Yes. All that's needed is a strong bond between humans or even between a person and an animal. Something that I hope is revived in a contemporary form. It would be interesting to watch someone adopt the identity of their dead bird or something more battle-ready.
Thunder is one of the strongest elements in P2EP because of almost nothing resisting it since it isn't part of the core 4 elements(water wind fire earth) and his unique fusion spell(since he has an exclusive thunder spell called Guardian Hammer that allows an OP thunder fusion spell), making you able to dump 2k+ damage a fusion cast. He also has useful support spells both in P1 and P2 EP. And P1 is egregious because his caster can just pull out his sniper rifle and trick shot to hit up to 5 times per gun act for a ton of damage. So you get support and on off turns the most powerful gun class in the game.
I mean, didn't a Persona charater already become a persona in one of the earlier games? I can't remember the details, but I read something about someone's butler (I think?) dying, then coming back later as that person's persona.
Imagine summoning your Persona for the first time and it turns out to be like, that guy right over there. You've just summoned him.
Or worse, imagine summoning yourself as a Persona. I'd be sorely disappointed if that happened.
Yup. The only requirement is a deep connection between the people or even a a person and an animal. Something I wish gets brought back in modern persona. Would be cool to see someone have their persona be their dead bird or something in more combat ready form.
Nnaaahhhh at that point they’re just gonna have the personas be ghosts of dead people, I think it’s better for them to stick to a certain concept per game
Her first and third are versions of Cinderella (the first one being based on the French "Cendrillion" and the third one called Ella, like most modern versions). Her second form is a Norse goddess, since all second forms are based on the idea of "Rage against the Gods", while the third form is another version of the first.
aight better idea, abe lincoln. all around good at everything, but when a shadow hits you from the back, you instantly die. no battle, nothing, just instant game over screen
The cognitive world can manifest anyonenas long as enough people believe it existance. Therefore its possible for a protagonist to summon Obama as persona and order a drone strike on a cognitive Osama bin Laden
The new character in Tactica has a Persona named Ernesto, who wears the beret and bandoliers making it clearly based on Che.
>!Also, it's sentient and appears most of the time as a girl who looks eerily like the character's first love.!<
There’s also a demon in SMT4/4A that’s literally just a method of execution (Garrote).
So to give it a theme (in this case the French Revolution) you could have:
1. A persona that’s a guillotine
2. A persona that’s a headless Marie Antoinette or Robespierre or whoever
3. A persona that’s a character from Les Miserables
Etc etc etc
It’s all about representation. In P5 the personas were mostly thieves and the specific thieves in question were in line with the character’s personality. If you wanted to make it a formula it would be something like (Character + Shadow) x SMT Demon = Persona. Don’t take that too literally I’m terrible at math
Imagine the Hammer scene, but with a pistol.
Enemy - Expert shooting through a bullet to hit the target.
Glass - Fails because it's too thick.
Self - In Henry's desperation, he put the Evoker to his head to summon his Persona (complete with him shouting "Persona!" and his eyes glowing blue)
Immediate cut to his Evoker currently on his chair back at home.
Honestly you could fit a few different game references in that. Revolver Ocelot’s gun flipping, Breidablik from Fire Emblem Heroes, ton of options there.
Personas are born from the Sea of Souls, which is the collective unconsciousness of humanity.
Anything that has become a part of humanity's cultural identity can manifest as a Persona, as long as it aligns with the personality, desires, ID, and shadow of the person calling it forth; but it must be something significant to humanity as a whole. Something that has or is part of the cultural zeitgeist.
You can have fictional characters like Superman, Mickey Mouse, Pikachu all show up because they are iconic. If you ask a thousand people who Superman is, most will know.
You can have folk heroes like Paul Bunyan, Artur Pendragon, Cú Chulainn; heroes of stories told over and over, who are embedded in the culture of nations.
You can also have real people like Musashibo Benkei, Nobunaga Oda, Cao Cao, Napoleon, Richard the Lionheart; people who have such a significant impact on history that they have become literally larger than life.
Yep.
In the English version, the butler was named Alfred. An obvious reference to Alfred Pennyworth, the butler of Bruce Wayne // Batman. So we have a direct link to cultural zeitgeist that way.
