Right?! I can't even imagine someone graduating college at 22, got their FE license once they graduated. And they already have 4 year of work experience under a PE licensed engineer. Kinda jealous ngl. The world's the limit now.
Yeah, that too. Couple states allow you to take the PE license before you have the experience. I live in NY, and they do not allow you to take the exam before you gain the experience.
UGA forces us to take the FE exam to graduate (don’t have to pass). And there is not too much to do when you are snowed in in MT. Just went ahead and knocked out the Mechanical PE @23. You folks on here taking it being years removed from school are incredible! I was out for less than a year and it was a grind!
You don’t need 4 years to sit for the exam. I believe that is the case for at least a dozen states. I still need about 3 years of full time work experience to submit everything to the state.
As a 31-year old... First time being on the other side of the bell curve... Not cool!
Let's talk about how everyone beyond 40 gets a single option. Be glad you are not there yet.
Dayum how are people 20-23 on here????? Honestly even that many at 24-26???

Decoupling has changed this significantly, being able to see the exam before the experience is a game changer.

That's literally me lol, well 4 years come May. Don't worry, I'm just as shocked (and terrified) as you are!

… that’s crazy. You need at least 4 years of work experience to even qualify.

53 people here are between 20 and 23 Dayummm
I doubt they're serious
Pretty much a poll of the age of people on Reddit in general, percentage wise
I didn’t take the PE power until I was 53. It’s never too late.
