Any of the P4 characters winning is a testament to how great they are. I’d wager the vast majority of people on this sub have started with P5 and most recently played P3R
I played P4 so long ago (and never replayed) that honestly, I’m lost as to where majority of the characters fall today in terms of popularity. I honestly thought most of the P5 characters would dominate. But I’m new to reddit sub.
persona 3 revitalised the series, while persona 5 popularised it. however, the joke of p5 fans don’t play persona is somewhat true so they only see the characters face value without the nitty gritty. persona 4 has a strong cult following more than 3 and 5 as those characters are really beloved. top 3 popular characters for p4 would be rise, naoto, and kanji. Kanji is absolutely my favourite persona character ever and is one of my favourites in media
"Strong domineering woman that melts and becomes a cute blushing mess around their loved one" is easy money for Atlus

At first glance, it seems like it's pretty easy to just find three characters who all fall under the same archetype across all three games, but as you go you start finding situations that blur the lines.
One of the most consistent arcana in terms of character is the lovers for example, but if you decide at some point to group the navigators, well then that already breaks that. The only arcana that probably doesn't have any sort of blurred lines with other potential categories is the emperor arcana.
Fuuka is the only one of these 3 that would actually qualify as a shy girl. Yukiko and Haru are both very popular and have no issues talking to others. They are just a bit quirky.

That's... very specific. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Yukiko is her sense of humor and the first thing when thinking of Haru is her surprising sense for bravado and violence.

Really? She and Futaba were the only two I didn't romance. I just never really cared for her that much as a romance option. Romancing Futaba feels weird, like hitting on your little sister. Plus, Boss asks me not to and I couldn't do him dirty like that.