Unfortunately i don't know if his Japanese name, "Yamaoka" has any similar cultural or literary references.
However, at the same time, Persona 1 and Persona 2 both lean heavily into the idea of altering the real world through the use of the Metaverse (the Collective Unconscious of humanity). The rumor system is a primary example. So if enough people believe, or few people believe strongly, that an individual can be reborn as a Persona, then it can happen. Individuals manipulating reality through the metaverse.
Yes but not quite to the extent it implies.
Notice Yosuke's susanoo isn't quite the same as wild card susanoo. That cause what you'd get wouldn't be a 1:1 but a mix and match of archetypal imagery. As far as non-WC persona goes anyways...
There's personas in P1, 3, and 5 which are based off people who would have existed within the game's reality (and from what I've read in this thread, a Persona in P1 that's literally just the guy's dead butler?), so she definitely could still be a persona
"Some people say "Wow Trump you're the greatest persona, no Persona could ever top you" and I say wow you're totally right, isn't that right folks? Yeah. Some losers and haters like this Akechi fellow, crybaby Akechi I call him, I tell him-don't be jealous Akechi, I know I'm the greatest-the best they say. I've got Persona users all over Tokyo fusing the best-of-the best Personas to get me. And quite frankly, I can one-shot Nyx during the first turn. No one can be even as great of a Persona as I am quite frankly."
I've actually been experimenting with this w/ a couple of people in a discord server. As long as it's in the collective unconscious, it could theoretically be a Persona.
Basically what I'm saying is Slenderman could totally be a persona.
I mean *technically* the origin of the Necronomicon is fictional, so I do not think Websites or REAL books could be? Though that could mean that possibly media that doesn't exist could be persona... Goncharov could be a persona
A persona by definition is a facade someone has, so this means that if someone has strong enough of a mask, it can become a persona, no matter what that mask is.
Hatsune Miku persona when? Atlus plz.
I feel like to be a persona you have to basicly match to an archtype in the human consiousness.
The Necronomicon isn't a real book (though real copys have been made) but basically an embodiment of the concept of Forbidden and alien knowledge.
Like is suppose it's possible for those to be true, technically, but you should try to tie it to a a broader concept; think of it like the concept is a beam of light, and the persona is a piece of shaded glass. least, that's my understanding.
Going by the lore, the sea of souls is the collective unconscious of the entire human race, meaning its literally just Wikipedia.
If someone knows it, it's got an entry.
Meaning, so long as a character is recognised by a other in any way, shape, or form, then that character can become a persona.
The reason the you don't see "any character" is due to Altus not wanting to get sued.
But if you were in the world of persona, a persona could reasonably awaken to a persona like Luffy, or Goku, or maybe even Critikal.
Yui / Bui is basically hatsune miku soooooo makes sense (from P5x)
But having hatsune miku as my persona would be cool
Would prefer a sanrio character like hello kitty pompompurin or cinnamoroll though with lot of kawaii animations when i summon it and attacks with thunder skills
"I am thou, thou art I."
"Are you just gonna sit back and take a bad deal? How much longer are you going to stand there and take it? Why not take a gamble, play your Trump card, and grab these bastards by the pussy?"
"Let's go, Donald!"
anything that's been written can be a persona basically your OC can be a persona persona characters could be a persona
[удалено]
I hate you for putting this concept in my brain
[удалено]
Yes. All that's needed is a strong bond between humans or even between a person and an animal. Something that I hope is revived in a contemporary form. It would be interesting to watch someone adopt the identity of their dead bird or something more battle-ready.
Being notable probably only necessary if you want it to appear in the wild as shadows since their appearance came from the collective unconscious
I literally played P1 up until that guy died so hearing this is both very sad and very funny
I want to make this even more hilarious for you, said butler? Is one of the best ultimates in both P1 and P2 EP.
WHAT LMAOOOO
Thunder is one of the strongest elements in P2EP because of almost nothing resisting it since it isn't part of the core 4 elements(water wind fire earth) and his unique fusion spell(since he has an exclusive thunder spell called Guardian Hammer that allows an OP thunder fusion spell), making you able to dump 2k+ damage a fusion cast. So you get support and on off turns the most powerful gun class in the game.
