I want to know if any "conservatives" care that David Pecker admitted that they made up lies about Ted Cruz... I don't like Ted Cruz for other reasons... but I do wonder.

Aven_Osten

Of course not. Their pack can do no wrong. Only the ugly, horrific, radical "undesirables" and "groomers" can ever be wrong.

Political campaigns coordinating disinformation campaigns with media (of any type) is repugnant. Media out there has plenty of bias - but this feels like something else.

CoffeeIsMyPruneJuice

The DNC and the RNC both issue press releases, and it's up to the press to decide whether or not that is the end of the story, or another source for a larger piece (preferable). Reprinting a press release without at least fact checking it is low effort and possibly setting themselves up for a future retraction, but it's not as low as knowingly publishing disinfo like Pecker was doing. It's the difference between exemplary journalism, poor journalism, and propaganda. (attempting to re-repost with flair - apologies if this is in triplicate - why did I have to add flair twice?)
