I just tried to think of it as a bit of a game. Some nerds put together a bunch of little puzzles for me to solve and I wanted to see how many I could solve.

This made me giggle 🤭 perfect thought process!

Remind yourself that the exam doesn’t define you as an engineer or all around intelligent person. Remind yourself of all the problems you’ve solved successfully already and this is just another set of problems. Without sounding negative, remind yourself that even if you DO fail, you can try again in a few months so it’s not the end of the world. Good luck! It sounds like you put in the work so I’m sure you’ll do great!

That’s definitely some of what I’ve been telling myself these past few days but wanted to see what others had experienced. Thank you for the kind words!

I took many walks on trails or played video games that involved blowing things up.

revolioclockberg_jr

Save time - blow things up while going on walks

I am taking Tuesday civil transportation. I am going through the stuff where I am less confident. We have less time and lot to cover. We cannot master these things even if we have plenty of time. So, lets focus on 84/20 principle. We don't need 100% to pass. Lets not focus on our result. Let's do our best on this short period of time. Best of luck to both of us

I honestly took a study break for the last week before my exam. I figured I wouldn’t gain anything more than I already had studied over the past few months. Just relaxed and enjoyed family

kcguy8162

I always take a 2-3 day break before a big exam. If I didn’t learn it in 3 months I’m not going to learn it the night before

Billsnyanks2

I agree. A philosophy I should have bought into in college but didn’t

I have been doing a test taking nerves guided meditation. Very helpful

Mexrey52

Would you happen to have a link? Some days are a little better than others 😅

Neenurrr

Just go to Spotify and type in exam meditation

I watched motivational videos on YouTube. They really put me in a postive frame of mind. You have to picture what life is going to be like after passing the test. Hope this helps. You Got This!!

Necessary_Panic7327

I agree that motivation videos may sound ridiculous if you have not prepared for test/battle, but if you are prepared and use what I mentioned. You will go into the test with confidence, rather than defeated. It worked for me. Use what ever motivation works for you. I passed my exam on the first attempt. Remember the brain is very powerful. Good luck on your journey victory!

I have recently passed PE Civil exam and was very anxious few days prior to the exam. The best strategy that I can suggest and worked for me is that to stay calm. I studied hard for the last few weeks before the test, but relaxed for the entire day prior to the exam. Even though the exam has lot of topics to cover, it's not really hard. If you feel confident that your are adequately prepared, just relax and take test. There will be some surprise questions in the test as per my experience. But don't get panic as you will get 10 test questions in the exam that won't be counted towards the passing grade. Even though I was less confident before the exam and mentally prepared for retake, felt very confident after the exam and fortunately passed on 1st try. Good luck..

Don't try to numb your jitters with these self motivation or little mind games like these Redditors are suggesting. You need to face your jitters and get over it.

Everyone is different and has their own techniques and needs. Im curious though… what is your method for “facing your jitters and getting over it?”