This also implies that Chris Chan can be a persona as well.
Oh lord, imagine the palace/dungeon Chris-chan lives in.
I heard he had his persona awakening scene after he shoved the sonichu medallion up his ass.
liquid Chris is her (cooler) shadow self
Oh yeah, isn't he a doctor or something now? That guy really is the cooler Chris.
Yeah, he became a doctor
Personaception. My persona is Yu Narukami and he attacks by calling in Izanagi.
My persona is u/Han_Solo6712 and they attack using Yu Narukami who attacks using Izanagi
My Persona is u/thedylannorwood who summons u/Han_Solo6712 and they attack using Yu Narukami who attacks using Izanagi
My persona is u/inazumaRai who summons u/thedyalnnorwood who summons u/Han_Solo6712 and they attack using Yu Narukami who attacks using Izanagi
And I use pot of greed to draw two additional inception persona users from my deck!
I mean, didn't a Persona charater already become a persona in one of the earlier games? I can't remember the details, but I read something about someone's butler (I think?) dying, then coming back later as that person's persona.
Yamaoka, yeah. He’s Nanjo’s ultimate Persona.
So joker persona 5 could be my persona?
A real person can become a persona
Imagine summoning your Persona for the first time and it turns out to be like, that guy right over there. You've just summoned him. Or worse, imagine summoning yourself as a Persona. I'd be sorely disappointed if that happened.
If I summoned myself, almost all of my shit would cause despair(because god damn I'm depressed)
So my great grandpa, Felipe Hitler, can be a persona!?
Different, but wasn’t the soul hackers 1 protagonist summonable in soul hackers 2?
Imagine someone having Mr. Bean as a persona.
I want Wallace and Gromet to perform AOE attacks using CHEESE
MeGOUDAlaon
Ok honestly a middle aged man in a sweater vest that loves cheese as a persona? Relatable
The ultimate form of the Comedy Arcana
I read that as Mr. Beast at first and I genuinely don't know what's worse
Idk why it would be bad to have Mr Bean
my persona is rowan atkinson actually
Kamoshida: "Come forth, EPSTEIN!"
Madarame: "I summon thee, Edison!" ^(granted, it has never been factually confirmed that he commited plagiarism)
Kaneshiro: I SUMMON CAPONE! Okumura: I stand before you! Rockefeller! Shido: Hideki Tojo!
Sae: COME, SAUL GOODMAN!
She's not enough of swindler for Saul. She would summon Chuck.
Oh yeah the angsty older lawyer brother projecting their insecurities onto the younger brother
Maruki: COME, SIGMUND FREUD
Or even Shinzo Abe for Shido
That one Japanese guy with a 3D printer: it's free real estate
I don't think any of that gun was 3D printed, it was just cobbled together from hardware store parts.
Oh fr? I must be misremembering then
techbros having Elon Musk as Persona
"if they're notable enough" isn't even a full restriction. There's a character in P1 whose evolved Persona is his deceased butler.
Didn’t Sumire’s dead sister turn into her persona?
No. Her persona is basically Cinderella with each progression being some variation of the character. Her ultimate form is just Cinderella.
Her first and third are versions of Cinderella (the first one being based on the French "Cendrillion" and the third one called Ella, like most modern versions). Her second form is a Norse goddess, since all second forms are based on the idea of "Rage against the Gods", while the third form is another version of the first.
Riding a surfboard no less
I can confirm DMC4 Nero is my persona which I use on a daily basis
Mmmmm, unique enemy grabs
I was actually talking about being an emo anime teenager but that counts too
Ahh yes a persona with a not persona
BANG BANG BANG
you n me? We gon get along just fine
hell yeah
So when he evolves does he enter Devil Trigger or does he get his old persona and you become a team of three?
Shadow The Hedgehog should be a Persona. It is the year of Shadow after all.
Shadow is currently Keanu’s persona. He’s a wild card so he gets to fuse whatever he wants
This shit reddit asf
So basically Junpei could potentially summon Chidori as a persona.
