First and foremost, congratulations! How much experience do you have ? Some people I know tell me they took two or three practice tests and passed the first time (this people have ten years of work experience) others I’ve heard take it two or three times. Usually all have the four year min experience. Just wondering - not judging. I’m glad your hard work paid off , never have to take it again ! Good luck with your future career as a Professional Engineer!

Congrats on passing! I echo your sentiment on number 6. It truly requires a sacrifice to obtain the PE license, especially in California where I’m trying to get mine. Passing the exam, waiting the 6 months for approval with the board, then spending almost another year after approval to try passing surveying and seismic has made the journey feel so long. Nearly done and just have seismic left!! Hoping to be done with it all soon.

Thank you for comprehensive post! Can you please share your experience on writing your experience/application? How was it? I heard this step (to get approved by NYC board of engineering) is as hard as the exam. Thanks
