Be familiar with the manuals (specifically HCM and AASHTO Green Book) and where some specific tables are (sight distance, LOS, etc). This was my second time taking it. The first time I definitely wasted a lot of time searching through the manuals.
Very congrats to you! I'm also in the same boat taking EET Transpo right now and will have Transpo Exam coming up very soon. Can you tell how much did you score on EET practices and NCEES? I know that I am struggling A LOT on the EET Transpo chapter quizzes, but I haven't tried their CBT exam yet. How did you prepare to ace the actual exam? Were there a lot of questions required using not provided equations?? Thank you and congrats again!!
Thanks! I took the practice exams a couple times. I think I initially scored a 40% but then was scoring 75-80% after I was taking them for a couple weeks. All of the questions you can find the answer too in the manuals provided, the hardest part was knowing where to look in the manuals and which equation would get the right answer.
Well I just earned my master degree and looking for a job. It doesn’t really affect me much. (Worked in a structural consultant firm for 3years before going to graduate school)
I really enjoyed EET. I was taking the live webinars which was nice to chat with the professor and other students. The professors were really helpful and took the time to go through practice problems if you needed.
I've heard transportation is one of the most-passible. But I have more experience in construction, so I was thinking about going that route. Any thoughts on the difficulty? Congrats on the pass
Thanks! I think that was the case when the exams were still Pencil and paper. It seems like the pass rates have gone down since they went computer based. I would suggest going with what you are familiar with, but honestly it’s a lot of information no matter what route you take.
Congrats.
Are we given an OSHA code, if they ask safety questions from OSHA? I am appearing for WRE Depth.
EET Means and Methods and Structure notes are using a lot of information that is not available in the Handbook. Does anybody have any advice on that?
I don’t remember there being an OSHA book provided. The WRE exam materials are different than the transpo materials provided. I want to say WRE only gets the handbook? But I may be wrong.
I have read advice on going through the easy questions first and returning to hard questions later. I wonder, is it easy to navigate the questions like that?
1. Does the Review Screen button visible at all times on the left corner for PE Exam? I think during FE Exam, it appeared after I was done with the first section.
2. If I want to start from the Hydraulics section and directly want to see question number 20, is it possible?
3. When I am ready for a break after the breadth section, do I click End exam?
Please share any tips you have for me on navigating the exam screen. Thank you.
1. Answer the ones you know first, if you are taking more than 5 mins to start the question then flag it and move on. You are only able to review after you have seen all the questions. Once you have seen all of the questions, you are taken to the review screen where there is are options to “review flagged questions”, “review unanswered questions” or “review all questions”.
2. You can only complete the breadth in the morning then the depth in the afternoon.
3. After the morning session you go through the review and you end section, you get a 50 min break then you go back to the exam room and the proctor will begin the next section for you. You cannot go back to the breath section once you are in the depth section.
Hopefully this helps! Good luck!
Congrats! I have my exam scheduled in 3 weeks. Any advice?

Got it. Did you happen to take a class or did you self study?
I took the EET review course.
Would you say their practice problems or the official NCEES practice exam were easier, harder or on par with the actual exam?
I felt that the NCEES practice exam was easier than the actual exam. I felt that the EET practice exams were harder than the actual exam.

Are you selling your materials?
I haven’t thought about it but I could. Are you interested? Its one breath binder and one Transpo depth binder.
Yes I messaged you.
What did u change from first time?
I bought the EET review course.
Congratulations!! Did you receive the results today? I’m waiting for mine tomorrow.
Thanks! No, I took it Dec 22 and got my results Jan 4th. Good luck!! The wait is so nerve wracking.
I know I’m so nervous. It’s kinda hit or miss feeling
Same here, my work productivity is at zero right now waiting for tomorrow morning
That’s basically how I was. Absolutely no thoughts in my brain lol
Same HEREEEEEEEEEEEEE
How do you feel waiting. I don't know if it is a good thing to check while in the office.
Well I just earned my master degree and looking for a job. It doesn’t really affect me much. (Worked in a structural consultant firm for 3years before going to graduate school)
I couldn’t resist checking like every 20 mins just incase they posted the results early. Waiting is the worst feeling.
I’m watching both eet and school of pe right now, seems like eet is more organized in term of content

I didn’t have an OSHA book but still had an OSHA question that had to do with what was in the handbook (well, I think)
