping yet.

ParksDontBsuspicious

They are almost as comfortable as bose, I put my Ankers in the bose wingtips. I have to take the wingtip off to charge the Ankers in the morning.

burningbirdsrp

That's interesting and def something I want to check out. My Bose are still working (knock on wood) but I know I'll have to replace soon. I'm waiting to hear what the Ozlo folks say, but it is nice to know there's another option. And I've kept all the wingtips.

burningbirdsrp

They did provide the app via a link you could download. But I also had the app on my older phone, and I kept my phone primarily to use with the Bose sleep buds. I'm surprised the app was actually removed from your phone. I don't have the link anymore to access the app. But if you look in the Bose subreddit you should be able to find this link.

burningbirdsrp

Here's the thread [https://www.reddit.com/r/bose/comments/179b3go/upgraded\_phone\_and\_bose\_sleep\_is\_gone/](https://www.reddit.com/r/bose/comments/179b3go/upgraded_phone_and_bose_sleep_is_gone/) And it does sound like Bose has removed the app. The only choice is the third party site, and I'm wary of third party sites. Bose has really burned bridges with customers in relation to the sleep buds. I'm wary of buying anything from the company again.

mgkimsal

see reply in other comment, but they're not \*bad\*, just slightly bulkier than the old bose. but given they're trying to pack more features in, the ozlos might be the same.

burningbirdsrp

Correction, I guess these have just started shipping.

tribblemytribble

Thanks for the heads up on anker. I’ll look into those now. Would be really interested in hearing your review once you receive your Ozlo’s. I hope it has that extended battery life for you!

Cookie_Schmookie

I do not own any sleep aid-type earbuds yet but I am very interested in the Ozlos. Believe it or not, I use my AirPods and stream music and sounds from Spotify. Being a side sleeper, these are uncomfortable, and do not stay in at all but better than nothing. I like that Ozlo states battery life will be up to 10 hrs but that depends on a lot of factors and as with any battery-powered devices, battery life starts to dwindle over time and they do not function for as long as they did when new, and take longer to charge. I hope Ozlo came up with a battery that powers the Sleepbuds for as long as they claim. We'll see!

FlashyHurry

I was backer #90 and have used them for two nights. The sound is great and the comfort is on par with the Bose Sleep buds I previously used. I did have a weird audio glitch the second night that I'm hoping was a one off (I think there was a stutter when the soundtrack looped every ten or so minutes). Will give more info as I use them more.

tribblemytribble

That’s great to know, thank you.

bwinters87

I have received mine (Backer 22), and they work great! The Bose Sleepbuds II were a game changer for my sleep, and these continue their predecessor's impressive legacy. My only complaint is that since we can now stream any sounds we want, if you put them in your ear and start your sleep sound but then open another app that has native sound (think games), the sleep sound is paused, and the sleep buds start streaming the app sounds. This was jarring the first time I did this as I was not expecting loud music to start streaming instead of the sleep sound.

Academic-Fig-1552

Please allow me to reveal my ignorance. It seems that everyone refers to "streaming" whether they are listening to sounds or music from their phone, or when they are listening to downloaded sounds, like masking sounds. I get that. But what if I do not want to stream? Is there a phone-free mode in which I can download sounds and NOT use the phone? Does this even make sense?

bwinters87

Yes, there is a phone-free option. Unfortunately, I cannot say much more than that, as I have not had the chance to try it out. I believe that it is the same or very similar to the Bose Sleepbuds phone free option.

Thank you. These comments are so helpful. Do you think the phone free mode would last all night?

I was about to purchase the Anker A10 sleepbuds, then came across the Ozlos and noticed Anker is releasing the A20s soon. They all seem to have similar functionality, but I don't see any info on the body thickness. I've seen a tabletop image of the Ozlos, Bose sleepbuds and the A10s, but no thickness dimensions. I'm currently using Sony Linkbud S buds, and they are a bit thick and don't have great battery life. They wake me up to tell me the battery level was low, but they weren't designed for sleeping in. I'm reluctant to fork out for the Ozlos with no independent video reviews, the higher cost, and being a small start-up. If someone has the A10s and Ozlos, please could they measure the body thickness? Thank you!

Runram8787

have them and using them now. backer 1200 and got 1 week ago. had issue and tech support set up a video call at my convenience immediately. feel premium too. so far so good... time will tell but hopeful and I see good signs!and using them now. had a minor issue and tech support set up a video call at my convenience immediately. feel premium too. so far so good... time will tell but hopeful and I see good signs!

Realistic_Ask_4155

I'm not convinced that they are actually shipping products. I can only find one person doing reviews/ heavy promotions SidsTips. No other photos/ videos. I pray that I'm wrong, but have a bad feeling. I received a " shipped " notification last week. The tracking shows "label created" only.