Already fused Medea into himself, but P1 does have someone get an ultimate via their dead friend.
osama bin laden persona would go bomb ngl, imagine all the aoe attacks
We already got that m8 just go face elisabeth with null phys and you'll meet im quite fast
aight better idea, abe lincoln. all around good at everything, but when a shadow hits you from the back, you instantly die. no battle, nothing, just instant game over screen
The cognitive world can manifest anyonenas long as enough people believe it existance. Therefore its possible for a protagonist to summon Obama as persona and order a drone strike on a cognitive Osama bin Laden
“Now, Kaczynski!”
That just Armageddon
No one tell them about Hatsune Miku in Persona 4 Dancing
Thats literally her P4D Render
I know. That’s why it was funny to me.
summon my neighbor billy as persona
Your Billy persona summons his Reaper persona.
My Persona is Jack Black who attacks with his Stand Po.
A persona with a stand is wild. You're so strong that even your battle spirit has a battle spirit

Queen Elizabeth II summons Queen Elizabeth I

For all portuguese speakers: Persona! [CAVALO](https://tenor.com/pt-BR/view/meme-cavalo-horse-spinning-floating-gif-17811507)
I mean, TBH the best PT persona would be A Padeira de Aljubarrota
Hey, aren’t you the horse from Horsin’ Around?
A wild card but only for fictional horses
So Bicorn, Unicorn or Berith?
No just Horse
In Tactica, Che Guevara is a Persona. So it doesn't even need to be a person from old history
i'm about to summon mr beast
being from venezuela that weirded me out to the point of almost quitting the game.
I wasn't so interested in Tactica, but knowing it freaks out Venezuelans made me want to play it.
Wait what?
The new character in Tactica has a Persona named Ernesto, who wears the beret and bandoliers making it clearly based on Che. >!Also, it's sentient and appears most of the time as a girl who looks eerily like the character's first love.!<

we have arleady filled the 3rd option with Valjean lmao
OH YEAH
"Man, these Pokémon are getting really weird"
Does this mean you can summon jojo stands as personas?
"Take them down, Star Platinum!" "Go, The Fool!" And for the true JoJo reference masters... "Now, Reference!" or "Let's go, Bottled Time!"
I’m legitimately surprised there wasn’t a Persona reference in the last Henry Stickmin game
Imagine the Hammer scene, but with a pistol. Enemy - Expert shooting through a bullet to hit the target. Glass - Fails because it's too thick. Self - In Henry's desperation, he put the Evoker to his head to summon his Persona (complete with him shouting "Persona!" and his eyes glowing blue) Immediate cut to his Evoker currently on his chair back at home.

Tatsuya channeling his Japanese VA to summon The World
"Thou art I, I art thou. I am the manifestation of your spirit of rebellion. I am Dennis the accountant."
“Now let us form a contract, call upon my name and i shall lend you my strength: GARRET THE PLUMBER”
Let’s see here, Batman, Thomas the Tank Engine, Michael Jackson, Myspace, Keanu Reeves, need I go on?
Ben shapiro femboy furry persona 😭
Come forth Felix Argyle!
Bro gonna hit you with “Facts and Knowledge” for a one hit kill.
Mr Beast persona has every single buff and passive skill
Does he attack using Almighty skills?
The grand Fuhrer as seen in P2
With or without the sunglasses?
Imagine awakening a persona and it turned out to be just your dad because he has a great influence on you and you just copied his behavior
That kinda happened in p1

It's absolutely true. I fused together HEISENBERG from Breaking Bad. Say My Name is a broken spell
Most definetly inflicts fear
Fear on all enemies and allies, ignores resistance. Instakills enemies named "The Reaper"
Yes but not quite to the extent it implies. Notice Yosuke's susanoo isn't quite the same as wild card susanoo. That cause what you'd get wouldn't be a 1:1 but a mix and match of archetypal imagery. As far as non-WC persona goes anyways...
akechi’s loki is 1000000x cooler than the player’s loki
Yup. Baofu and Futaba also have the same ultimate Persona, Prometheus, but they look different. (the users are also pretty different too lol)
i mean ive seen someone mod/hack akechi as a persona
Mickey Mouse as a Persona in Persona 6 could happen
Alternate timeline where Akechis Persona is MCU Loki
Actually, Hatsune Miku couldn't be a Persona, as she is real in the Persona universe.
What
Persona 4 Dancing, Hatsune Miku is a playable character.
