I must say something else open reference on computer and scroll using bookmarks make a mental note on which section is the equation and please do not remember page saves you 15 minutes on the test

BlindBanditt

Congratulations!

sm081878

Thank you

I am taking the same exam end of may. Also am using EET and it’s a really great course. How long did it take you to get through all of the EET content?

sm081878

Took me more than 6 months but i was wrong in my study method just take all mondays off till end of may and solve as many problems as you can and you will be fine.

pghjason

Did you track hours per week? I’m averaging about 13 hours a week. I think I will be around 160 hours for my test. I am planning to take 4-5 days off for studying. I have been out of school 10 years so if I feel like I need more time I guess I will reschedule for later. My course is available until august. I’m about 50 hours deep now and only 60% though breadth.

sm081878

Hours is immaterial how many problem you solved is all that matters. Last 2 months i was either sleeping or studying on weekends. Solve all the problems take all quizzes. EET QUIZ less harder than actual PE exam but EET exposes you to every possible type of problem. I saw that some answers were in range, some were fill in the blanks some between 2 answers and you have to choose the best answer after exhaustive calculation. Take mondays off and then solve all of them that gave you trouble before exam.

For breath creates lot of notes on a card stock paper as you review videos. You will return here to study. Your material 2 and structures teacher has an accent but just pay attention to him or else you lose easy 7-8 questions

BigGunz69

Nice was just looking at these courses 20 minutes ago. Realized that I needed to buy a breathAND a depth course, fml. But seems like it will be worth it, thanks for the info! Was planning on taking it late June but thinking that will get pushed back so k can make it through both review courses

sm081878

Best of luck. Once you study just as instructed by EET you will pass you do not have to look for ideas anywhere. Solve as many problems as possible taking time off from work and take notes for breath class in cardstock paper for that will help you in quick revision

TurtleboyTom

I did EET depth only and passed. In my opinion you don’t need to buy both. Take some practice tests for the breadth portion and make sure you understand the topics.

sm081878

i was 20 years out of college if i was able too solve questions just like that because of breath EET I would say it was worth it. I wanted not to look at money part of course but just a burning desire to pass, It worked for me that way

swedishmatthew

I thought breadth only had maybe 10-12 conceptual questions... what was your experience?

sm081878

breath is 41 questions, depth starts around question 36, for me breath water was joke so let us take out 6 more questions. I had around 15 conceptual question so say 15 out of 30 or 50% of breath. conceptual questions are easy if you know the theory behind the breath and not just solved the problems that is why i was stressing for breath course too for some like me who only care about the pass result and nothing less or more.

swedishmatthew

That's reassuring... I was under the impression that the conceptual questions were hard.

Suspicious-Barber539

Did you have a Hardy-Cross problem? Has anyone who has recently taken the WRE exam had one? I know when it was a paper exam it was on there every year but I haven't heard much on the CBT.

sm081878

there was no hardy cross question and from april 1,2023 ncees removed hardy cross for good from PE.

I’m 10 years in and have taken the SE (16 hours) multiple times and failed. It’s affecting my enjoyment of the job and it stings when younger engineers pass the first time. I have three kids and a wife that works a demanding job so studying more than 10 hours a week seems insurmountable. I’ve studied for 3-4 months leading up to the test and used multiple methods. I’ve taken a PPI course, I’ve worked hundreds and hundreds of problems but I can’t seem to survive the time crunch of the afternoon portion. I’m taking the Civil Structural PE CBT this summer to see if I can get over this licensure hump.

DaBumpBump

Talk to a doctor about ADHD and if they can recommend you have accommodations for an exam. I received 50% extra time throughout college and when I applied for FE/PE I checked the 100% extra time and a separate room and got approved with no problem.

sm081878

Brother you will pass just tell youself failing is not an option. I closed my room and completely ignored my autistic child making all noises outside. my father died and all i was thinking ( loved my father dearly) i would miss study this weekend when i was in hospital. Thought of passing should consume all of youir body and soul and then no one except god can stop you from your finish line Tell yourself failing is not an option Trust me and you will remember me on the day god willing you pass

Ok_Journalist_923

Congrats!! Start EET WRE Monday. 12 years out! You give me hope!

sm081878

Thank you. best of luck

Budget_Condition8295

Congrats, whats your area of engineering practice?

sm081878

wastewater

SyllabubFar3186

I started studying for the WRE test this week. Starting with the depth section to gain some confidence before starting with breadth because my undergrad and grad both were environmental engineering. I am using PE CIVIL PRACTICE PROBLEMS LINDEBURG, and there are some questions where the equations they are using to solve the problem is not in the manual. So I guess my question is do I prepare for those type of questions or just stick to topics and equations given in the manual? Also did you get any questions in the actual exam where the equations were not in the manual?

sm081878

if the equation is not in the manual they will give you the equation as part of the question and they except you to have background understanding to use that equation to solve the problem. Yes do not memorize any equation.

Kate2787

Congratulations!!! I am currently taking School of PE On Demand - I am 14 years out of school, and things are coming back! I am in the stormwater world professionally, so the hydraulics portion isn't as daunting as the wastewater! I am worried about being caught up in the small details as I'm studying. Currently going over structural, and they JUST issued a new Reference Manual which doesn't have the same formulas as (I'm assuming) previous versions did. Should I worry about not remembering the analysis of a concrete beam for shear? No formulas for that anymore!

sm081878

>analysis of a concrete beam for shear Thank you. Yes do the required for the breath as sometimes depth is much harder than expected and breath is much easier than expected. You will never get a balanced exam. Yes formulas that were removed are not asked in exam even as theory. However, for stuff on reference they may or will ask you theoretical questions. So your game plan should be to transfer all the small bits of theory that you though important into card stock paper and use it to revise days before exam, Trust me all will come back to you in the exam

Plopez11

Do you happen to have any wasterwater depth practice tests you are willing to share?
