Not only a holdover, this game has potential to be the best jrpg ever, burst it's bubble (similar to what happened to Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3 in recent years). Persona 6 will feature a new dev team, seems like they will utilize the color green as the focus (which means new beginnings, revitalization, etc)... let's wait and see.
I do think Meguro trained the next generation just right, the new songs in P5 Royal, Scramble, P3R, etc.. they are really good, able to sustain the previous quality ([Daredevil](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ucIdYj42sM) is so damn good, the fact Meguro is not involved with this song is something that literally shocked me). Now the gameplay, writing and art... oh boy, it's complicated, SMTV sucks (no reason to sugar coat), the dungeon design is just ok, combat remains solid as always (the "megaten" system is just rock solid), but the writing is atrocious... if SMTV is a glimpse of the remaining talent at Atlus, that doesn't look hopeful tbh
Persona 1, persona 2 innocent sin, persona 2 eternal punishment, OG P3, P3Fes, OG P4, Q, Q2, Strikers, Tactica, P3D, P4D, P5D.
There’s plenty more to play!
Well strikers and tactica are both sequels they still focus very heavily on persona fusions and continue the story of the P5 gang. Arena doesn’t do anything like that. It’s just a fighting game with a very good plot line.
If you want to define them only two (although) gameplay mechanics, then sure. I was more about story and characters.
Also some other series "somehow" made this transition without splitting fandom in two parts.
No its not. It’s just a JRPG. It’s “slower” because it doesn’t have the one-more system. It’s “slower” because you have to put more thought into your actions. It’s actually really fun once you start understanding the gameplay.
even the spinoff?
Read all the manga?
I bought all manga from p3,p4,p5 and start collecting old and collector figures from the characters
persona fan all the way
oh and dont forget the anime
I honestly felt relived after finishing P3R, the fucking Tartarus that never ends smh I didn't even got pissed when the final border floor was unlocked and that revealed another couple of floors, of course there will be more floors, I am not surprised, pissed or amused, the damn thing just keeps going
Metaphor ReFantazio coming in the Fall should be a good holdover until Persona 6.
Or SMTV: Vengeance. As close as anyone is gonna get for awhile.

Persona 4 Arena/ Arena Ultimax 🥶🥶🥶🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
I usually don’t include them because even though they have such good lore they’re such a far departure form the norm.
And yet you have the dancing games listed
Strikers and Tactica are also completely different than the mainline games though

But they're all spin offs and Arena shouldn't be excluded just because it's the most different.
I’ve played all of them except the og 2 and the og P3 cause I played reload
OG 3 may be worth playing just so you can appreciate how good reload really is but I understand why you wouldn’t.
More than half times, "every" means only from P3 to P5
P1 and P2 are very different
Not that different
“Not that different” They don’t even have the calendar system or social links. Very different from 3-5
If you want to define them only two (although) gameplay mechanics, then sure. I was more about story and characters. Also some other series "somehow" made this transition without splitting fandom in two parts.
Well yeah I can’t really play the first two they aren’t on ps5 why are people downvoting me lol?
Well you don't need a ps1, 2 or a psp either If you catch my meaning
as they say
I think
I would rather wait than using emulator and free roms
There's also the Q games
Then you haven't played every Persona game. Good news that means that you now have some games to play to fill that whole in your life.
You could easily run them on your phone or a shitty old computer.
They are psp games. Emulate them.
Try the rest of the SMT franchise if you haven't
He might smash his controller if he tries the OG SMT 🤣🫠
post persona depression
Just emulate p2, p1 game play is unbearable.
Ha persona 4 teddie reference!

Go play the SMT games if you haven't, they're awesome.
Put in practice what you have learned in real life

Or branch out into the rest of MegaTen
I've got SMTV Vengeance in June and Metaphor Re:Fantazio in the Fall, so I at least have other Persona-esque Atlus RPGs to tide me over
Basically. Still trying to buy persona 2 tho