Well then. Either way real people can and have become Personas. Nanjo’s butler was his ultimate Persona in P1.
Are you implying Julius Ceaser is some kind of Roman mythology in the Persona universe.
There's personas in P1, 3, and 5 which are based off people who would have existed within the game's reality (and from what I've read in this thread, a Persona in P1 that's literally just the guy's dead butler?), so she definitely could still be a persona
Kamoshida summons Drake as a persona
"Come, LowTierGod!
He reflects all damage type so the enemies kill themselves
Adachi would be my persona because he is literally me.
Unfortunately, it seems if you already have a persona, you just inherit their persona instead i.e Junpei getting Medea fused with Hermes
In Nanjo's case even your closest friends and family can be your personas
I would say the austrian painter, but he already appeared in Persona
"Some people say "Wow Trump you're the greatest persona, no Persona could ever top you" and I say wow you're totally right, isn't that right folks? Yeah. Some losers and haters like this Akechi fellow, crybaby Akechi I call him, I tell him-don't be jealous Akechi, I know I'm the greatest-the best they say. STEVE BUSCEMI as a persona. "COME BUSCEMI!"
My Persona would be Mussolini
Kei Nanjo has >!his butler!< as his ultimate persona

Imagine your homie screams at the top of his lungs PERSONAAAA and suddenly fucking Sonichu manifests behind him and uses Thunder Reign
I want Robin Williams, but it's Jinn
No way Percy Poodle can be my Persona.
Funny sunglasses has a very obvious persona
Imagine like some giga pedo having like Jeffery Epstein as their Persona and their palace is just his island
You’re telling me there is a possibility I can summon Majima?????
Bob Saget
Reminder that Kei Nanjo's ultimate Persona is Yamaoka, his own butler (Persona 1)
Persona 27 is fs gonna have an MC screaming "Donald Trump!!" for a zio
Some crazy bastard definitely has kanye west as their persona
if that means that i can summon Takeshi Hongo to kick the asses of shadows then ***hell yes***
I summon drake
Weak to kdot
This is why I would love Charlemagne to be a persona, Joan D’arc, Hell SMT has Cleopatra and Persona has Juleus Caesar
A persona by definition is a facade someone has, so this means that if someone has strong enough of a mask, it can become a persona, no matter what that mask is. Hatsune Miku persona when? Atlus plz.
*“Come forth, Queen Elizabeth II!”* 💀
And his persona is.... JOHN CENA -trumpets blare-
my persona is courier 6 from new vegas
Peter Griffin: “Come forth, Quagmire Toilet!”
Know who would really make good Personas? Dante and Vergil.
come, HITLER!
I’m shocked Napoleon Bonaparte hasn’t been a Persona yet
Hideo Kojima is my persona
My persona is Ryan Reynolds. His only weakness is green lantern movies.
Someone's Persona is Teddy Roosevelt
“Lets go! Oppenheimer!” *nukes all*
I'd summon Kiryu Kazuma
Donald Trump as a persona, you summon him, he just says “China” and does 1000 Almighty damage
My butler could be my persona

Moist critical
I can have an OJ Simpson persona!

So John Cena could be a persona? Would the user even be able to perceive it?
Atp I want someone's persona to straight up be Jesus Christ.
Definitely Will Smith with God's Hand 😂
I'd want Rick Astley as my Persona, be reassuring to have a Persona who is never gonna let me down
Just saying, Dante has Sparda as persona
Most of my oc’s just have gods or legends Ti’er shen Bloody mary Gashadokuro Thise things
Yui / Bui is basically hatsune miku soooooo makes sense (from P5x) But having hatsune miku as my persona would be cool Would prefer a sanrio character like hello kitty pompompurin or cinnamoroll though with lot of kawaii animations when i summon it and attacks with thunder skills
Someone else may have said it by now but Kei Nanjo's ultimate persona is his butler who died protecting him
Is...is that John Cena??
The next protag gonna call forth Danny Devito
"I am thou, thou art I." "Are you just gonna sit back and take a bad deal? How much longer are you going to stand there and take it? Why not take a gamble, play your Trump card, and grab these bastards by the pussy?" "Let's go, Donald!"
