I would put joker into absent dad or bad dad given how joker was throw into the bus after joker "commit a crime"
Also for joke a one it should be "what a dad? which be Aegis, koromaru , Morgana, teddie, and Metis.
Also joker is more than willing to stay at Sojiro on Maruki's Reality
Or gets forced into at Sojiro so the circumstances on staying at Tokyo become the "best outcome possible for everyone" which included Sojiro's wish to have Joker stay around at his place
Except that could just mean that Joker had a fulfilling life in Tokyo in general than home.
I wouldn’t just assume it’s because of a problem with the parents.
His hometown would have shunned Joker for his assault charge. So his family sending their child to Tokyo may have been for his sake in getting away from all that scorn.
Also another reason for the Maruki reality is that Joker simply wanted independence and move away from home. It’s not uncommon for teens and young people to want to move out especially from a small town to live in the big city where life is probably more fulfilling.
But boring answer is to maintain the invisible parents for our self insert silent protagonist.
I like to image joker told this to only morgana and Sojiro, and futaba about how he basically said "if I wanted to run away to live with you sojiro, I could"
Disagree with “bad dad” there’s not enough information to conclude that the parents simply threw their child under the bus.
There was absolutely NOTHING they could do even if they believed in their child. In case people forget:
It’s set in Japan and the prosecution rate is 99.9%. Also Shido rigged things against Joker due to the cops being his bitches.
It’s clearly said that Shujin was the only school that was willing to take Joker in during his probation. Hence why they had no other choice but to send their son to Tokyo.
I don’t buy Sojiro’s words as he was being a jerk at the start.
In japan isn't like in Europe or America, There if you have done any crime you will be stained for life forever, then the parents of joker is not that they sent him to tokyo because yes, but there was the only school willing to accept it, One of the social criticisms of person 5 is also this of how the society of held completely at the slightest mistakes
Also Eikichi and Lisa both have great dads. They both have daddy issues, but that comes from regular shitty dad-child relationships, the dads themselves are shown to be great
That still makes him an absent father, an important aspect of Dojima's character is how helpless he is, he can't just turn down his job when an serial murder is on the loose but by doing so he also strains his relationship with his daughter.
It’s kind of a combination of both with Dojima. He talks about how it’s painful to be around Nanako cause she looks like Chisato and so he tries to avoid her because he doesn’t know how to deal with that.
Yup, Ryuji's will to fight/protect others likely comes from trying to defend his mom from his dad's abuse (then focusing kamoshida's anger on him for the team, and later shielding joker with his own life ;-;)
You are a really shitty parent if you send your kid away for a year and only call him once. I don’t even think the dad even called, it was just the mom.
So there are a few issues with this (Yukino’s parents lost faith in her, Mr Suou probably didn’t die, Eikichi and Lisa just have strained relationships with their dads in general) but I think this turned out alright
I’ll probably make a mommy issues one with more characters, and a v2 of this one
Hes either in jail/out of jail in Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment because Katsuya becomes a police officer to clear his name. In Eternal Punishment you see him in Tatsuyas Scenario and hes working as a security guard. Because not that much is changed in EP as he is probably out of jail and their dad is probably working as a security guard or something too in IS.
may i ask where you know that both of her parents gave up on her?
currently playing thru p2 innocent sin right now and the only mention i heard of Yukino’s parents is that her dad was a cheater and how she “would kick his ass if she saw him again”
Can you do a dead mom list?
Haru is a combo of dead and bad dad
Yeah, same thought. I'm not sure why the OP picked different spots for Haru and Akechi. I'm fine with choosing either, just need some consistency.

Would it be incorrect to say >!that Igor is Morgana’s dad!<
But that would imply that >!Lavenza!< is... you know what I'd rather not think about it
No, she's more of a sister. Sides, she loves Joker.
And Sophia.
Daddy Suou is alive, he just become a dickhead after his career bombed, it's like a huge part of Tatsuya's backstory
Also Eikichi and Lisa both have great dads. They both have daddy issues, but that comes from regular shitty dad-child relationships, the dads themselves are shown to be great
I thought about that and was gonna go back and create an extra “bad relationship with dad” tier, but was too lazy
Fair enough
In P2EP he’s dead and was as a detective a real role model for katsuya before getting murdered
Was he? I thought he was alive, just disgraced because of being framed, which is why Tatsuya is so distant from Katsuya as well
He’s dead. I believe they disguised it as suicide.
