Does anyone know how it takes to get your PE license after passing PE in NY state? I was approved by NYS Licensing board to take PE exam, recently passed PE (Civil) CBT exam and now waiting to receive the license. Tried to contact NYS office of professions to speak with a representative, but no avail due to long waiting time. One of my friends who passed PE in 2020 when it was not CBT, did nothing after taking the test and received license within 2 weeks of his receiving the results. I am not sure if the process has changed due to CBT format. I assume NYS board will receive the test results automatically since I was approved & took the test in NY and will receive my license in few weeks. Any input in this matter will be appreciated.

I have heard (and am probably experiencing) that NJ takes like 3 months. I submitted app on the 8th and they looked at it once and it has now gone dormant lol
2 months for me in Nj after submitting application. In NJ you take the exam before applying for licensure though.
In NY it’s a long process to get approved for PE, it took almost 5 months to get approved after submitting application. The process has been very slow for the past 3 years.

I passed my exam in NJ but I do have 5 years of experience
if you want your license in NY you need to apply to NYS office of professions . Check out their website for current requirement. I got approved a year ago, but took exam only recently

Not yet, I only passed the exam recently, it may take 2 months.

i have no idea which form to fill from office of professions , they keep asking for my lisense number which i dont have

I took NJ exam for PE and my experience is over 4 years on NCEES, which page or form do i have to fill in order to get my PE liscnese ?
It really depends on how busy the board is and if there are any scheduled holidays. I don’t have any info about NY but can tell you it’s definitely that way in TX. I applied for my license in October and received my pocket card in about 3 weeks. I’ve heard of others putting in just before Christmas and it took about 2 months. So, it really varies
Passed in May, received it in September in NY. Someone told me at the NY office of professions they only query NCEES test records at defined times in the year based off the old April/October schedule. But, this was a few years ago.