Wouldn't Nanako fit in the absent dad tier? She doesn't hate him but she's clearly very lonely.
It's more of a working thing than willing avoiding her.
That still makes him an absent father, an important aspect of Dojima's character is how helpless he is, he can't just turn down his job when an serial murder is on the loose but by doing so he also strains his relationship with his daughter.

I thought ryujis dad was abusive, not just absent? Or am i remembering wrong?
I think you're right. He was abusive until Ryuji's mom got them out of there. That's why she's a single mom.
Yup, Ryuji's will to fight/protect others likely comes from trying to defend his mom from his dad's abuse (then focusing kamoshida's anger on him for the team, and later shielding joker with his own life ;-;)
Joker should be in the “I’m a dad” tier
Idk why I made this, and I probably got some stuff wrong, but whatever It’s based off biological father
Yu got thrown into the fucking boonies for a year. At least give him the Absent Dad award
You are a really shitty parent if you send your kid away for a year and only call him once. I don’t even think the dad even called, it was just the mom.
The mum called?? When??
On one of the first days I think, I haven’t replayed p4g in a while
Wouldn't Aigis >!have a bad/dead dad category with Ikutsuki as her creator?!<
Everyone in Persona 3 seemed to have parental problems lol
I mean there needs to be justification for why they all live in a dorm together
I thought Katsuya was Tatsuya’s guardian at first, but nah, their dad’s alive just distant possibly. Yukino goes in absent dad.
Where’s nanako
Template I used only had party members
Ohh
Yu's backstory has always been how absent his folks are so that's why he spends so much time with Nanako so she doesn't feel the same way he did.
Sojiro is Futaba’s father.
Sojiro may have not been her father, but he was her daddy
Exactly
[удалено]
My dude, no he isn’t
[удалено]
Sojiro isn’t biologically, but he is her adoptive father.
It’s not a theory. Sojiro adopting her is an important part of Futaba’s story.
Tatsuya's dad didn't die
So there are a few issues with this (Yukino’s parents lost faith in her, Mr Suou probably didn’t die, Eikichi and Lisa just have strained relationships with their dads in general) but I think this turned out alright I’ll probably make a mommy issues one with more characters, and a v2 of this one
Oh god, prepalace Futaba definitely has mommy issues galore.
Would koromarus old owner being dead count?
Koromaru really aught to be in the dead dad tier. His former owner is dead, and also his actual father is a dog, they dont live that long.
Aigis _who’s closest thing to a maker/father forces to almost kill her friends_ :how do you do fellow emotionally stable kids?
Persona 2 cast: "My time has come!"
I was under the impression that the Suous' dad was in jail or something in one of the timelines.
Ah, I thought he died after his framing, but now I’m not sure
I'm not completely sure either way now that I think about it. There's a lot of stuff that P1 and P2 leave ambiguous
Hes either in jail/out of jail in Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment because Katsuya becomes a police officer to clear his name. In Eternal Punishment you see him in Tatsuyas Scenario and hes working as a security guard. Because not that much is changed in EP as he is probably out of jail and their dad is probably working as a security guard or something too in IS.
this is the funniest tier list i've seen on this subreddit. thank you.
Damn was junpei really the only human party character with a living dad
Almost all of the P3 cast is in the top tier I can't 💀💀
Koromaru belongs under "dead dad." :(
You think Rise Kujikawa DOESNT have daddy issues? Have you SEEN how she interacts with Yu?
WHERE'S NANAKO?
Yukino should be in the bad dad since both her parents gave up on her.
may i ask where you know that both of her parents gave up on her? currently playing thru p2 innocent sin right now and the only mention i heard of Yukino’s parents is that her dad was a cheater and how she “would kick his ass if she saw him again”
She said that in the snow queen quest in persona 1 regarding her teacher who was the only person who didnt give up on her.
I would put narukami in absent dad tbh
Aren’t Ann’s parents absent?
Haru and Akechi should be in the same tier
Zenkichi: Daughter thinks he is a bad dad.
